CZ 75B vs 75B Omega Trigger Systems - what are the differences? Is one "better"? Which to buy?

- CZ doesn't make it easy to understand what the options actually are. We take a deep dive today trying to understand what the differences are of the two action types so you can make an informed decision.
Guys new to the CZ 75B/ 75O platform will often ask the difference. The difference is subtle and I'll say that outside of the academic difference in the trigger pulls they won't necessarily affect your ability to use the pistol. If you MUST have THE BEST trigger pull then drop in a full action kit in the 75B action, but the Omega kit is appreciably less and the end result isn't super far off, in my opinion.
The bottom line is the Omega system is newer and easier to work on if you plan on armorer level stripping. If you are using the pistol for bullseye you may be able to detect the difference and appreciate it, but for action pistol or just punching paper I wouldn't get too wrapped up in it.
Out of the box the Omega will have the better single action with a "soft" creepy wall for a rolling break (very shootable at speed) whereas the wall on the standard 75 will be more clearly defined, still a bit creepy, then a break. The DA stacks more on the Omega.
The convertible Omega triggers require their OWN molds for kydex. The forward swept decocker will require a different mold from the traditional 75 action but you can modify the holster body to accept it by notching it to clear the decocker.

Wow. No loud music opening, no lame jokes, and a couple of honest "I don't know" statements instead of mis-information. What a NOVEL IDEA! I have been looking at the CZ platform recently thinking I might add one to my pile of toys as an example of the basis for the Bren 10 I have lusted after (unsuccessfully) for the last 30 years. This video gave me all the information I was looking for as well as some I didn't KNOW I needed until I heard it. Great video. Thank you. Keep it up. Some of us out here like the lack of BS.
just found your channel purchased a cz97b today next one will be the cz75b. great videos no crappy music or goofy graphics just good information. top shelf. and you got a new subscriber.
Thanks for a very clear video. I’m looking at the P-01 as my next handgun and couldn’t figure out the (real) difference between the regular version and the omega. You made it very clear. Thanks. 👍
Trying to decide between the SP-01 Tactical Urban Gray and P-01 Urban Grey Omega for a host, and this is an excellent video. Thank you.
Thanks, that was a real quality education amongst and singly on the CZ’s!
thanks for the good sense information on the CZ75. ordered a CZ75 DB after trying one at my club. I like old school mostly SSA REVOLVERS. HAVE A GLOCK 19X and was having a bad time thinking it was me, put a Timney trigger which did help, but I still believed it was just me. A range person said try this CZ75 compact, WOW! I shot like a target pro the first 5 rounds. I asked if it was reworked and he said NO. 25 more rounds and I ordered them, My friend was going through the same with his Glock and shot better with his new SSA so he tried the CZ.. Same better target scoring. we ordered two CZ75s. time will tell when they come in. thanks
Great review! I'm still learning about CZs so it's nice to have more info about the triggers. Thanks brother
+KSGunGuy 01 they can be made really nice regardless of action. Not bad out of the box
Nice video! Just bought my first CZ a compact steel frame with safety. Installed a CGW Pro Kit. Love it!
Right on they are awesome pistols.
Thanks for the comparison. I really enjoy my new-ish P-01 and I'm thinking about maybe an Omega as well. Or a PCR. Or basic compact This info was very useful. Thanks.
Thanks, lots of solid info, as usual, great review.
Thank you. That was enormously helpful.
Glad it helped. Cheers.
Great video! Ive got both and honestly, they shoot about the same. I do like my omega 75b in urban grey just a tad more. But I'd use either one for home defense.
I used to like Omegas better - and do for their trigger shape and decocker - but I like the feel of the traditional 75B trigger a bit more.
Thank you, sir. I've wondered about the difference between the two. I have heard that the omega trigger was simpler and more robust.
Cheers
Great info/video. Helped a lot. Thanks
Cheers, glad it helped!
Great video. I am super jealous of your P-01 Omega. i have never seen one "in the wild". so i finally just got the standard. I've had a p-07 for a few years now, and put some cajun goodness in it and LOVE the trigger.... getting ready to do similar with the standard P-01, but it's almost twice as expensive and WAY more intimidating. but hey, at least i've got one, i guess. Keep up the good work, those detail shots are hard to get and you did great.
The traditional 75's aren't too bad to work on - it's the decocker/sear cage that is apparently a total bear. From what I understand you can leave that bit alone and still get great results, but I've never pulled apart a traditional decocker.
If I had one - and assuming you don't have to pull it apart - I would just put the Competition Hammer and the SRS 2 kit from Cajun in and put a good bit of polish/smoothing on the trigger bar, sides of hammer, and round off the corners of the hammer strut and give it an amazing polish, as well as the corresponding sides of the frame where those parts rub. That will keep the cost down to like $150-ish. The reduced power trigger return spring isn't worth it for that half pound on DA you have a less authoritative swing forward.
So far my list is the Reduced Reach kit (so it fits my small, childlike hands) the short reset kit (required for the reach kit, and an awesome addition), reduced power pin block spring, maybe reduced power trigger return, and a lot of hand polishing. I did a similar setup in my P07 and got the DA pull down to right around 8 lbs with minimal stacking, with a 3.5lb SA, and LOVE the trigger. If i skipped any, it would probably indeed be that reduced power trigger spring, but i have to pull the trigger anyway for the reduced reach kit.
End goal is similar to the P07, at or below 8lb SA, with a 3.5-4.5lb SA, crisping everything up.
unfortunately, all of my metal frame CZs are decockers... so i have to deal with the seer cage. but i'll get by, and it'll lend itself to some awesome for sure.
gotcha - probablem with all those Cajun goodies is they throw you out of Production / SSP with the pistols. The disconnector isn't strictly required IMO if you need to save a little cash.
Great comparison video man.
Glad you enjoyed it. thanks for watching.
Excellent comparison. Came across your channel today, great stuff...sub'd!
I have a PCR, really like the pistol but I don't like the rear swept decoker either.
I have wanted a P-01 Omega since I first saw one last year. I have had one on order with my LGS since January...saw there were a few online so decided to grab one.
+mylifechoices nice you should be happy with it, they are great pistols
Great review man!
I have a 75d PCR and a 75b Omega, love them both! Personally I really can’t tell any difference between the two when practicing my da/sa self defense drills! But if I had one thing to like over the other it would be the trigger on the Omega due to its smooth straighter shape. It doesn’t beat up your trigger finger!
have both love both, replaced hammer spring to 15# made a difference, that and low light sight (tritium)
Good job. Explaining
I got a p01. And struggled. On getting the 07 lol
Now. I still am
Vs Cancun gun works on my P 01
Great Vid Brother, I appreciate ya! Bloopers were funny! Carry On!
+Big Johnson Guns & Gear thanks for checking in
Big J, I know you have the 07 as do I. Have you shot the 75 Omega in this video if so is the trigger on it better than the 07? Thanks in advance.
Nice comparison, but OH! was that Hard Abrasive Tile under the pistols?
Did I see 'chipped paint" or some other finish removed on the Omega?
The poly coat wears on the corners from holster rub. It was an outdoor table we had that had tile
Great comparison and great video @TheHumbleMarksman
Both triggers are good and will serve you well.
In my CZ 75b omega I did the CGW extended firing pin, 13 lb hammer spring, heavier sear spring and polishing of internals. That alone made the DA lighter and smoother. The stacking is still there in DA but there is noticeably less now. The heavier sear spring reduced the creep in SA so its almost gone. I haven't gotten any light primer strikes the past 1k rounds shooting all kinds of factory ammo.
In my P-01 I have the CGW pro kit installed and the trigger is superior to the omega trigger in every aspect. But I don't shoot this gun any better than my 75b omega. Moral of the story: triggers don't matter that much unless you're a baller and have tons of cash laying around😂
lol yeah - triggers have a place - but technique trumps gear at a point.
Excellent review. I noticed that the front of the slide is different on the Omaga as opposed to the 75B (nice two tone on your 75B by the way) resembling the more traditional Hi Power slide. is this standard on the Omaga?
The high power cuts are only prevalent in the 75B models - the PCR and P-01 alloy frames don't have the highpower cuts. the 75B Omega Convertible does have highpower cut - but SP01, P01, PCR models do not.
Got it, Marksman. I have the the 75B Omaga on order with JG Sales ($489). Their photo shows it with the H P cut which I prefer. You are more than worth my subscription. A very through reviewer.
When you try to use the cz website on your phone rip. this info is great
It got a crack on the display but doesn't affect functionality lol.
Thanks for the video. Can the Omega version be converted to single action only?
Matthew de Paula
Yeah cocked and locked
Have you tried or considered swapping out the decocker for a manual safety on the P-01 omega?
No interest in a safety , would rather have the DA
I like the design of the pistol but I have a problem reaching DA triggers a lot of the time. Therefore cocked and locked could be a good choice. And the Omega lever looks like it’s placed better than the traditional 75 action.
Will the "double action" on my new (100 rounds) get better with use? Thanks and I really enjoy your reviews
+Jim Gordon the contact points will wear and smooth out with use, but I wouldn't expect a big decrease in pull weight from use. If you need it to lighten in double action Cajun Gunworks or CZCustom can take care of you. My DA on my omega is over 12 lbs. I will be amazed if it breaks 11. I can hit with it and use it as a warm up for my competition guns (DAs of 7.5 lbs).
TheHumbleMarksman Thanks
I honestly can't imagine how much better the Omega trigger is from the basic B. The basic B is pretty damn awesome to me. :)
-Jen
+Girls Like Guns, Too the SA is easier to shoot quickly IMO, but the DA is harder. The difference is not dramatic, they are all awesome. Makes me want to buy a regular P01 just to compare
75B best handgun I have ever fired period
I have the P 07 and am interested in the 75 Omega. Is the 75 Omega have a better trigger than the 07? I just like to have range fun and carry my 07 on my side when I big game hunt in case we have wild boar coming our way to keep them off us. Thank you in advance.
I would honestly recommend a P-09. The big draw of the 75 Omega is it takes 75 magazines. You've got one gun with P series mags - I'd get another gun that shares those magazines so you can use your P09 in the P07 for plinking. That - and the plastic omega triggers are usually a little lighter than the steel/alloy framed ones I've experienced. Plus you'd have holster commonality - the 07 will fit in 09 holsters.
EXCELLENT REVIEW !!!!! THANKS
Thanks for watching!
But which one should I buy?
What model is the silver framed one?
It's a 75C Duo Tone. They're on again/off again models - they don't keep them in production all the time.
I thought the main difference between Omega and “classic” B was that “classic” B is either safety or decocker (separate models), whereas Omega is both in one. Can someone either confirm that or correct me?
please tell me if the barrels are interchangeable. thank you!
only have the P01 now - sorry man.
Great video my friend. Very well done.
Thank you sir!
Do you think there is any difference in trigger reach? The old style sweeps forward but it's so curved I can't tell.
The recurve provides better reach but poorer leverage to pull the trigger
@@TheHumbleMarksman Thanks! I actually want a longer reach, so between that and the decocker positioning I'll probably go omega.
thanks for the videos.
thanks for watching!
can you go over good upgrades for the omega?
All that I'd recommend is an extended firing pin, reduced power firing pin spring, a 13# hammer spring. You can maybe do a floating trigger pin with a Shadow 2 trigger return spring as well - but that's all I'd recommend for a carry gun.
Which of the two if either has a shorter trigger reach?
Tough to say. Probably the omega trigger though you can shorten the reach on the 75s
great vid
Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Hello there. You are getting close to 500 subs....so cool. Your doing great friend.
Closing in on it! been taking some time off since area 6 but plan to get back into it here soon. You settle in on a division yet or still bouncing between PRD and LIM?
I took a month off too from shooting. I shoot Limited 10 most of the time. Limited will be exactly the same soon...10 round mags.
That's a tragedy. I hope you guys gain the political will to stop that march. ugh. I hate to even entertain the thought.
TheHumbleMarksman I'm just adjusting....at least it will level the playing field with guys running 30 round plus mags. I wonder how much STI 10 rounders cost?
Dawson Precision sells them for $72 apiece... I would call the guys at CZ-USA and see what their timeline is for offering 10 round TS magazines.
I’m taking the omega for its simplicity. The simplicity also increases reliability for the simple fact their are less moving parts
I like the trigger shape and hammer shape better on the omega. If you aren't going full monty trigger job then I think the Omega is better. I would also argue that full monty trigger job is unnecssary.
hi, i actually have to buy a gun, and i don't now wichi gun is better to start with.
can u give me some adivse to have the right gun to start?
sorry for the English (i'm french)
have a nice day
I'm not sure what options you have. If you're going to carry it, something like a CZ P-01, P-07, 75 Compact, or PCR is perfect, in Europe you may have access to Tanfoglio Witnesses, Sarsilmarz (or however it's spelled). Anything from Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Glock, Walther, Heckler & Koch should all be OK. Put a bunch of pistols in your hand in the store if you can and figure out which one feels best. If it's not for carry but home defense then a larger pistol is better. (4.25", 4.5" or even 5"+ Barrels). I don't know what calibers are available to you, but 9mm is a pretty good choice. If we're talking IPSC, production Division CZ Shadow 2, Standard Division Tanfoglio Limited, Open Tanfoglio Elite Gold Team. There is starting to be non JHP defensive ammo that you might be able to get over there that will perform better than FMJ.
TheHumbleMarksman
Thank you for all this adivse.
My 75BD is off to Cajun gun works.. like the gun sure I’ll like it even more..
nice guns man, i gabe the 75b omega and i love it so much
They're pretty slick.
If you could have only one, would it be the 75b or 75b omega triger?
I like the frame better on the 75B Omega, and I like the trigger a bit better on the 75b. Depends how much of a trigger snob you are.
Thanks, but if you have to choose one, which would it be?
Mate Čaljkušić in some areas of the world there is the 75B new - I would do that one - or the Shadow Line 75. If I can’t have those and just the two models you are mentioning - probably the 75B omega by a razor thin margin
I had the shadow 1, it was i nice gun but I didn't like the look of it, I prefer the classic lines of the 75. Here in Croatia you can buy both new the 75b and 75b omega conv.
nice ARX 9mm is that the +p?
It is indeed. Feeds great and is very easy to manage while being quite accurate.
I have the omega but i do know people seem to like older ones better but for the decocker its just what u have to give up. For a decocker i can live with it! Besides there's guns that are alot worse!
I have noticed in pictures the omega seems to have a more defined beaver tail vs the standard CZ
+7Revelations7 on the full size, yes, the P01 vs P01O the frames seem identical. The same thing with the stainless 75B vs the classic
TheHumbleMarksman thanks!
Nice informative video by the way was that a rat or mice that ran by
+john garnett chipmunk. Those are all over
you need a kadet for those cz.lol
I have an air rifle, for pests, but I've yet to have it handy when the chipmunks are out.
Very good vdo
Get that chipmunk!
nice review. You sure know a lot. :)
+Bald&curious cheers! Come shoot NC Section and we can squad!
TheHumbleMarksman when is it ?
+Bald&curious sign up opens 5/29 at 8P. I am looking at shooting it SAT PM. It is a half day format match - meaning all stages shot in like 4-5 hours
My CZ75B has a "short" double action pull (compared to a Beretta 92FS) That's why I DONT "half pull"(stage) on my CZ.
I always decocked all the way with my CZs I was carrying.
@@TheHumbleMarksman I don't have a "decocker" but use my left thumb to lower the hammer on an empty chamber but full magazine.
Omega is a much cheaper trigger group to manufacture, and it allows for MIM parts.
Original 75 trigger group is a better group even though it has more parts, and the use of MIM parts will be problematic due to the "fiddly" size of the cage, which creates to high of a chance of typical MIM type failure.
Omega is perfect for military orders because military does not care about creep stacking and long resets, and militery sure does not care about custom tuning.
If you want to get a duty gun get the cheaper Omega, if you want to fiddle around and tune your CZ, go with original 75 trigger group.
unmodified the omega trigger is better in my opinion. The omega trigger shape is better than the 75 recurve. But yeah - a proper 75 action tuned up is obscene. The FPB is a tragedy - I wish that they just sold regular old 75's and not 75Bs. The 75s seem like they would be less costly to manufacture.
@@TheHumbleMarksman Trigger itself is an easy swap, and the shape of the trigger depends on personal preference and hand size.
I prefer PCR trigger to 75 Compact specifically becasue it has serrations, while others hate it and swap it out.
FPB is a requirement for a drop safe pistol, so they can get away with Shadow becasue it's a sporting pistol, but anything for carry has to have a FPB.
Good stuff though, I love CZs and I do work on my CZs ;)
Soooo everyone is going to act like we didn't notice the critter pop on the seen at 0:24 lol
yeah we had a lot of squirrels / Chipmunks back in GA lol.
Over in the East Texas Piney Woods we call 'em "lunch", "dinner", sometimes "bait".
You can do the old push on the cocked hammer on an empty chamber trick. Lightens by 1/2 lb on 1911s as well. Shhhhhh.....
Hahaha is that a mouse running around at 0:25?
Chipmunk!
Skinny Buddha
That was a bionic Crocostimpy!
I just asked my gun dealer to keep an eye out for a P01 omega. It might take several weeks him to find one for me, but I'm willing to wait.
+Kyle Rainer I wouldn't walk past a good deal on a regular P01 but I do like my Omega a lot. Just make sure the person you buy a holster from has molds for the Omega P01. Odds are you can notch the shell if they don't.
Thank you, man!
Kyle Rainer I've been waiting for over a month now. It's paid for and everything. 😕
The one I bought was the second one I've seen in person. The first being when they first came out. Not sure why the omega convertibles aren't more prevalent.
I think CZ has a fullproof marketing strategy where they never make their guns available. They then become the stuff of legends, and people are more satisfied when they finally get their hands on a CZ, because they're hard to get.
It's kinda like when a woman consistently sleeps with another woman's boyfriend. She knows she can't have him all the time, and it makes her want him that much more.
CZ 75B Omega is a little longer gun, you can check on website. www.czub.cz/en/firearms-and-products-product/cz-75-b-o
Beautiful guns, getting into pistols and there's no way in hell ima be a glock guy.
Great choice
the one in your hand is cz 75 p-01 omega. but there is no cz 75 B with you. CZ 75B are longer full size pistols
Yeah I have one - it was a B Compact... which has the same action as a 75B therefore is a valid comparison
Ambidextrous controls is not really an advantage. In reality that means you will have one unused control adding extra weight and width.
if you convert to SAO - it is an advantage to make sure you don't accidently actuate the safety should you find yourself shooting support hand only. I don't disagree on decocker model.
Longer the color on the 75
If that was a chipmunk that's a good sign 👌
My glocks da trigger is better. Said the glock fan boy who's never shot any other gun.
Yikes. Guns sitting on bricks.....scratch o matic.
+Florida Real Estate Channel it's a tile table
+TheHumbleMarksman lol my match gun fell out of my holster in a walk through today when I was moving aggressively
Pistols are not revolver, do not thumb cock a pistol.. the slide cocks the pistol’s hammer.
Lol
