Tendría que tener subtítulos en otros idiomas, porque los que no sabemos inglés no entendimos nada de lo que pasó, porque además no tomo con la cámara hacía el lugar que miraba el guardia. Those Emergency buttons need sorting out, two Life Guards kept pressing them yesterday, it took 5 minutes for someone to come to them both to find out what was wrong, one Guard even asked a tourist to get someone. There should be a Police Officer standing by the gates at all times.

    These lovely Guards, both Male, Female, and their Horses, need protection all the time they're on duty As I said earlier, there should be a Police Officer standing by the gates. With what's going on in other parts of the country with the stabbings that have happened. That's why I mentioned Police presence and protection, not just by the Tunnel and the Arches, but by the gates for the Box Men and, Emergency buttons that WORK!

      You do realise that these “lovely guards male and female” are immaculately trained soldiers who have seen action abroad and can handle themselves pretty well when push comes to shove. They aren’t there just for a palace embellishment or to be the characters at “St James World” and those horses will charge forward and do their bit as well though these days they aren’t generally ridden into war they are trained for crowd problems. These soldiers are honoured to do this stint of duty to protect their sovereign and will do so at the drop of a hat. Thank them for their unselfish service whenever you get the opportunity!

      @lilacscentedfushias1852 being a horseperson of 40 plus years I can see that a few of these horses love the pets and pats, most tolerate people being close but don't particularly want petting, and a few are very clear that they don't even tolerate having their space invaded. While folks don't always read horse's body language correctly, these horses do a really good job of letting people know what they do and don't accept. A few folks are always going to be clueless, but those are the folks that are probably clueless about everything, including signs. If you proposed this job to my horse she would sign up in a heartbeat, she is the kind that falls asleep if I stop and talk to someone, and generally enjoys being fussed over.

      It's a public footpath in Whitehall controlled by Westminster council not MOD . Any form of role , barrier etc would be potentially dangerous for horse and Trooper .

      @anndenovan9026 rope won't hurt as bad as that metal fence that was up on the public walkway.
      Horses are used to barriers, and it shouldn't bother the horses at all.
      It is the crazy people that is bothering the horses.
      And when did the BOX become a public walkway. 🤔 😆 🤣

    • @LondonCityWalks
      @LondonCityWalks  Před 8 měsíci +6

      To clarify: the Ministry of Defence Police are NOT there to 'protect' the soldiers. They are there to protect tbe public -within- the confines of a military establishment (Horse Guards).
      The 'panic / emergency' Button is connected to the Guard Room and that is the responsibility of the army. 👍🏻

    Surely it wouldn't be too to have the button press relay directly to the police officers' radios. It wouldn't even be necessary for the guards to speak - just transmit a sound. Watched a few of these and l genuinely hope there's not a life threatening emergency because they're unbelievably slow to respond. If it IS a dodgy button it needs to be sorted ASAP.
