Wow 2200 is when I refill to 4000. I’ve been testing different weight pellets. Tuning for all. Spend some more time tuning. Go to were you get max velocity with least amount of air used. Great vid!!
If i have my GK1 set to 30-35 fpe .. 5k fill starts faster (higher FPS) then dips, before raising again until min 1.5k finish psi. So even starting with a 2k-2.5k fill the gun will still shoot up to the higher FPS before dropping off (below 1.5k) The valving is unique in this gun.
I have a gk1 in 25 cal, got it dialed in with jsb 25.39s at 50 yards it’s about a 1 inch group. 100 yards holding about 4 mil high I can consistently hit a 6 inch steel target shot after shot, and with a bit of fuss hit a 1 inch swinger. Setting up a brass .223 case at 25 or a spent 12 gauge at 50 isn’t even a challenge. I have an athlon 6-24 ffp on it with a stock adapter. Such a bad ass airgun………
That Volquartsen trigger kit is the best I've ever used in a rimfire. I installed one in my Talo Hunter and the sear was letting go when toggling the safety - presumably it was an older iteration of the kit as I'd purchased it from Brownell's. I contacted Volquartsen and they sent me a new sear, no questions asked. It now runs flawlessly. Great company and I'm now a customer for life.
Broke down and got the Volquartson. Shoot league and won my division straight away. Almost won the local winter balloon shoot at the gun club against scoped rifles. Took 3 shots to hit the ballon at 170 yards.
Great vid! 33.95 gr is a good middle weight for GK1. 46-50gr is heavy and the gun can push those at 900fps for first shot at max power. I love seeing a pcp pistol finally playing with the .22’s 👍
On the very budget side of all this, im getting 1" groups with my 597 at 50 yards around 350 invested in total. My Legacy 1,000 is grouping 1" at 40 yards 150 invested. Its crazy how good air guns have gotten recently!
Actually there is a few spots to grab a gk1 huben. The best spot is Kraz cool airguns. Kelly is the no#1 huben repair man in the country. Airgun tactical, New England , Go Gun...etc.... you can get a gk1. I have one in .22 to go with my .25 K1. It shoots 42 gr. slugs at 970 fps . I can get higher but no need and i like to conserve air. recently got a clearence 3.5 volquartsen threaded upper for my 22/45 and yes its definitely odd that the upper is the gun its a pita, and the clearence uppper is actually cheaper than getting one threaded lol but its not in stock often u have to check often
I bought the same barrel and also the standard one, minus the sights. I sold the second barrel for what I paid for them both!!!! I have the VQ trigger in my mk4 and I recently bought the VQ modified bolt which is really nice, also a blem but the coating and VQ hardware are awesome for 100 buckaroonis!!
I’ve been looking for a comparison what’s the cube a GK 1 so that was cool but suggestion you should test the AEA 52 or 57 caliber slug, Zeus air rifle. I think it’s about the same as a shotgun with slugs twice twice as big as shotgun shells that would be cool if you looked at that.
I'm very wary on the safety of those safeties on PCP guns. I have the LCS SK-19 and it has TWO safeties, both are not safe. I had the gun shoot with both in. That's because none of both actually prevent the mechanism to go off, they just prevent the trigger to be pulled. You can break the force of the first one, and the second one got loose on an impact. On top every screw inside the gun is loose, so it deconstructs itself with each shot. This can cause the SK-19 to go on full-auto and empty the magazine without being touched. I've not had that happen at least.. I ordered the Huben GK1, I hope their safety is designed to actually mechanically block the mechanism, not like the LCS thing. One thing I noticed is a high level of customer care, good manuals, good first instructions even before I receive the gun. Different to LCS, they don't even respond to emails if the topic is about support or missing parts. In case you know already, would be nice to learn how the GK1 safety works.
I got my GK1 at New England airguns, the place that I got my original k1 rifle from Krazy Kool also sells the pistol. And if I searched I'm sure there's probably at least one or two more places in America who sell this pistol.
Can hear the velocity drop each shot on the air gun. People underestimate modern PCP air guns. Not exactly the ole Red Ryder, but almost need to be a rocket scientist to figure out how to dial in and charge a PCP air gun. But once dialed in something like the FX Impact Mk3 is stupid accurate.
@@joshuagibson2520 With 17 shots per fill I wouldn't consider that a issue as far as reloading there is modifications that can be done to reload 3 or 4 rounds at once, just takes swopping out the loading gate to the aftermarket one. Now the air consumption is an issue I'll give you that! Bringing the energy down to around 60fpe should make it to where you can get 1-1/2 cylinders full of shot's.
