Your video is so informative for people that themselves suffer from substance abuse issues and helps there family members understand better.. After researching suboxone with benzodiazepines being taken together I’ve seen just about everywhere that if those were mixed basically you could die but in the same breath people can take pain pills with benzodiazepines prescribed by Drs with out the severe warning they give for suboxone and benzodiazepines.. I’ve been researching for a family member that has substance issues that can make it hard to believe what they tell us from there past. I’m glad to see n hear they were not lying about being prescribed benzodiazepines with there suboxone treatment.

I almost died. I am not joking. This Medical Doctor saved my life. I am Asian and my MD's ALL prescribed me Ativan for 14 years and I tried to detox at a detox Hospital and they almost killed me!!! My wife is a BSN RN and my family are all in Medicine as mostly MD's! The SYSTEM is set up to make us addicts. They will pay for the Benzo's; but they will not pay to get you off of them!!! THE WORSE PART: They are not trained to get us off of them! I was Prescribed my addiction. I am half way there. I will be an advocate for this Medical Doctor who used to be Chief Medical ER Doctor in Bakersfield, CA. at Kern Medical Center. The most corrupt City in California is Bakersfield. Stay away from here! There are no Detox Centers here and they are fake and steal from Medical/Medicare and throw you out in to the street in 3 days like they did me. Peace Favor Your Sword! The path that leads to truth is littered with the bodies of the ignorant. To win any battle, you must fight as if you are already dead. “The purpose of today’s training is to defeat yesterday’s understanding.” Chan Buddhist Monk Chin Gen Ping teacher to Miyamoto Musashi.

I agree with this ^^^ commenters statement about anxiety. But is it the same as fear of withdrawal? Like the feeling addicts get when thinking about detox and how much it's going to hurt? For some people just the thought of knowing you will have to go through a little bit of withdrawal can be terrorizing and bring about your pain symptoms early. I hate waking up in the morning knowing I have to deal with this painful life consuming fentanyl addiction. Also wanted to know if fentanyl and heroin are treated similarly (dose-wise)with suboxone?

Wow you straight up took on case management type role with the homeless guy. That's so much like the situation I was in, living out of a car, dealing with addiction and anxiety and homelessness. I had a homeless service case worker helping me do the things that you did for this guy. You played an important role for him, thank you so much. Homelessness while trying to get cleaned up is its own monster. It is so hard to keep other addicts at arm's length and find healthy people to become accountable to when you are in shelter lines and food lines and doctor lines all the time with people in the same resource-less boat :(

Thank you for taking time to leave this awesome comment. Social workers are often the most overwhelmed and overworked professionals in the field of mental health and human services. Their case loads are at times impossible to manage, so the fact that your case worker was able to give you the help you needed it is definitely a refreshing story to hear. Appreciate you sharing a little piece of your journey with us, looking forward to having you back each week for our future talks in various areas of addiction and mental health.

I was put on Ativan by a psychiatrist in my 20s he never told me to only take it for two to four weeks. It was prescribed for anxiety I did not get a high taking it. It simply made me function then I built up a tolerance I’m now 40 tapering off Ativan the Ashton manual way . You don’t get addicted your body gets dependent.

Maybe you could try it out and see what happens, I could bet my bank account that it will help your mind to relax and also be by yourself in a room where you can be alone and have no distractions. Listening to this video has opened my eyes a little more, that we need to speak up for ourselves. I have been prescribed suboxone for about 12 years from a doctor that helped for opiate addiction. It kept me straight since taking it, I continued to work, but I think I've always had anxiety, because within a short time, the stress from work was getting to me. I couldnt sleep because my mind would not shot down at night, so I went to my primary care doctor, and was started on .5 miligrams of zanax, twice a day, as needed, which eventually lead up to .5 milgrams 4 times a day throughout the years. I have been on 2 miligrams a day for at least 7 years, but started the zanax maybe a total of 10 years ago altogether. My memory isnt that sharp anymore. My primary care doctor was changed a few times, one left the building, and one retired, so the doctor that has been prescribing it for the longest is still my present doctor. He vocally told me he didnt like prescribing it, and eventually would want to wean me when I first met him. He did up it from 3 times a day to four times a day one time, but he still precribed them for many years. I had been on the 4 times a day for a very long time, but noticed I wasnt able to sleep anymore, and asked him to please increase the zanax, by just another .5 miligram. I was having a hard time at work due to lack of sleep, and the stress, and the amount of work kept increasing, but he refused, so my anxiety and stress became so much worse. My body had adjusted to that same dose for so long, and he could tell how stressed out I was, but because he knew I was on suboxone, one day he just decided to start reducing my zanax, and put me on an anti depressant, which made me feel like a zombie. It was getting very hard to work, I was having a hard time focusing, concentrating, thought I was getting dimentia, and stopped taking the anti-depressant, and told him it wasnt helping, he then put me on zanax xr which is extended release, and continued tapering, and within a few months of him doing this, I suffered a stroke! My blood pressure was through the roof, and when I called the office advising them of it, they would tell me that I would have to make an appointment, which was always weeks away. My heart would start pounding, and I couldn't even think straight. They, he and a specialist who was advising the taper to him, both knew how I was feeling. I did advise them that I couldn't sleep, I was missing work, and I started getting chest pain, so he referred me to a cardiologist, which did a catherization, found out I have 2 blockages in my coronary arterie, but that they were both

This information definitely helps my family to understand one of our family members that has had substance abuse issues and anxiety. When we discovered they were taking Ativan, Xanax or a benzo with the prescription of suboxone which I believe is something like 2 strips a day that our family believed was heading back to bad habits due to seeing everywhere that those meds interact badly. So glad to see they weren’t lying to us and the Dr is prescribing benzodiazepines with the suboxone. The family member takes .5mg Ativan 3 times a day as needed and 2 strips suboxone and is doing so much better. Our family had great fear they would have respiratory arrest if they took any dose of benzodiazepines w suboxone. Thank u

I had a very "lazy" Doctor, I had chronic pancreatitis, caused by genetics and alcohol abuse. I couldn't sleep, anxiety (caused by coming home to buy my mother a home and help because my Dad passed, left her half a million dollars but she was very bad with money, and very much narcissistic). I was clean for at least drinking in moderation only during football season for 20 years but (being here I started drinking daily, not just 1 drink but easily a six pack just to deal with her) because I lived across the country and my husband allowed me to be me. Prior to that while I lived in the same place where my mother lived I was very depressed and I had horrible anxiety, my pancreatitis pain didn't help. My Dad was my safe place. Now back to the Doctor. She prescribed me opioids, Ambien, and Xanax. It wasn't until I saw the surgeon (I had a TP-AIT) that I learned that taking all of those meds were black box meds. The Doctor was also my Mother's Doctor. She would tell my My Mother everything about my health, even though I asked her specifically not to. She then put me on methamphetamine on top of the other medications. When I decided to have my surgery I weaned myself off of the pain meds and told my surgeon that I didn't want to be on pains anymore. He said as soon as we get the pain from the surgery he would wean me of and I haven't looked back. I got a new doctor and they got me with the specialist I needed and got me set up with a wonderful therapist. Now I am still using the Xanax and Gabapentin for neuropathy because the surgery put me in the category of diabetic (insulin free). My beta cells are working great and I am going back across the country next week. Not really running away but running towards my safe place.

I take Subutex and Klonopin. I took Klonopin for three months straight and just quit taking them, threw them away. I had severe withdrawal for five days. My doc passed away during that time. No one told me you could have withdrawals from Klonopin. I am 64 and thought I was going to die of a heart attack not to mention the nausea. It took me a while to figure out it was withdrawal. I got a new doctor and he is weaning me slowly. I only took them for 3 months straight. I have panic and anxiety attacks. I wish I knew what benzos did before I took them. I hate them. As far as Subutex, I am weaning off without telling the new doctor. I hate all of these meds. They messed me up so bad. I hate medicine.

sorry but most doctors don't invest want to invest their time in helping people. I've never felt compassion from any doctor regarding my anxiety condition and resulting drug prescriptions. They might prescribe but they pull you off and it's like...good luck sucker...I'm through. That IS my experience in many different instances over a long time.

I can't keep still .I keep getting up for no reason as if im going somewhere but I have nothing planned.im super worried about not being able to score a bag Of (H) ..my plug told me he was going to be on and he's not come on the morning.im super worried and scared of going into a deep withdrawals and this is way before ive even started feeling physical withdrawals ..my brain is all over the place.luckily I have methadone scipt to full back on.
Now I'm realising much the methadone program is helping me but like a clown I've gone and got my self a double habit so I'm still feeling physical and mental withdrawals even tho I'm on 50 ml of physeptone (methadone).a day...i just need to manage to ride out a few days with no H AT all and I no methadone will start working proberly how it was when I first changed over from h to methadone.it worked a dream
The problem is I always have money and when I've got money I will always score
If there Eva is time when u run OUT of money which unfortunately is not very often but If it does happen I manage to cope alot better ..i JUST at the moment can't have money around me coz I will 1 million percent be spending it on shxt..i fuking hate this life to anyone reading this.im just finding it super super hard to break this cycle and im really scared of going into bad withdrawals...yes I do have a regular methadone scipt but as I said I've been using both now everyday for the past umm 2 to 3 years ..so when I don't have.methadone or don't have H I withdraw..how can I break this cycle before it breaks me PERMENTLY! you can get every thing back but your life once that's gone there is no coming back! .
P.S SORRY THIS MSG IS SO MUCH RAMBLING BUT I'M TRYING TO GET MY PROBLEMS ACROSS AND THAT'S ALSO HARD FROM THE BRAIN FOG IN SUFFERING.. I NO ALL I NEED TO DO IS SCORE AND I'LL BE OKAY..WELL FOR THE NEXT 4 TO 8 HOURS THEN GUESS WHAT
GROUNDHOG DAY HAS NEVER HIT SO HARD
