Hey Matt, I am sure by now, You are probably done with your newer Trans Am build? but, I am wondering if gasoline would clean off the oxidation from the aluminum engine & trans? I was living out of city limits, house paid off, was building an addition onto the house, had it framed, roofed, & wrapped & yeah, That all came to an end, I was about to build a garage! I envy your 3rd gens & hopefully one day, I can get one that is pretty clean hopefully! I realize that you probably are not interested in pouring gas all over your engine & trans but, If I remember correctly, Gas cleans aluminum pretty easily... maybe a bit of elbow grease with the gas. My brother lucked into a 1973 sbc 400 with the 4.125 bore & it was bored .030 over, running a stroker kit-crank & custom rods, Amber lightweight pistons bringing it to 11/1 compression! I cannot remember the cam but, aftermarket 2.02 intake 160 exhaust heads, new valve body & shift kit on a Th400 sitting in a 79 Z-28. 373 GEARS=1/8 CHAMP!!! I've always wanted a 3rd gen!!! I want to build up another 73-400 (4.125 bore) but, now blueprint sells 4.125 bore 350 & 400 but, still need the custom stoker crank, custom rods, lightweight pistons, cam & etc... Hopefully one day!!! Gota start with getting the car though! Best of luck to ya!!!

Ok ok. Something that’s been on my mind and since I seen you did this......I’m like ok can you slap a 6spd transmission in the 2004 Tahoe?!?! Huh huh!?? Just curious. And if so what all would you have to do to make it work?

Not as far as I know. The 6l80e has a tcm that needs to talk to the ecu, so I doubt it will work without serious modifications.

@@lsXmatt ahh ok. See I wasn’t sure if it was possible or not. Thought it would be nice to have a little more gears you know. Was going to sell this for the newer Tahoe but I like my z71.
