    18 ga sting is all I play with now as I’m nearing 58 years. It’s been a pleasure to switch it up. I’m also having it strung at 48 like you! Thanks so much for this Chanel and your immaculate style and speak. Spot🤘🏻

    Thank you so much for your review!!! An awesome video with nice views :) I like Cyclone strings. I use Cyclone 19 but I'm losing a little control sometimes, so I was thinking to try Cyclone 18. So, I Appreciate so much your review. I will try it!!

    Thanks for the shout! Glad you got to try the 18L, I still stick with the 18 so was wondering how they compare. Its definitely not a super durable string but it holds its playability for at least a week which is what I need it for. Great review!

      Thank you Jug for providing, really enjoyed it. More of just a play test didn't get so far into the technical review but it was a fun one! Felt like a pro for that moment

    Not easy to get alot of 18L strings over here, but my favourite for 18x20s - give Volkl V-Square a shot sometime if you like soft poly with suuuuper spin potential, hope you had a good Christmas and have a great new year brother

    • @EvokeTennis
      @EvokeTennis  Před 3 lety

      For sure I just picked up an 18x20 from being a long time 16x19 guy so definitely looking for those thinner strings to bring some life into it. Merry Christmas and happy new year to you too 👊🏽

    Love your videos bud. By far the best reviews of tennis strings. I enjoy the combo of commentary and game footage. Would love to see review of hybrid strings with natural gut in the main. I’m having arm issues and switched to hybrid with gut in the main and it’s been great for my arm and I still get good spin and control. Not sure what to use as the cross though or tension so would appreciate hearing your commentary.

    • @EvokeTennis
      @EvokeTennis  Před 3 lety

      Thanks so much for watching and your nice comment! Been playing with a few hybrids recently. I wouldn't usually recommend poly cross if you have arm issues but since you're using gut you could look at Cream 17 or Poly Tour Air, both being some of the softer poly strings compared to a lot of the field. Keep getting to the bottom of what's causing your arm issues. Stretching, theragun, flexbar, gua sha, warming up, loosening grip etc all can potentially help. You might already know those but I find a lot of people don't

    • @chamonix54
      @chamonix54 Před 3 lety

      @@EvokeTennis ok cool. Not familiar with those strings. Have luxilon alu power in the crosses now with gut in mains, but only have used for 2 sessions. Loved it, I somehow now can go head to head in baseline battles and win against guys with huge forehands. I was thinking I should find a cross with better tension maintenance than alu power, was thinking of trying PTP. Wish I could try hyper G cuz you and others rave about it, I have heavy topspin in both sides, and I’ve never hit with a poly before (mainly used head rip control) but it’s probably a bad idea for my arm.

      @chamonix54 Před 3 lety

      @@EvokeTennis thx for the suggestions on tools for arm injury. I have shoulder impingement from a bone spur, and serving with the impingement led to a partial rotator cuff tear. Been in pain for 7 months now. Working with PT and ortho. Working my butt off with PT. I’m doing well with recovering, hoping PT, good warm up, and using lively/powerful strings will lead to 100% recovery.

    Nice review, and great location - like tennis heaven! I use Vokl Cyclone 1.25 and now 1.30 in a hybrid with X-One Biphase to give some pop and softness as the Cyclone is quite low powered. I like the Cyclone a lot and prefer it to the Babolat RPM Blast. Cyclone I find plays better the longer you play.

    • @EvokeTennis
      @EvokeTennis  Před 3 lety

      Thank you, nice setup with the x-1 that's a great idea, figured it would chew through the pricey x-1 but maybe worth it!

  • @gavlatennis2824
    @gavlatennis2824 Před 3 lety

    Been trying a load of 1.20mm gauge strings over the last few months. Whilst they are better in terms of feel, touch, power and even decent control if you get the tension right, they do lose tension much faster compared to the same 1.25mm strings. Good choice if you don't mind stringing slightly more frequently.

    • @EvokeTennis
      @EvokeTennis  Před 3 lety +1

      Definitely and it's even faster with 1.15, but totally worth it for big matches and keeping the comfort front and center
