    Best quest for Newbies out of Bastok is "The Cold Light of Day" using Quu fish. They are throwaway fish and you can buy a stack of 12 from AH for 200 Gil or just fish them up for free.
    - Trade 1 Quu behind lighthouse at H-10 in South Gustaberg - This spawns Bubbly Bernie ( Level 10 mob) Most characters can easily dispatch him level 12-14.
    - Loot Steam Clock
    - Turn in to Malene - Bastok Markets (I-5)
    500 Gil Reward and about 10 minutes when running it on foot. With just a stack of Quu fish from Auction house for 200 Gil and a couple hours you will have 6000 Gil starting off. Not to bad for those starting out.

      I didn't know this one was repeatable, bit of running but worth while since you can do it again.

    The best way to do the quest turn ins is not researching the quest but the items. Take stock of what you have been picking up during your excursions and look the individual items up. The wiki will tell you everything you need to know about the items including what quest turn ins are available. Before you go to turn them in go to the auction house and look the item up. Some items like silk thread are exceptionally coveted on the ah so you may actually make more selling on the ah. Some items get put up for less than you can get from turn ins. If you find any like that try to buy them as much as you can then go and turn them in. Turn ins may take a long time and be inconvenient at times but you will get reputation which can help to unlock more important and potentially lucrative quests later down the road. As with all things in 75 era ffxi patience is the key.

    I have all +1 gear and over 100k gil all before even doing my subjob i havent even been in a pt in the dunes yet..
    . My suggestion either mine, fish or farm wind crystals from bees while also farming beehive chips to sell on the AH. Also if in sandy ghelsba outpost has a cave full of the fungar mobs that drop dark crystals and an assortment of mushrooms you can sell for a decent amount as well. Farm bat wings make a mule send the mule your wings raise it's fame and use it to do the quests for drain friar rope judge necklace ECT to sell. It's not difficult to reach this level of fame but it does require atleast rank 2 in sandy to do the drain quest.
    These arent even all of the different ways you could be making gil. Remember to think outside the box and always check prices of singles compared to stacks. Above all else dont get discouraged because almost everyone is poor 😂

  • @melanclock
    @melanclock Před rokem +1

    Mobbing down easy prey in a party is a good way to farm crystals and can be done undergeared and underskilled at low level

  • @ThatBigRedBear
    @ThatBigRedBear Před rokem +1

    The crawler quest isn't any more lucrative than the sandy bat quest. Still 100g per drop, but you need 2 different items with the crawler quest so you could potentially get 5 of one item and 1 of the other (not uncommon in my experience) and have nothing to turn in where if you just had 6 bat wings, you get 3 turn ins. Still obviously great information and a great, detailed video. Thanks!

    I never did fishing up until I started on Horizon XI. I figured I wanted to try a new approach to the game. Normally I just brute force a melee class to 75 and use that to farm gil for my other jobs. Fishing has been surprisingly addictive and fun my first go around. I know people say it's boring but making like 20k/hr fishing on my fresh level 30 character is like doing slots at a casino. I can just sit down and fish anytime I want and work towards the endless gil grind. I also have never had luck in leveling a mage class to 75 first since I had no idea how to farm on mage classes, I never understood how people do it. Now with fishing I can take BLM to 75 first :D. Looking forward to this. Not sure if I'll ever venture deep into crafting but one of the days or maybe next private server I'll take it on.

    I love that despite this clearly being FFXI, CZcams thinks this is FFXIV in the gaming recommendation.
    Also I have to say that it only took me about 4 days playing time to make my first 100,000 gil, but then again I have 20,000 hours on retail so I kind of know what I'm doing. It's still far slower than retail to make money on Horizon. No sparks, no acheron shields, no trusts to go out and farm literally everything, and you have to walk, chocobo or outpost teleport everywhere. Everyone in my current linkshsell says life is far better without any QoL features. I'd like to disagree, but at least I enjoy a challenge.
    EDIT: 16 degrees below Celsius? Good lord my man, where do you live, the arctic? Wait that's only 3 degrees Farenheit, it got that cold here a few times last winter.

      Ff11 is all about the social experience.

      @@MrDro1128bro you're playing on a server that will be dead in less than a year because everyone can race through the content. People play on Horizon 11 because they want the old school experience will you have to earn everything in the game with hard work determination and teamwork. You basically want a dumb down easy mode like Final Fantasy XIV

    • @oopomopoo

      You're thinking retail, this is for a private server. Plus this is a new player Gil making guide where you are trying to get a few thousand for brass gear, not trying to buy best in slot items at 75.
