Thanks for your enthusiasm for Phil and Genesis. A warm hello from Dorset, England.
Hello my friend!
A catch at the tables by Anthony Phillips is fantastic.
Good to know!!
I do have that Genesis To Revelation tape version. It's the only tape version I got of that album. I think it was in early 90's I bought it. I like that album as well as the extra tracks from that era that came in the archive box set in 1999. I wish I could get my hands on all the lost tracks from the early Genesis era. Tony Banks lists some of the lost tracks in the booklet of that archive box set.
I’m grateful for the find!!
If you are ever in Calgary, I will take you around to our record stores!
C'mon... Don't talk it down: Finding any format of "From Genesis To Revelation" with the actual artwork is awesome. And it's even on tape! Never seen one of those before 👍🏻
Saw a copy at the local record meet, £150.
You’re so right!!
A few months ago I randomly stopped into a Half Price Books near work. Surprisingly, it seems like someone must have recently sold their entire Genesis collection to them. There was Brand X, Tony Banks & Peter Gabriel 12” singles and my ultimate steal, the blue box set for $80. I couldn’t pass that up as I hadn’t seen it anywhere at that price. I couldn’t believe my luck and even with leaving items behind I still spent way too much.
I went to this same Half Price Books last week and they had a brand new Live in Pittsburgh bootleg. I don’t know who is buying all this Genesis stuff for the store but I hope they realize they have a chump who will buy it all in me. 🙃
All that to say, that Half Price Books is the only place I find any good Genesis stuff. I visit record stores in new cities all the time and pretty much never find anything. The thrill of the chase, I suppose.
Amazing. Great for you! Lucky!
That Sellling England looked like a Classic Albums version as there was also a Lamb Classic Albums copy next to it.
Dang it!!!
With all that snow bro,
i was hoping to see scottie the snowman⛄
Lol
$90 for I/0 that is crazy. Amazon is charging $90 as well, with free shipping, lol.I purchased I/O as well for $69.99 @ Records On Wheels in Dundas,Ontario
Hopefully the Analogue Productions LP reissues are on your radar. Expensive but they are the original mixes (finally) - NOT the Nick Davis remixes (it’s a crime that the remixes are the only versions available on Spotify and LP now, without even stating that they’re remixes). Selling England and The Lamb out now, a selection of others to follow. I have Selling England and it’s the best I’ve heard this album sound.
Can’t decide what to get. I think I’d like the lamb and HIMBG. And I really want Selling too. Gosh so hard!!
@@EverythingPhilCollins I got Selling England because that really makes sense as a double album (it's LONG and the songs split up nicely into 4 sides) - plus I really wanted the original mix. I'm not a fan of the Nick Davis remixes which, in this case, uses the odd different vocal take and just generally messes it up! The Lamb over 8 sides of vinyl seems excessive (which matches the price tag). I'll wait for the SACD for that one.
I live in a small town so I'm not fortunate enough to have any indie record stores in my hometown nor near enough to go to. The nearest indie record stores are an hour each way from my hometown. I'm only lucky enough to go to these 2 record stores once twice a year at best. I don't drive, so I have to ask a buddy of mine, to take me to the 2 indie record stores when he's home. My buddy is an over the road truck driver. The down side to living in a small town, the market area is not good for indie record stores. The 2 indie record stores are in a metro area an hour each way from my hometown. So, here in my hometown, I only have Walmart to buy records from. I don't like to shop online for records due to security reasons and I really prefer to shop in brick and mortar record stores because I can look at the records to see the records condition, instead looking at pictures of the records on online companies that sell records. Take care, Alan.
Thanks for watching Alan!!
@@EverythingPhilCollins You're welcome! Are you a musician? If so, what instrument(s) do you play?
I agree, you definitely suck when visiting the record shops. I wouldn't ever pass up a decent copy of a record i don't have because it was the first shop. Nutter😂
I'm thankful for the vinyl resurgence, but many unscrupulous record shops are charging too much for the actual value of the recordings.
I agree prices are going up so fast. And not in line with the plant’s cost. But I don’t think I can blame them solely. I know for a lot of them they can’t afford the cost of staffing, and rents are getting jacked in gentrified areas where record stores previously existed unbothered.
That's why it's called "fishing", not "catching"...as the saying goes
Haha true.
mate you got to listen to more then phil and genesis
Ew. Who would do that?
there are lot good bands out there mate have a look at a band called jethro tull
That was your first mistake.....looking for anything in CANUCK land except maple syrup and poutine!! Also, the prices $$$$ are astronomical....beyond reason. Anyhow, if you're STILL
looking for Genesis music and especially Phil "stuff".....you only have yourself to blame.
