Our Second Cousin grapples with the relationship between rejection and reconciliation, all the while trying to secure a free pizza and sell a broken mug.
"Rejection could be the pathway to peace." This is the first time I heard someone verbally express the internal sensation I feel. All we want in life is to be desired, to be wanted, to be loved. Maybe it's because, from a primitive perspective, it ensures our survival? Whatever for, all of us have a strong reaction to rejection. Fear. Doubt. Anger. Resentment. Self-hatred. Self-pity. Sadness. Misery. Numbness. The list goes on. My entire life, I was terrified of being rejected. Only after I experienced it, I lost my fear and gained my serenity and a calmness that I had never felt before. It made me understand that I belong to myself, my emotions, my thoughts, I have an entire universe inside of me that only belongs to me! And no one can take this away from me. We yearn to belong and usually, we identify with what we belong to. A culture. An ethnicity. A country. A political orientation. A sexual orientation. Friends. Family. We fear being nothing, we fear being no one if we don't get acknowledged by some external source, but we fail to understand that no one can erase us by denying us love. I have terrible rejection sensitivity, and I too found a sort of feeling of freeness whenever the bad I would dread would come to pass because it doesn't hold weight on me anymore. Jamie rlly did it with this one! Seems like a wonderful person. :D
I won’t pretend that I know a whole lot about film. But the way you film, edit, and the general aesthetic is SO refreshing. Unlike anything we’ve become so accustomed to seeing in media. Not to even mention the depth and perspective these messages have. Truly amazing, cannot wait to see what else you create.
my favorite parts: • at the beginning of the video i thought “his mustache looks quiet nice” right after it you took out the shaver • “free mug” • white sauce pizza was a first for me i’m interested in trying it • “i am me. i’m not a quantifiable worth so much so that i don’t even need to feel worthy. to be and then additionally to be here is surely more than enough.” • nose picking with glue on your hands was very personal
these videos are the type of things i wanna watch on a night to wind down. jamies voice is so nice to listen to and the overall vibe is so calm and relaxing

As an actor myself, I find rejection as a stepping off point. And dealing with rejection is a struggle that most human beings wish they could overcome. I just did an audition that I'm not sure I'll get a role out of. But making opportunities out of a rejection is how you grow as a person. I love the different ways you made the concept of rejection and twist into something else. The fake blood threw me off a little
I love these videos. What Jamie is doing here isn’t new, but it’s done in such a way, in such a chaotic atmosphere with everything that’s considered as mainstream today that it’s so refreshing. It’s also nice to use my brain once in a while which this videos definitely make me do. It feels like he actually has respect for the platform that he’s using👏👏

I loved the story aspect as well as the surreal sorta feel to the everyday shots (that’s probably a slightly dramatic description) but as someone on the spectrum I really resonated with the feeling of rejection and despite it not being 100% what the message of the video was I really felt some of the quotes deeply. I love these sort of videos, I love how artistic it is. 15/10. I hope you had fun and enjoyed making it!
