I’m definitely reading “Never Split The Difference”, and please let “Tactical Empathy” come to the public soon 🎉
I love how real you are in the interviews! Especially showing your silly side! It is comforting!
I've read "Never Split the Difference" followed Black Swan and appreciate Chris Voss. He clearly knows his stuff and his hypnotic voice doesn't hurt either. Great interview.
Yooo, let me pause for a second. What an intro, the score, the music, the caption edits …. 🔥🔥
I'm convinced I need to read his book! I'm easily stunned by an overly assertive tone, and I've become too passive. Starting now, I will use "how" and be aware of my silences. I felt that this episode was a bit too long during Chris' backstory -- not getting to the good tips until the last 20 minutes or so. On the whole, the interview did highlight his competence and character. I can tell he likes to share his stories! I'm eager to read what he's shared about techniques. Maybe there's hope for this old, meek bird to negotiate everything with better outcomes. Thanks Erika! You're awesome!
this is such a great episode. such powerful insight on humanity and emotion. love that the money bootcamp brought me here! It's all connected. Thank you Erika!
Great podcast. I can see how these techniques can be implemented in a lot of everyday scenarios. Very helpful.
Thank you Erika, this episode was great and so inspired to make time to finish reading his book. I am so excited to see the documentary. Thanks again. The best for you Erika 😊
Nicely done! I have followed Chris for years, but this is the first I've heard of you. I'm so glad to have found you through that connection with BSG
awesome series, looking forward to digesting more of your content!
Erika! Bravo! I loved this interview, you asked such insightful questions always tying back Chris's experiences in ways to relate to 'the normal mans' life haha. I loved how you asked the juicy questions too haha. I can see why you had him as a guest, and I will definitely be looking into his book and documentary! Thank you!
A great interview. I really took away the closing statement. Thank you for the advice!
Great interview! Can’t wait to start implementing much of this in my life- how and what, ask for a no!
Great interaction and plenty of sage advice!
Really enjoyed this interview and even the rabbit trails. All very interesting and I especially liked the How questions and asking for a no answer. Very interested to read his book.
Man this is my favorite book, thank you thank you for having Chris Voss as your guest ☺
Great podcast!
Awesome interview! I’ve seen Chris Voss’ tedtalk, I always thought it was very intriguing. I bought his book after watching this interview, can’t wait to read it!
Great podcast, great host, really enjoyed it, thank you :)
Great podcast love it and thank you 🙏
Such a great interview❤
Loved it!
Great interview. Voss sounds like Al Pacino!
Erika is sooo beautiful 🤩 ... kudos to Chris for maintaining his focus impeccably in the presence of such beauty 😻 ... (guess it's easier to do when both parties are married though 💍🙏🏽)
Thanks for the great interview!! 🙏🏽💚
I found that it provided me with a different perspective, even though I've been through Chris Voss's masterclass.
chris was cool, you were cool too, thank you both
Masterful
52:27 mark. Jim Camp formula. time is 1x, energy is 2x, money 3x, and emotion 4x. Emotions have an extremely high value in any negotiation.
Erika, first time watching your pod cast. Outstanding. God bless you and your ohana always.
You never know what Erika has up her sleeve, and today she is sleeveless. It is always worthwhile.
Would be curious to know how Chris defines "remarkably coachable" at 4:38
Open to learning.
❤❤❤❤❤
Another great podcast. Still trying to catch up on your other podcast. I've learned something from each one I've watched.
Not meaning to change the subject but, I hope your sleeping better. If not, maybe you should take a couple of weeks off just for your health and peace of mind. Take care.
Quite an interview. His experience and the critical thinking part of his craft have enlightened me. The different phases of negotiation are all new so I found the subject matter really interesting. A master at his work comes to mind. Really insightful with a few tips on the power of the black swan method make this interview a must see. "Never Split the Difference", sounds like a great read.
What does he mean when he says, "to be differential?" Does it mean to empathize with the other side and put yourself in their shoes and see their perspective?
Deferential* ... aka respectful
Wow. Never expected such a inciteful comment on women keeping their feminine features and celebrating their powers. Several times I have been sent home to cook rice and raise kids. But I was Army and there was a female uniform and a male uniform even though women were expected to perform according to standards. Nothing disarms an enemy more as a woman who is solid at the core. Aloha and God Bless you and your Ohana always.
Feminity has it's own kind of power! It's like finesse not brute force. That's why women tend to naturally have better social skills than us men
The thing that's disturbing is that the same tactics that are effective against bad guys can be used to devastating effect against the good guys.
He calls those people, sociopaths
rule number #1: when you have a chance for mock negotiation with chris - you let him be the negotiator
I should've known hahaa
