This team was the most fun to watch out of any other penguins team in history Crosby and sheary buried goals, Matt Murray was great, hornqvist was hornqvist, and HBK was unstopable
Man do I miss Steigey and Lange, we really did have the best announcers and players when I was growing up
I remember Vasilevsky being an absolute MONSTER in that series and thinking about how he was going to be great for many years. REALLY glad we didn't lose coz of a hot goalie like we have a few times. Jaroslav Halak I remember being particularly infuriating.

If Crosby was not on that team they would have not won the cup. Stats do not tell everything. He made so much happen to help them win the cup. Go back and re-watch all the games and look at what Crosby does.
I agree completely, Kessel was a more consistent scorer. But it was Crosby's 200 foot game that won him the Conn Smythe, in my opinion of course. That's not to say Kessel wasn't outstanding, but when you look at the overall body of work, I think Crosby was more valuable.

KaneIGetACup Ya that's what I said but then Pens fans started bitching at me. Crosby had less points and was a -2. Kessel lead the Pens in points and goals and was like a +7 or something.
I wouldn't have minded had either won it though, Kessels whole line was strong so bonino and hagelin I believe lowered his chance of taking it. Murray did great but the other goalies were also out shot. Why I believe they gave it to Crosby was his three game winning goals against tampa bay, his game winning assist to sheary in overtime on the sharks and just shutting down some top line players he did alot more then some gave him credit for and most who said he didn't deserve it just dont like him and want to believe there's some bias
Crosby is the heartbeat of the team, ask any of the players or the coaches and they'll tell you it couldn't have gone to anyone other than Sid.
