    Hi all, one update...Cameo is available to everyone now. So even though the video says it is in preview, that is no longer the case.

    Great detail on how to do this! I've used recordings of PPTX, but with a slightly different way to do it so it flows in a different way that worked for my online courses. ✌

      Funny you say that, I used PowerPoint recently to get a recording for a webinar at work. It turned out pretty well.

    Hi Heather, I love your tutorial videos!! I'm stuck on how to get another screen open in my Presentation. How do I do that? (Your Record Option 2)

    • @HeatherMajors
      @HeatherMajors  Před 8 měsíci

      When I demonstrated the Screen Recording button from the Record tab, I had what I wanted to record open on a second monitor. If you are working on a single monitor you may need to minimize the PowerPoint and have the thing you want to record already up in the background.

    Hi Heather, please how can I enhance the sound of my recording? I just did a screen recording on PowerPoint using a headset but during playback I could only hear my voice the other participant talking their voice is so low I could watch watch the presentation and not hear anything. Please how can I fix this so I could hear what she was saying.Thanks

    • @HeatherMajors
      @HeatherMajors  Před rokem

      PowerPoint recording is only going to intake one microphone, it is really a light weight tool and not designed for multiple audio inputs. The other persons voice was probably somehow picked up through your mic and based on your description was probably some distance away, thus the low volume. With the current sound file you cannot boost the audio in PPT, rather a piece of editing software would be needed.
      The only solution I can think of is have each of you record your own audio one at a time. IE. You record your part, save the file, and then let her record her part and save. Then arrange the audio files to play in the correct sequence. The thing I feel compelled to point out is that PPT is not meant to complex videos so it may take a bit of work to get it to work our correctly.

    I compared screen recording in Camtasia and Powerpoint, and of course Camtasia won. The qulaity of video in Power Point is less.

    • @HeatherMajors
      @HeatherMajors  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a fair point Samir. Camtasia is a paid full featured program and PowerPoint recording is a free feature. I also use Camtasia for my video production but do find PowerPoint to be a reasonable alternative for those who don't have access to Camtasia.

    Great video! Thank you. I do have a question. How do you zoom in or magnify certain sections of a slid for emphasis when you record a power point? Is that an option?

    • @HeatherMajors
      @HeatherMajors  Před rokem

      Steve, what you are suggesting is something that would be done in an actual video editor. PowerPoint is not that sophisticated when it comes to recording. One thing I use when doing PowerPoint presentations is a free software called PenAttention. It creates a colored halo around my mouse to help people focus on what I am trying to point out. A second free software is called zoomit that will zoom on on your screen and if you happen to have a PowerPoint on the screen it zooms in on that. It is not going to looks as nice as using a real video editing software but it could do if needed. While I use both free software programs for live demonstrations, as always use your best judgement about which ones you feel comfortable putting on your computer. I am not an admin so I don't know what implications the software may have in your organization.

    Can I improve my sound volume for all the slides in one click ? Cuz in default it's showing medium i need high volume

      @HeatherMajors  Před rokem

      Hi I looked through all the settings and did not find a master volume control. The interesting thing is mine is set to High by default. That makes me wonder if the default is auto selected based on system resources.

    How you do zoom while recording

    • @HeatherMajors
      @HeatherMajors  Před 9 měsíci +1

      Hi, I use editing software called Camtasia. It allows me to use a zoom animation to move the focus around on the screen so your eyes don't have to look all over the screen to see what I am trying to point out :)
