    This the first time I ever hear someone say they try to read a book in one go or within two days but same! For me i find that the more days I take to finish a book, the more it hinders my enjoyment (and thus, the rating) of the book so I also try to read it in two days if I can as well!
    Though sometimes I take forever with a book and I end up liking it so much more because I spent more time with it (hence giving me more time to warm up to it than I would've if I had finished it in two days) and it makes me wonder if the books I disliked, maybe I should've just taken my time lmao 🤔

    Can I just say that I muffin' love you, I am always super excited for your monthly wrap-ups. I am about to graduate college and I have finals but once I noticed that you had dropped a new video...well let's just say my books are not happy with how far I threw them in order to concentrate on what you were gonna say. you are one of the reasons why I became addicted to reading again. and now instead of reading 10 books a year I read 10 books a week.
    I was really happy that you loved vow of thieves as it was my favorite read last year, there is just something magically fluffy and warm when the person you love to hear about their opinions agrees to love the same thing that you love.
    I wish I could recommend you a good book but this month my reads were in the 1-2 stars range and I absolutely hate when books don't turn out to be good when there is so much hype about them. but maybe check out "I've got your number " by Sophie Kinsella -I think- it was a fun read and the romance was so cute and don't worry there was no smut 😂 the ending was so cheesy but wholesome all-in-all it didn't suck as much as the rest of my May reads.
    I am already hyped up for next month's wrap-up in hope that by that time I would be school-free with tons of books to read.
    PS: maybe you can make a video with books that are translated and have different cultural backgrounds or maybe horror books. another video idea is that you rate books that have the funniest/worst reviews on GoodReads.

  • @ellieskouros2174
    @ellieskouros2174 Před 2 lety +1

    omg i have a quick video suggestion: if you could do like this crazy six of crows book tag that would be so amazing...you're the only booktuber i know that talks about six of crows consistently and seems to love it as much as i do! you could do like a livestream with subscribers or talk with other booktubers about it, maybe talk about all the crows individually and the glorious ships leigh bardugo provides us with, or just fangirl about season 2 of shadow and bone (but mostly just ben barnes, because he's the epitomy of all our darkling fantasies)
    if you want some other creative ideas you can try getting inspiration from booksandlala on youtube since she always seems to have unique content!

      @Tavus Dalgatova Hmmm, I would highly recommend that you start with the trilogy, The Remnant Chronicles first... since it's a deep-dive into the world/characters that are in the duology. I know that many people say that it's not really necessary to read the trilogy before Dance of Theives, but personally, I just feel like you'll have a way better experience going into the duology already knowing what the hell is going on... as opposed to starting Dance of Theives with no prior knowledge. 😂 Plus, I think that you'll actually enjoy the duology much more if you've already read the previous 3 books, since so many major characters from the trilogy are in Dance of Theives/Vow of Theives. Hope this helps! 💕

    For the Winternight trilogy (bear and the nightingale), it is slower but it does touch on many themes. If you read the author notes in the back of the book, the author sets this is pre-unified Russia (i.e. the land of Russia were like city-states). So unifying Russia as a "people", dealing with the rise of Orthodox Catholicism, and a girl (woman) who doesn't want to be shoved into the roles medieval Russian society wants her to be, oh and outsiders trying to wipe all them out. Finally we add on the layer of Russian folklore. It's.... alot but worth the read.

    i thought renegades should have been AT LEAST 500 pages shorter. it took so long for them all to understand that nova wasn’t who she said she was. like UNREALISTICALLY long. by the time adrian figured the whole thing out, nova had already gone through the entire one sided enemies to lover arc. and then adrian went through the arc in like the second to last 1/4 of the book. anyway, i was just frustrated when nova herself would be like “wow what im doing rn is extremely suspicious, i hope they dont figure me out!” and then they would be like “wow all these suspicious things are happening with nova around, what a coincidence!” this series was too long

    ..Just gonna say.. Indian guys do be like that, not the suave part that's usually fake as hell but the not speaking to women part. It's "this is the woman who I talked to for more than 5 minutes therefore we shall get married and then I'll get to lose my virginity" over here. The dr. Dil (heart in Hindi) gave me war flashbacks to a medical romcom...
    Not gonna comment on the AsAm experience it's been very weird few days with AsAms (mainly Kpop fans and "ex" Kpop fans) externalizing a lot of bitter feelings onto everyone else who don't feel exactly as they do..
    Re: Winternight trilogy, I don't consider it a romance at all it really is a Sub subplot you won't get much in the last book either, please don't expect an actual nice romance 😭 I think most of us called it fast paced but the right phrase should have been better paced.. or something else like generally desired pace..... Many people seem to either love the first book and not like the other two or hate the first one and love the other two especially the second one. You have a different reaction to the books than what I usually see? Not a good or bad thing just... an observation. It _is_ a historical fantasy, the bandits are Mongols... you know like.. the notorious Golden Horde... conquered a good portion of the world... the last book will have a real life battle retold in it.
    As for me, I just finished a classic mystery now my options are another classic mystery/ a cozy mystery/ an adult fantasy series' first book and I can't choose.

    I adored Darling Girl, but I have, over time, developed a strong dislike of Peter Pan the character. Like, yeah, he is a kid, but his original fairy tale is really dark and also, he's a child who straight up cut a guys hand off and threw it to a crocodile and then mocks him. So, making the jump in Darling Girl from him being the hero to being the villain was not that difficult. (It works on the same level for me that if you read the original Tales of Uncle Remus, you realize Brer Rabbit is just d-bag.)

I loved The Charm Offensive because it's good, it has the dra, it has the gayness, something I'm trying to find. Please recommend me books like the charm offensive. Please. If it's queer even better, because straight romances just don't do it for me now(*cough cough* every one recommends me Colleen Hoover or Ali Hazelwood or twisted/shatter me series and I'm not interested in that.
