    Contacted Fitbit time and time again about the Ionic recall. “Your account doesn’t have an impacted device associated with it.” Yet they emailed me about my Ionic and it shows on my Fitbit dashboard. As they are refusing to do anything about it despite the amount of times I have phoned them and “Chatted” with them I have given up trying to deal with them politely. From now on I will post this endlessly to let people know what a bunch of untrustworthy scumbags Fitbit are.

      Please look on CZcams and Google and read all the reviews and how people have complained about the Fitbit Sense going black. I have been complaining a few months after I received it for a bday gift November 2021, same year it came out. I have numerous emails complaining about my Fitbit Sense just going black. Just last month it went black and stayed black. Fitbit told me it was a battery issue and because I am out of warranty they offered me 30% off a new one as long as I return my the Fitbit Sense that went black. I checked with other members on the base who has a Fitbit Sense and all complained of the same issue. One person said they had purchased a new Fitbit Sense and returned the one that went black and once Fitbit received the one that went black they refunded this person their money. I am not dealing with Fitbit anymore. I even escalated my complaint forward all my emails different dates of my complaining about the Fitbit Sense going black and their response is out of warranty. If this is happening with many Fitbit Sense watches then the company needs to replace. Why would I purchase another one to experience the same issue.

    I had my fitbit Icon for a few years and about a year after using it, I was unable to use it anymore because it was irritating my skin leaving marks. I thought it was me that was the problem and am glad to see they did a recall and it explains the symptoms I was having at the time. I had a charge 2, Icon, charge 4, and now the Sense. I only had it a few weeks and it is not bad for the price off of amazon

      I’m in the United States and they sent me a flattened box via mail that has a printed shipping label on it. All I needed to return was the watch itself, no bands attached or anything else. It was very simple.

    • @wearablewhisperer
      @wearablewhisperer  Před 2 lety +1

      That’s a great question. Was it brand new? If it was new, I think it just had to have been paired to your Fitbit account. Fitbit isn’t asking for a receipt in the US at least. But if someone else used it first, then I’m not sure how Fitbit is handling those cases.

    • @kimchee94112
      @kimchee94112 Před 2 lety

      They don't ask for a receipt, just the email you've been using for the Ionic that they have on record. It could be gift, used or broken, only need your email on their record for verification then you return it in the provided box in the mail.

    I bought one for about AU$495 in 2017. Stopped using it in 2020 or 2021 as it would not longer sync after an update. To try and get it to sync again I unpaired it and tried to repair it but it wouldn't work. Tried to put in for the recall but it said it wasn't paired to my account.
    On Monday I am going to call the Fitbit recall number to try and see if they can process the refund without having to pair the device. If they say no, I will advise them that I plan on wearing the watch as a fashion accessory as the device is technically not recalled then.
    However in Australia, consumer laws advise that if we have an issue with a product the retailer cannot refuse us and push us to the manufacturer, so if Fitbit says no I can always try the retailer.

  • @davefoc

    This has been painful for us. We want to buy a new fitbit with the discount. We fill out forms, we get discount codes, we get case numbers, we never get to the discount store, we call support and support can't confirm that they have received the watch we returned. they give us links and we refill out forms and get back to places we've been. So far no joy. Sadly the only part of this video I was interested in was at the end of the video and there I find out that the person that made the video has not actually proceeded to try to buy a replacement watch. Two suggestions: 1. do what you can to document the return. take a picture of the package going into the mail or in the extreme send the package registered. 2. Be prepared to just give up on purchasing a replacement watch. Fitbit is in disarray over this and you might be entering into time wasting chaos if you try to get a replacement Fitbit watch.

    I had purchased a Fitbit Ionic a few years back & then I got an e-mail notice that they were being recalled due to a safety issue.
    So I contacted Fitbit last October & they sent me a box with instructions on how to send to send it back to get a $299.00 refund. Mind you, I had paid over $300.00 for the unit but I went ahead & sent it back. That was in early November.
    I got an e-mail in mid March telling me that the refund had been processed & I should be getting it within 10 business days. So far, I have received nothing. I was supposed to be getting a prepaid debit card back but nothing yet. Long story short, I got ripped off & I don't know how many other poor saps out there got ripped off too. I did everything I was supposed to do & after numerous phone calls to Fitbit's Ionic recall line now they tell me they can't find me in the system.
    I own five other Fitbits & they are going out in tonight's garbage. I will spend the $800.00 on an Apple IWatch. At least I know I will get decent service out of them.
