Baby (ANSEL ELGORT) - a talented, young getaway driver - relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (LILY JAMES), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (KEVIN SPACEY), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
After the first robbery i though "okay this movie can't be getting better" after this scene i thought "okay NOW it can't be getting better!". Outstanding work by Wright and the whole crew.
ععهههه
The only thing that felt like a letdown was the ending. Shawn of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and Scott Pilgrim had better endings but Wright. Still a whole lot of fun with this one though.
One of the worst movies I've seen in our modern era
@@starwarsroo2448 Then you hadn't watched a lot of films, I see.
@@HartlyLion more than you mate, many many more
The most unrealistic part of this clip is baby's earphones not falling out.
Or his earphones not getting tangled on random things
Baby's cardio and parkour skills is next level.
When both the cops and your pissed-off mates with machine guns are after you, it can be quite motivating.
😂 i thought it
The music is brilliant. The way it slowly escalates with the wipers you feel the intensity with the tempo rising and slowly getting louder. Then the chaos kicks in the truck horn and alarm with gunshots. Then when Bats finally dies we get a piano piece like you failed a video game level. The audio sync from jumping /running to gunshots. Everything is just fantastic. I guess that's what Edgar Wright is for us.
Intermission by Blur was used amazing it feels like that song was made for this scene

Darling put too much faith in her plot armor. Like yeah she survived ridiculously lethal situations before, but even in a mindless action movie, you can't just shoot at a dozen cops out in the open with no cover and expect to live.
Fast and furious should take notes
She was pyrotected by her boyfriend all the time, that s why.
@@unhommequicourthusband
Yeah, buddy helped her in every other scene, and they were doing exactly that, shooting in the open. The one time he doesn't help her, she does her thing alone and gets gunned down, showing that yeah, a stripper doesn't really have that much tactical thinking
I can’t believe I just noticed that when his iPod gets destroyed and all the music is gone you can hear Baby’s Tinnitus full force. This movie is a masterpiece of sound and just genius.
This movie has the BEST chase scenes, be it by car or by foot. The editing, music, stunt choreography, acting... the plot may be lacking but everything else is a masterpiece, really
Thing is the rest is so good that the plot is forgiven so easy
@@bullshark3771 oh yeah indeed xD
Its more impressive when this movie was done with only 30M budget
Despite the amount of positive reviews this movie gained, it's merely a fun picture to look at, not an interesting book to read.
@@pballfan We're here to watch a movie, not read a book. You seem to believe that despite all its positive reviews it still isn't good by your comment, but the biggest things when watching a movie is the sound production and visual quality, which it did phenomenal on both parts, the music is on beat with every scene and every scene is packed full of interesting content that reminds me of a badass GTA sequence but with some interesting drama intermingled between. Books are gonna be very different with visualizations, if implemented right, it could be a great book.
I like how Darling's hair flies back as if the bullets are going through her... The attention to detail is just chef's kiss
i like how the shots are hitting darling
(Spoiler warning)
At the end of the film I’m glad they had all the witnesses’ testimonies, especially the lady who owned the Chevy Caprice.
I’m just surprised they never showed the mother who got her child back thanks to Baby.
"What did you do Baby! What did you just do?"
"I moved."
🤣🤣🤣
"You moved? I kill you!" 😠
It's kinda similar to
"What are you listening to?"
"Music."
"What are you watching?"
"A movie."
Baby is a jinx. The part where he’s in the car, hot wiring the car and the cops run past him….literally got away right there. All he had to do was act like a calm normal citizen after that
yeah dumb ass move
They had at least 10 cops scooping the area and the cops know babies description from when he got chased after he tried to put on new clothes
It feels to me like he wanted to sell the other two, like he rammed their car intentionally to get polices notice. It probably was their second getaway car which is why they would be heading the same direction.
@@144thousandImmanuel but he could still try to lay low, driving like a maniac certainly won't help you draw any less attention
@@kaogao87 u try driving sloe when u stuffed a job up for a powerful criminal, gettin shot at and chased by police lmao.

Finally some cops that don't have Stormtrooper level accuracy.
Thats some tom cruise-level running we got here.
The fact that Buddy and Darling are keeping up with a teenager running at full sprint (before he starts parkouring at least) while carrying bags of money and full sized weaponry is the real question here.
@@dragonraizen the teenager spent some time in the mall
@@peter-w yes, but at the start of the chase they are right behind him (they even double the corner right after him) despite him running full sprint while they are struggling under the weight.
Now all he needs is a bike, a BMW, and a solo fist fight with the bad guy

The use of music in this scene is so good, like how they match the beats to bullet shots and especially at 3:27 when the store music matches this song so well.
This felt as intense as the chase scenes in my dreams
(if you've had them you'll understand how intense they can feel... The continuous ducking and hiding and being caught and stunting all over the place again)

I love how baby's finger isn't actually on the trigger when he pulls the gun on that lady.
you don't put your finger on the trigger till you are ready to shoot and in this case, he was just threatening her so there was no need
Trigger discipline, my dude.
That and Edgar Wright's attention to details.
That is what you are supposed to do. Makes you less likely to accidentally pull the trigger.
I'm surprised by Baby carrying a gun
i love how he took the time to put his earbuds in before running away XD
Have you seen the movie?
That's kind of a plot point
I love the music direction in this - the gunshots syncing with the guitar beats, just excellent
Just noticed the scene right after Buddy noticed Darling’s dead his head is right beside the red tail light as he chooses to reload the black gun.
Cause when Buddy sees red, you’ll see black.
I didn't notice that
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO BABY?!?!"
"I moved"
🔥🔥🔥
Man I will never forget my first time watching this scene it was soo imersive it blew me away it felt like there was real stakes
0:54 Fun fact: that’s Joe Loya, he robbed banks in the 80’s. He was a technical consultant on the film.
Awesome! Thanks
So...is consulting on movies part of his parole terms? I am guessing he turned his life around...
@@katehu7194 well he took a plea deal for 7 years, after he was released I’m not sure, though he wrote a book while behind bars. According to a Reddit AMA he writes professionally and is trying to break into Hollywood.
@@_JustSomeDude_ I suppose there is redemption for some after all. Good to know 😌
Moral of the story: don’t be a pain in the A to your getaway driver or he will make you feel pain, literally
You can tell who has the most experience and common sense with firearms between Buddy and Darling.
I love how fast he runs, I wish I was fit as him
Baby, through all this chaos, is stilla good kid at heart, throwing the old lady her purse and even apologising, even if he did take her car.
I love how baby was a good guy and didn’t want all this to happen if his team mates yell at him to do shit he just kills them
Baby hated Bats, he doesn’t like murder. And yet Bats’ kill count was enough to set Baby off.
The first time i saw this film, I watched it again when it was over. Its one of my favourites.

No lie. Although, I took one over Vail Colorado during a winter storm, past all the 'snow chains' signs and the cops just waved me past because apparently a Utah license plates means you can ignore snow and ice. It was like using an aircraft carrier for a toboggan, but we lived.
They did I'm pretty sure
Anyone else notice at 6:10 Baby is checking hispulse. I'd never noticed that before but thought it was interesting, like bro the cops are after you, who cares what your heartbeat is.
Then I realized it's likely Baby, without his music, is searching for any kind of beat to help 'bring balance' to his life. Something he's always tried to do through listening to music (also to tune out his tinnitus).
Actually song in the car after and heartbeat are same bpm
@@vw1zard That's EXACTLY what he was looking for.
Those earbuds must be super-glued to his ears to stay on as long as they did.
If Battlefield 4 ever had a live movie John Hamm would be perfect to play as Daniel Recker
Baby reminds me so much of Jesse Pinkman. Young, lost, incredibly talented, but has too much of a conscience to be in the criminal world.
5:14 Its always nice to see stuffs like this, i mean what did you expect? you wield 2 Rifles going akimbo and shit expecting you’d hit anything at all and look bad ass.
heeey, why girl was killed! I came here for her... But... now i must see this movie - it seems good :)
I feel like this scene is a giveaway that Darling isn't actually as good as a shooter as she seems. Not only does she not take cover during her shootout, but she's also shooting each of her guns with one hand even through they're heavy and the effort is throwing off her aim. She's also aiming them way higher than where the cops are. Buddy only has one gun, but he holds it the way you're supposed to hold a gun and he takes out pretty much every cop. Granted, I don't know much about guns, but I can't imagine those ones are easy to use one-handed.
That was a kickass movie!!!
Tunes by Focus and Golden Earing? Classic!
Edgar Wright is the next step in the Cameron Crowe evolutionary tree...
At least he's smart, the way he threw the lady her handbag at 6:58 was awesome
1:20 - the face 😂
Love the last 3 words!
The hell was she thinking? She isn't a movie hero.
Was buddy supposed to be ex military or something? The way he handles the gun seems too professional
That’s John ham brah he’s when you think of professional when it comes to acting
He was supposed to be one of the most dangerous men alive when angry (they didn't specify if he was military or anything though, he was suggested to be from Wall Street until he had a breakdown)
Incredible. 💙 T.E.N.
The biggest plothole is that he really run around with those earphones without yanking them out every time.
Bro most of the shots from buddy and darling are synchronized with the music just like 1:52, 2:16 and the best out of all of them 5:45
I was pleasantly surprised to hear the song 'Hocus Pocus' in the back by the Dutch band Focus (1970's) of whom I still am a big fan.
She's gorgeous
Yes she is
The scene is gorgeous
Thank you
Well, I guess she's fairly attractive for an elderly black lady, but gorgeous is a bit of a stretch.
She’s like 100 years old dude
Loved this movie seen it 3 times in cinemas
I noticed in this scene, cops arrives faster than you could call them. They are also conveniently everywhere to chase people.
It's for dramatic effect. Realistically, baby would've been flanked so fucking hard. They had a bird in the air
Grandmas always drive the coolest cars. That purple classic car is of the hook..
the whole movie, during heists and chases there was always cool music. once i heard the goofy semi-nightmarish music, i knew it was a metaphor that the job was gonna be a shitshow
He is a jinx, that's the point of the film. The team thought they had an ace up their sleeve, but slowly you saw after the first robbery the whole organization falling apart. Add his new girlfriend since he is a jinx to himself as well. He would be out of the corruption and issues if he kept emotions in check, instead he is doing life imprisonment dreaming of what could be his life with Deborah.
I like how he gave her purse back.
He's not a bad guy, he just wants to get out of there ^^
Bro playing gta

Why has no one mentioned how stupid Darling was at the end? She decided, not to take cover like Buddy, but rather walk *closer* to the cops as she unloaded on them. No wonder she got Swiss-cheesed
The music is of the 70th or early 80th. Don't know the band anymore, it's history.
