Yes the "First Look" is the thing over here in the USA .. for the reason of being able to get photos etc out of the way and like Ali said it does take the pressure off.
Please keep it real because you are both honest vloggers and there is a lot of fakery on social media these days. The less filter the better. I think you get the balance so right and it's very refreshing. Im only a few minutes in and you are both already talking about the politics of weddings which i bet most vloggers would shy away from admitting. BTW, what a nice guy Ali is!

Love your approach to your wedding! I totally would be the same with the wedding vows - why memorize them and put that pressure on yourself when you're already so nervous anyways?! I feel like I'd be too nervous that I'd forget what I was supposed to say and I'd be thinking to much about it to actually just say it like a normal person. I'd be too in my head, haha. Also, love your sly tip about strategic culling, haha, I will keep that in mind for future!

A honeymoon doesn't have to be close to the wedding. If you have a lot going on there is certainly no reason why it can't be later on. :) Congratulations you two!
Your wedding was just stunning! My oldest son and his wife met before the wedding. We cleared the church and she walked to him with his back facing her like Ali did. It was such a special moment. Then the photographer took pictures of the wedding party and families. I loved this because it meant that the "Mr. and Mrs" could go strait to the reception!

I am currently planning my own wedding and the politics is the worst part! We are planning a destination wedding so we had to really cut back on our guest list! Its taken us a while to realize that its OUR day and we need to really just focus on whats going to make US happy! i love the written vows ..i think its a great way to help with nervousness and Ali is correct you only get one go at it...its also a great memory that can be framed!!! it's from the heart and just amazing!!! i would absolutely write my vows on really nice paper and frame them after the wedding!!

Thoroughly enjoyed hearing more about your wedding! I could listen to more of this for hours on end. Maybe you'll be able to travel with work some place fabulous and just extend your return flight to include a honeymoon after all the work is done... and Ali can get his "first-quarter honeymoon". Personally, I don't think it really matters if or when you have a formal honeymoon trip. You can really have a honeymoon anytime and anywhere you choose! I think it's more a state of mind rather than a trip somewhere. I wish you all the happiness in the world and now I'm going to go watch your wedding videos again!

Reveals or first looks are increasingly popular here in the states. There's also the logistical advantage of being able to get a lot of the photos done earlier so that you're not wasting your whole cocktail hour on photos.

We haven't booked a videographer for our wedding, just a photographer who will do a really short little film in the middle of photos. BUT this has made me change that decision and I'm definitely going to book one.

I totally relate with you on wedding dresses. For any bride to be I highly recommend trying all styles even something you think you hate. Sometimes certain fabrics and shapes sit better on you than you would have other wised thought. I am a curvier girl and I was nervous on trying super fitted dresses but those ended up being the most flattering on me.

Never heard of ‘the reveal’ but that is a great idea. You get to have the special moment with just you two instead of in front of everyone where you can’t really speak and have to get on with the ceremony.

This is very helpful information, because let’s face it Couples these days pay for their own weddings, and a majority of people watching are most likely in the same boat. And it’s true about guests who will make the effort to be there for your special day. £100 per person is not cheap. So now the reveal makes so much sense! I was wondering why Ali looked as excitedly nervous when you approached him as when you walked down the isle! I enjoyed every bit of your wedding. EVERY BIT!
