  • Today, we learn that Ukraine is preparing for a major invasion of Kharkiv by Russian forces in the coming weeks. Reports say Russia may deploy over 40k soldiers to attempt to siege the city. Ukraine has now begun the process of fortifying defenses around Kharkiv and deploying more equipment. We also learn that Ukraine has begun asking Poland to defend Ukrainian airspace with Polish Air Defense. Major preparations are being made by Ukrainian forces to prepare for the expected Russian summer mobilization and western forces are rapidly speeding up shipments of military aid to Ukraine through Europe. War crimes are what ruzzians do. This atrocious act in Odesa is not the first, not by a long shot. Ukraine's government is right when they say that the weapon shipments need to be sped up. This is especially true for air defense systems and ordnance. With Kharkiv now under threat, this is absolutely vital!
Thank you for your report, Enforcer Matt. See you Tuesday on the livestream.

Free wheels can only roll so fast (free as in democratically and financially). I don’t disagree, but the green machine is rarely commended for its speed.
Ukraine needs to artfully mine the every living piss out of the route and back out until they can mount a sizable defense/offense. In the meantime, what Ukraine and those who support them should be fighting for (in terms of aid) should be war winning technology. F-16s and air defense systems are definitively not that. They help, but they won’t be the weapons to turn the tide and end this mess.
Lastly, the west needs to get off the squeamish side and decide if it’s with Ukrainians or not. We’re full tilt financially, but our “leaders” are still trying to pretend like they can distance themselves from this conflict by giving instructions to Ukraine, saying to not use x outside of Ukrainian territory. It’s utter bologna. Either we’re in it to win or not at all, and that includes Ukraine taking (and keeping) the fight at the enemy’s doorstep. Could you imagine the response if Roosevelt told Britain that they would help and send aid, but it’s not to be used against Germans in Germany? It’s lunacy.
The world is bending to Putin’s threats. It’s pathetic.

Poland can act on it's own freewill outside of NATO. It's a defensive alliance, all members must agree to invoke any clause. While smartly confiding with allies on the issue, it could also deploy units inside Ukraine which would not invoke article V. That would be Poland's decision, not NATO's. Of course, Smeagol in Moscow would rant and rave and call it a NATO involvement but who cares what Russia thinks on defending Ukraine now.

Truth be told, our armies are not much better tho ..... we just think so - our only saving grace being perhaps "superior" equipment. The West, especially Europe, have been disunvesting in their military and molitary capabilities for decades now, counting on the usa to be there when the shit hits the fan.Anyone thinking the NATO armies are "Ready" are sorely mistaken. NATO has become a complete joke - a dog with a big bark but no teeth for the bite !!

    • @johnbabylon7626
      @johnbabylon7626 Před měsícem

The reason why we "care what the Russians think" is that for all the humiliation the Russians have suffered in this war, sparking a wider conflict will not likely end well for the West.
America is not going to join that war; half our country doesn't know the difference between male and female and the other half hates and despises their own government at least as much as they do the Russians.
Without US help, Europe is doomed. They couldn't topple Libya without US intervention.
And wider conflict will only encourage Chinese/North Korean aggression--which the US can do nothing to counter--and Iranian aggression--which is about as constant as a flowing river.
I don't support the war in Ukraine at all but literally the only real basis of it and only justification for the resources we've sunk into it is the barely imaginable possibility of crippling the Russian military WITHOUT confronting them on the battlefield.

Small correction: don't understimate russian forces. I'm from Lithuania and i have talked with 5 different people i know, far friends/relatives, who came back from the front, and from their experience, the ONLY things russia is packing in, is their meat wave tactics amd utilisation of combat vehicles, tanks, ect. They said you see enemy troops or a vehicle, you take it out, and you instantly hide and not move, as in minutes time artillery will start bombarding you, for 1, 2 days at the time, drones circle over head, you gotta stay hungry, relieve yourself in the place youre lying in just don't move. Most of people i talked with had 2 weapons, one set for day operations, one to use with night vision but nobody used these weapons more than once, apart from an nlaw rocket. It's about shooting artilery, you reveal your location so enemy starts firing, they reveal their location so your friendly forces from other place start firing at their location then different enemy forces counter fire. More than 70% of deaths (2 of them stated) were from artillery shrapnel. One of them got bombarded by 155 while in trench, and while he used to be a kickboxer here befote the war, heavyweight dude, he was thrown up in the air while lying down, from the blasts, ears ringing, air sucked out of the lungs, even both boots came off, and it feels like it lasts for eternity. We must not under estimate, they have drones like we (west) do, they have way more artillery, currently, they have great electronic jamming and drone takeover capabilities, cloaks masking their thermal signature (for infantry), gear which allows to spot (and blind) snipers, spot javelin/nlaw users. You can't use any electrocins other than your collimator sight or NVD as they will locate you in minutes, and artillery, thermal vision drones with explosives are the biggest fears of the soldiers there. Cheers

That’s a lot of hype. There are some tanks with that tech, sure, but not all or even close to most. Guess what, we have all of that too, and ours is better and on nearly all of our systems. EU and the EU countries have actually provided more help to Ukraine than USA has. It just isn't as noticeable because it's split between 27 countries plus EU itself so you have to add the numbers up to see the total.

Personally, I think EU should do more, faster. We have already given more aid than the US, a lot of it in direct financial aid. The problem is, we don’t have too much equipment and ammo in storage. Largely because of the last 30 years politics. Our politicians didn’t think a major conventional war would break out in Europe and the deal was to let USA be the worlds police and reap the economical benefits that come with that job.

Before this recent $100M in additional aid Australia has provided to Ukraine, Australia been contributed approx $960 million, with $780 million specifically allocated for Ukraine’s Armed Forces. This is a lot more than a lot of larger European countries, but Australia can always afford to do more. Australia is also actively participating, just in with things like training but also thru intelligence operations support.

Here is what you need to understand. As long as nothing happens on NATO soil, they do not care. Simple as that. They will talk tough but show little in the way of actual action. Because the leaders are still living in the 70's.
They would much rather sell equipment so that their defense contractors make more profit and stock prices rise than actually put physical troops on the ground.
That is how their enemies view them. NATO is living in the distant past. They are waking up but slowly.

A coalition of Poland France etc etc could protect the skies of western Ukraine pretty effortlessly with a combination of AirPower and ADA.
The focus could be to protect arms supplies coming in from NATO countries and factories that are producing drones and munitions.
Could also send western engineers and contractors to help build/repair Ukraine armor and other equipment.
Russia wouldn’t be able to do much considering the Ukraine air defense already stationed across the country. Russia wouldn’t be able to intercept western fighters in that particular area and those same fighters can shoot down any drone attacks.
