Lydia, be careful with just dropping your ring off at Tiffany's for a clean! Don't take your eyes off that precious stone. There have been instances in the past where people have had their stone switched out in the few minutes their ring was taken back to be cleaned. Just a warning! Wherever you go to get your ring cleaned, make sure you have your eye on the stone at all times. Even if that means asking to go back with them and watching them clean it 😘😘
I’m sorry, but working in a jewellers in the past. It’s not that easy to take a diamond out and switch it for a fake 😂 diamonds are set in perfectly and securing to sustain day to day wear, if it was as easy as popping it out it wouldn’t last a washing of the hands never mind anything else. Also most Jewellers (even low end ones) have diamond testers. When they take a ring in, they diamond test in front of the customer, when the ring is returned the same is done. The stories you’re talking about are probably one in a million with either a one off extremely dodgy sales associate or someone taking a fake ring in and trying to claim a real one back, which is more common than people think 😂
