    Good class and video. I would have liked to see the other ends of those wires that led into the air handler. I can see the motor wires but have no idea where the other wires come from except maybe the thermostat.

    You are calling the white wire neutral. Is this a 120V motor?
    If not, then that would be L1 or L2 and the colored wire would be the other.
    240V has 2 legs of power, L1 and L2.

      No, on that connector, L1 and L2 are marked L and N. We all know an ah blower motor is 230V.

      Those in the trade may know, but this is a school, based on the poster's title, and the difference between L1, L2 and N should be explained to these students.
      It is pretty obvious they are just learning by their lack of response to his questions.
      N is probably there because it is a generic plug used on both 120V and 208/230V motors and someplace in those instructions it makes that distinction.

    Normally the heat strip elements once energized it will call for a high blower motor speed tap 4 -5 in most cases. Heat pumps are airflow sensitive and a airflow plate pressure test is always a good practice.. Great tutoring video

    Had a tech do this to my unit. I got to replace the whole unit bc of it. Don’t let a tech talk you into this.

    Incredible Video. Thank You

    On a Trane or American Standard AH, break L2 on one set of relay NO contacts. L1 wired hot all the time. 24VAC Com from heat kit must pass through the other set of NO contacts to prove blower motor is energized and hopefully running.

    The technician cover the wires with his hands so nobody can see where is connecting the wires and the camera man is completely lost

    • @johnnyriser8519
      @johnnyriser8519 Před měsícem

      I agree with you. It's hard to see where the wires are being placed on the relay because his hands are getting between the camera and the relay, and the camera person is not moving or zooming in so we can see clearly.

    Good video but is that the right relay? It’s not supposed to be 24coil and 240 v? the one I showed says 24 v cool and 125v!!

    Don't you think a 10 farad capacitor is a bit excessive?

    • @picklerix6162
      @picklerix6162 Před 11 měsíci

      It depends on the motor. My old furnace had a 12 uF cap on the blower motor.

    I did it like this but my electric heat wouldn’t come on. I added another relay for heat on medium lo speed tap.

    Very informative video, if you already have some experience with this. However, the cameraman, and the lead voice on this video are very shabby to say the least. You should always review the video and try to make it better. Videotaping somebody’s feet or elbow is not helpful. Sloppy language is not helpful either. Teach this, as if you are teaching a newbie. Thanks for the attempt though.
