I really gotta figure out why my audio goes nuts sometimes; sorry if it sounds blown out at some points. 😅 How's everybody doing? What would you want to see in a mintyPi v4? 🤔
I have a friend who did the minty pi concept to a ps vita and it can emulate psp, ds, 3ds (no actual 3d), n64, ps, and ps2, and a bunch of other consoles and conputer games. It uses the original screen of the vita somehow. Since he has a lot of space inside he added usb ports to connect various controllers using adapters and a keyboard, depending on what game he's playing. He's making another and is trying to put in a different screen capable of 4k. But he's not using a pi for this one. Its custom made parts and everything that he's ordering through various companies. This one should be able to play older pc games. Like skyrim and things from around that era. Which is pretty cool. He wants to run a linux software on it. He's basically going for a portable handheld gaming pc. He 3d printed an ergonomic back to replace the one on there. Its pretty cool.
Love your work and dedication, my man. Still, would be great if people could just have an option to click a link including every single part needed to building a whole unit. PCB's, printed parts, tin etc, instead of fishing through multiple links and sites, not knowing if everything needed would be included or even compatible.
I’ve had everything lying around waiting for the pcb to be back but now helper has removed it from his website. I’m wondering if I’ll ever see it again?
omg the tactile switches remind me so much of the GBA SP that's exactly what this handheld needed. Especially being foldable like the SP. I'd buy one but the parts are waaaay too pricey for me. But i want others to buy one and support what these guys doing so they can continue to make these for a long time.
I'm trying to make this as well this is so cool I got everything except the 3d printed part that I order a week ago,I really concerning about that the only problem cant wait to do this
The website says that all of the custom PCB's are unlikely to ever be made again, but the mintyPi lite is still available. Does this mean that the mintyPi 4 is coming soon? should I wait until it releases to buy stuff for version 4 or should I just go for the lite version? Don't really care how long I wait, just want to know if version 4 is in the works.
I'm seeing kits are, sadly, pretty much sold out and maybe not coming back. But I also saw the Radxa Pi zero board is out, and it is a complete BEAST compared to the Pi zero. And I'm hoping that, if compatible for this project, you guys do either a 3.5 relaunch, or a 4.0 version of the board! Imagine the incredible things your altoids tin DIY game system can do, with a quad core processor at nearly 2 ghz and 4 gigs of ram, over the Raspberry Pi Zero 1 core 1ghz, and 512mb ram.
I just stumbled upon this amazing project. My Manager gave me an altoids can and said do something with it and I really want to do this bit the links are broken! Please make an updated version this looks awesome!
Something I've always been curious about with these projects. I'm a fan of the Sega Genesis, as I'm sure many people are. But something I've always wondered is if there's a way to add extra buttons to the boards to add C and Z, just like a Genesis 6 button gamepad. I know button remapping is a thing, but having it closer to a more "authentic" feel just sounds cool to me
Seeing as we now need to be drilling more holes, for the second L and R buttons, can you please go over where those holes are going to be. The only information I get is a redirection to printing out the guide or buying the guide from you but I do not wish to do either if I can prevent it. I work in a machine shop and I can make the holes exactly where they need to go I just need to know where to put them.
in a newer rp4 compute module, put just switches and battery on top of box, and all components (screen+compute module) in the bigger part, cose buttons will be not plunget
The pre-order parts do say they come with everything needed to put the mintyPi 3.5 together, I assume that includes the buttons as well? (I'm still waiting on the electronics board for mintyPi Lite, but bought everything else I need. )
So, I've been interested in this project for a while, I was wondering if the mintypi was capable of running media files through a player, like an MP3 audio file, or a low res video?

Man mintyPi keeps evolving, feels like yesterday that it was on v1.
For real I remember watching the video and thinking this was the coolest thing ever
I know right! Seeing that when It came out was so cool.
This comment aged like milk

Lol same. Its really coll
Me too

I’ve also been here since mintypi V1. I have always said “aww I want one of those!” And now I’ve placed the order on a V3.5!
If you guys have discontinued selling the parts, would you be willing to put up a pcb gerber or something so we can get them made?
Please 🙏🙏
Helder is like a hidden genius. It's like he does everything behind the scenes to make all of these cool projects awesome.
you know he has a youtube channel right?
its Helder Silva
@@ktzenigma5044 i didn't. But I follow him on instagram.
This has to be my favorite Altoid tin project I’ve seen. Little dioramas are definitely up there too. Have wanted one of these for the longest time
can you make an updated 2023 version please
Love your work and dedication, my man.

I got the minty pi light. I can’t believe that it has made it this far. Feels like version one just came out! Keep up the good work!
Love the show love the content it's very interesting and I love the way you make things work IQ level 99999 respect from the Philippines good job
I've loved this project from the beginning! It's CRAZY to see how far this has come along! I commend you on so many levels!
I’ve had everything lying around waiting for the pcb to be back but now helper has removed it from his website. I’m wondering if I’ll ever see it again?
Can’t wait until they start shipping the parts for this! Kit looks great, as always-should be a fun little build and even more fun to show off.
I think the next big step in this project is finding a way to make the screen span across the whole top lid. I can’t wait to see what you do next.
I love tiny handhelds whats even cooler is that you put all that into a Altoids tin thats awesome!!
Giveaways are epic, too bad I'm too scared to ever enter one.
Scared of what?? 😅 Dooooo iiiiiiit.
Wut?
@Louie McMillian email, you usually would input that in the giveaway before it would give you a entry
I am loving so many updates to the minty pie :D I love that green color!
Awesome, Wermy. I l9ve how passionatw you are about the mintypi, since the beginning.
I loooove this form factor And the fact that are recicling the Altoids box
The MintyPi looks awesome! Man, I wish I had the skills to put one of these beauties together! 🤘🏻
Yeah it’s soooooooooooooo good I love the idea and all the versions yet really looking forward to more
Love your videos everything you do is awesome
Can't wait to see a mintyPi powered by the Compute Module 4!
Looking for the PCB and can't find it. Would love to build this!
Looks Great!!!
Ooooh i see a lot of improvement!
I want it soo much Thanks for GIVEAWAY!!!
I love your vids bro have a good day:)

I would LOVE to buy one of these!!!! Especially since the v3 mintyPi was sold out.
I dont know why, but when he said the brim helps allign it perfectly 9/10 times, I couldnt help but think of toothpaste commercials
Love this project
Just ordered everything, hopefully this works :)
How did it go?
I love it!
been here since the original pi zero, pretty sick man
Awesome!!!
Nice shirt, LV-426 Jurassic Park style.
Have almost the same, grey, more shot up :P
Nice work
Would be really awesome to have one of these. Maybe I will build one someday.

Currently I'm working on a g-boy, but I'll definitely be keeping my eye on the mintypi until I finish that
Honestly the mintypi is the perfect first system to build.
@@plasmagaming1886 it definitely seems like it, and it'll be a cool little emulation machine just to have after it's done
@@lumppump1182 helder is also really helpful and doesn’t bot any of his emails.
This is dope

I hope to finally get to build mine
I remember I saw I think version 2 of this back in 2016. IIRC, it was the one that was red (I can't really remember it it has been so long)
SUPER COOL
👏👏👏
truly beautiful... 😍🍻🍰
Dude that's sick(in a good way)
I just stumbled upon this amazing project. My Manager gave me an altoids can and said do something with it and I really want to do this bit the links are broken! Please make an updated version this looks awesome!
I remember watching his videos since I was in the 5th grade

Aaaa maaaazingggggggg
thanks!
I’ve already got a hacked New 2DS with a ton of emulators so I don’t really need this, but DANG I want it for the cool factor.
Awesome
You should make one of these with the bob ross mint tins.
Wow this look awesome
Im not a fan of welding
Do u sell them by any chance? I would love to play final fantasy tactics on it
I lack even the most basic level of skill and hand eye coronation to make one of these but damn is it interesting watching the progress of this
I've been watching all of your videos and is there a place where i can buy this?
Now that the CM4 came out you should try doing a version of the Minty pie using the Compute module 4 or the compute module 3
i keep seeing this in recomended so i decided to wathc it
Seeing as we now need to be drilling more holes, for the second L and R buttons, can you please go over where those holes are going to be. Is there anyway to add a left analog stick ( a small one , ie, 3ds) to a future revision?
These have always been insane to me how they can literally be put into an altoids tin
in a newer rp4 compute module, put just switches and battery on top of box, and all components (screen+compute module) in the bigger part, cose buttons will be not plunget
I just wish the bottom was flush where the buttons are. Raising it somehow would probably make it more comfortable.
The pre-order parts do say they come with everything needed to put the mintyPi 3.5 together, I assume that includes the buttons as well? (I'm still waiting on the electronics board for mintyPi Lite, but bought everything else I need. )
Actually, I guess I bought my buttons separately last time too.
Have you ever seen the heavy duty altoids like tins from countycom do they work?
When will the parts be back in stock? The minty pi v3.5 board that helder sells is out of stock. are there other shops that sell the motherboard?
Please come back and make more things. I miss you. Lol
Do you have a list I can get on to purchase parts when available? MintyPi v4? Hope to use my new 3D Printer to print. Thanks for everything you do!
Done all the step❤️
Hope I can win this cute things😊
Love u 😘
Matte screens are great, with glossy screens, it's annoying if you have one light behind you or something
Is there a way to get a replacement screen for the mintyPi v3?
I ordered the parts for a mintypi lite a few months back, but the button pcb was out of stock. Am I out of luck, or will this new pcb work for me?
will there be a minty pi variant for the new Comp Module 4 or is it too big for a tin can?
Aight then.
Um hi if we want to build do we use permanent glue or tape u used in vid?
is it possible to use the raspberry pi zero 2 w board on this? (idk about this kinda stuff just curious)
Can someone give me a list of everything i need for this? From screen to software etc. Thanks in advance
Ideas for the ultimate minty pi: HDMI port, bigger OLED Screen.
Love your Vids, keep it up ❤️👍
So the kits are for sale, but I can’t buy the screws, will those go up later?
So, I've been interested in this project for a while, I was wondering if the mintypi was capable of running media files through a player, like an MP3 audio file, or a low res video?
Wonder if it would be possible to add an OLED screen to one of these...
Love this channel , I just discored this..
Will Helder sell the pre soldered parts again for v3.5?
cool
Nice dude 999999999 iq thats very compatible for trips and long rides
Hey can you please make the kit buy able again I want to build this but I can’t find the pcb any where 🥺
noice
I hope I win! My mintypi lite ended up being a huge flop since the screen wouldn’t fit in the print.
is it bad that I want to get/make one to code a minecraft clone for it? complete with multiplayer over Bluetooth/Wifi?
Is it possible to do a MintyPi-like retro console with the Pi 4 and analog sticks (don't care if they are 3DS sliders)?
I'm not sure if I just missed it or something but did one of your teeth get chipped or broke?
I'm sorry if this seems rude or hostile
Neato, If i somehow win this i will give it to my Linuxnerd friend.
I'm hoping to see a minty pi with the newer raspberry pi 2 overclocked
Wonder if the cm4 can fit in an altoids tin
