  • Guide catheter extensions are useful tools to cross difficult lesions. This short case demonstrates one of the technical caveats of using Guideliners in delivering stents across calcified lesions.

    I had a similar case &force-focused angioplasty helped easy passage of the stent

    Had you used an AL.75 guide, you may have had enough support to pass the stent without having to use the guideliner.

      I agree. Starting PCI without guide support is a recipe for failure. But it’s easier to use guide extension rather than changing the guide in the middle of the procedure. Also the guide extension can reach further down the vessel giving more support. But you are right, AL will provide bigger support
