I appreciated your thoughts on not worrying about how “useful” a language is. It can be a motivational factor, but curiosity in a language or the culture and enjoying how the language sounds are also valid factors. When I tell people I’m interested in Pashto I usually get questioned on its “usefulness” but that misses the point. You get it! 😀
