The crystal on all G Shocks is mineral glass not plastic. A plastic crystal would have to be super thick to withstand 200 meters of water resistance. The crystals are also mineral glass for greater impact resistance.

I know it's a stab in the dark but would you be willing to give this watch away for my dad? I have been looking for a Casio GA-2100 for ages now. I want to get it as a Birthday gift for my dad who is a huge Casio fan and loves Casio watches. I want to be able to give him this watch on his birthday (which is April) as a way of saying thankyou to him for helping me in life and especially in school over the last year, as I was in my final year of high school and I completed it from home. My dad helped me so much and I just want to be able to give back to him. He loves his watches but doesn't own any since his old watch broke about 10 years ago. Unfortunately I cannot afford to buy him or even myself a watch as I am 18 years old and obviously don't have the money to do so.
