- Heyyyyyy yall!
So this video is LONG overdue. I have been getting so many questions from you all on my IG page regarding microlink extensions and I figured I would just film a video to answer all those questions. I recently got my microlinks installed and as usual IM OBSESSED with them.LOL.
Hope this video helps you decide on if this install is right for you. If you do go ahead and get it done - send me pics! I would love to see how it came out :)
For those in the Toronto area who are interested in getting this install done - feel free to reach out to @onyxrosehair on Instagram - tell her I sent you :)

I have these also. It feels so much better than a sew in! No itching, no wefts poking the scalp! But it's expensive! Very versatile and light feeling. Great video beautiful!! Thanks!!
Girl i knooooo that price is wild but in the long run it’s really worth it 🙏🏽 thanks for checking out my video 🙂
How much is it?
Varies from stylist and location but usually $600-$1500 😵💫
Love the video! The best about microlinks on CZcams! Thank you!
Aww yours the sweetest babe. Thank you 💕
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you for this! This is the best review I've watched so far!!!
Omg you’re the sweetest. Thank youuuu🙏🏽❤️
I have had micro links before and loved it ! It’s definitely a lot to maintain. Interesting you said all those Servives come with yours . I calculated the cost of the itip service I want to get , the hair is not included and is going to run me about $500 plus the service another $400 and the touch up is a about $200 . And the $200 is about every 2 months . Who ever you are going to , if you are in the la area I definitely would love to know who you go to lol
Damnnn girl! That’s pricy but I’m in Toronto and the prices aren’t that high yet here but i definitely anticipate that it gets that high soon! 😰
Very informative! And you’re soo pretty
Aww you’re so sweet. Thank you!!!
Sis your hair is BEAUTIFUL...I wouldn't even consider it my edges are busted
Your makeup is so flawless 💓💓
Thank you booooo💕💕
I realize I am kind of randomly asking but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released series online?
@Chance Parker meh I watch on flixportal. Just google after it :D -ari
@Ari Xander thank you, I signed up and it seems to work :) Appreciate it!!
@Chance Parker glad I could help xD
So pretty!! is this method comfortable/more comfortable than other extensions methods? Also how many rows/wefts do you have in your hair?
For me it’s definitely more comfortable than other hair methods because the install allows my scalp to breathe. I also like being able to properly wash my hair which is damn near impossible with a traditional sew in. I’m not sure how many rows she put in but I have 1.5 bundles on my hair. Keep in mind ALL of your natural hair is out so that adds to the thickness of the install💕
Ugh it hit hard when you said it’s not for people who have trouble managing their hair. I’m contemplating on whether to get these or not bc I’m tired of braids but I also don’t want a lace front bc that glue really messes up my edges. Idk do you still suggest to someone like me to try these out or to just wait a while longer?
Aww babe I hear you! 🥺 Are you ok with basic maintenance with your own hair? Like washing and styling? If you can do that I feel like you can manage with the links. I know when I first got mine it was a learning curve after the first install because it’s was a lot of hair for me but i adapted and got use to it fast. It’s also helpful to talk to your stylist about the products you should use and what you can do to help make the hair more manageable. The best thing for you would be to reach out to the stylist and book a consultation as she can definitely prepare you for what to expect. Hope this helps 💕
Thank you SOOOOOO much! Awesome video.
Glad you enjoyed it babe 😉🙏🏽
I've been wanting an install done like a sew in or lace front but recently came across microlinks. Would you recommend them for a first timer and do they appear more natural as compared to sew ins and ect. ?
Well everyone has to be a first timer at something 😊 Are you comfortable taking care of your own hair in it’s natural state?
Pretty l am considering this but l have really thick 4C hair that l really don’t want to perm. Even with a silk press my hair will not stay straight 4-6 weeks. I am tired of braids and wigs. Since you said my natural hair is out l’d probably have to really really blow dry and flattened the hair when l wash it. I like more curly hair using flexi rods. Thanks for sharing.
Don’t perm it babe! I think you could literally just wash it and put flexirods on it. I did that one day and lovedddddddd how it came out. Just use a bit of mousse on your hair and it’s good to go. You’ll probably want to get some sort of anti frizz spray as well 💕
Would you recommend Tape in extentions for people who dont want to get microlinks?
I’m personally not a fan of tape in extensions but i totally understand why some might prefer them. I don’t think it works well with the texture of my hair and i find they don’t last as long because i like to use oils in my hair so i think they tend to slip out. Do you use a lot of oils in your hair?
Thanks for sharing, how do you manage your new growth with this style ?
No worries at all babe! Same way i would handle my regular hair - the links grow out with your hair so you just have to be a little more gentle with brushing to ensure you don’t hook the links and pull them out but it’s nothing crazy. I advise getting them tightened every 6-8 weeks though to prevent breakage or too much strain on the hair.
so is your hair relaxed or did you find hair that mathes your natural curl and then straighten it all...?
My hair isn’t relaxed so i just found hair that matches the texture of my hair when it’s wet. Then I straighten and curl it 😊
Thank you so much
Anytime babe 💕
My hair natural grown hair 3c is the length of your install (waist, 18inches) Do you think it would be too heavy for me to get something 24”? My hair doesn’t feel heavy to me . So idk 🤷🏽♀️. My hair is also very thick but super fine strands. Can I lay it down in the GA heat? Will it survive a partner and child who pull and play in my hair daily?
24 inches is a lot of hair..keep in mind all your natural hair is out. 24 inches is a lot for me but it depends on what you’re use to. U said your hair is super thick so i think it would be best to start with something shorter while you learn how to manage the hair then go for longer lengths. Microlinks shouldn’t really be pulled as you could damage your own natural hair and this may cause the links to loosen faster.
@@NovaKaneBeauty Thank you for that advice! This is the first time I have ever heard the truth about the mechanics of the process/ the reality of upkeep.
Of course babe! Let me know how it goes but overall i still highly recommend Microlinks ❤️
Do you recommend having micro links in high school. Especially because of schedules.
I mean it all depends on if you 1.) can afford the upkeep 2.) have the time and resources to maintain the hair and know how to take care of your natural hair as it is. Do you think you would be ok with those things? ☺️
Does your hair still grow? My hair grows a lot in braided weaves due to less heat damage however I'm tired of the bulkiness of the braided weave
Omg girl yesssss. My hair is so much thicker now cause it can breatheeee. I also oil my scalp 3 times a week so it really gets the nutrients it needs. Plus with Microlinks it’s like having your hair out but just more of it so you have to deep condition it and wash it as you would normally with your own hair. I haven’t done a traditional weave in maybe 3 years now. I can’t handle the tension anymore lol
I know you say 6-8 weeks for tightening but in how many weeks did you retighten?
I think sometimes i was able to push it to about 8-9 weeks in between tightening 😊
Where did you get your eleylashes from they are pretty .. and I am looking into micro links myself but my only takeaway right now is that for maintenance I would have to be washing and styling it myself which seems like a lot for me to do on my own . Because the install from the stylist would be in another state and I know I cannot travel every two to three weeks to get it done. Do you think I could go to just a general stylist to get maintenance??
You can absolutely go to another stylist to get maintenance babe. Just make sure they are super careful not to pull too hard on the links but they can do a wash and style for you with your links in. You’ll love microlinks once you get use to them but make sure you do a consultation with the stylist before the install so you can ask as many questions as possible and ensure the install is indeed right for you. My lashes are individual lashes - I do volume sets so you could ask for a volume set in a doll eye shape to get this look. Hope this helps 💕
Do you wear your micro links year around, I just got them in November and I and think about Summer vacation
Ya you can but I always recommended breaks in between because you don’t want constant tension on your hair. For example, I like to wear my Microlinks in the summer and fall but usually wear my natural hair for a while in the winter and spring 😊
Hey can you part and braid your hair like French braids?
You sure can babe! As long as the technician installs the hair in a way where the parts don’t show the microweft or Microbeads
This is so helpful, thank you 😊 I’m doing mine on Monday. I hope I look good 😊
How did it come out girl!?
@@NovaKaneBeauty I didn’t like them hey. I think the installation wasn’t it
Aww no…that’s the thing about this install. I definitely recommend going to someone who truly knows what they are doing even if it’s a little pricey…a bad install looks wack as hell. But maybe down the line try again with someone else? I hate that you had that experience tho 😔
you’re so cute!
🥰🥰🥰
Do these damage your natural hair or cause breakage?
As with any hair installation you have to give yourself breaks in between installations to avoid breakage. I have been wearing my links on and off for about 2 years now and i have not had an issues. My biggest word of advice is to always make sure you get regular tightening done by the stylist to avoid any extra tension on the hair.
How much does it cost to have your hair tightened without paying for hair? How often do you give your hair a break and for how?
It depends on the stylist but it could be between $150-250 but like i said it depends on the stylist so it might be best to check with them directly so u can gage what your overall cost would be. I recommend giving your hair breaks for at least 4-8 weeks in between installs. Hope this info helps babe!
Can you swim in micro-links? Also how long your natural hair must be to use micro-links?
Absolutely! Just make sure you dry your hair after. The links need to be attached to your hair so i would say your hair needs to be at least 3 inches
Do you workout with microlinks?
Absolutely!!!! You can do anything with Microlinks babe. It’s like having your own hair out so you have to treat it as how you would treat your own hair
Is this a good option for those who suffer with migraines?
To be honest, they were tight the first 24 hours but after that i was fine. Is your scalp super sensitive?
@@NovaKaneBeauty not super sensitive, just dry..but I was looking for options that weren't going to be tight
You should be fine but you will have to get in the habit of greasing your scalp and moisturizing your hair at least one time a week. My scalp gets dry sometimes and using castor oil once a week made a hugeeeee difference
How many bundles is this? Is this 2B?
3 bundles babe and yes it’s 2b hair
Can I get it if my hair is relaxed
Absolutely 😊
😆 you’re so cute @13:00
can we workout with these? i run often and i don’t want to lose my progress or worse damage my hair!
Absolutely! You can workout and wash it after if u want. You can pretty much do anything with microlinks
Is that painful? Tight?
I would say it feels like a new sew in on day one then after that it’s fine. The microlink specialist usually checks to make sure it’s not too tight as well 😊
You are BEAUTIFUL
So are youuuuu babe ❤️🙏🏽
Do you actually feel the plastic (links) in your hair or does your scalp like hair when someone touches it. want to know before I get this hairstyle
Oh i don’t feel anything…when someone touching your hair they will feel something but it’s nothing like when they would feel your braids or wigs before. It’s pretty much undetectable
Where did you buy your hair? How do you wash your hair ???
Sorry I just seen your co wash video. (New here)
Hey babe! I posted a video on washing my links before - czcams.com/video/iSEv3qS1D2E/video.html
I also recommend possibly buying the hair directly from a licensed stylist or vendor. I bought mine directly from my stylist.
how long do you go before washing your hair?
I wash it every 1.5 weeks but i could go longer if i wanted to
What hair companies do you recommend
I got my hair from ONYXROSEHAIR - she is the only who installed my links so i bought it directly from her 😊
How many inches are your bundles?
I have in 20 inch bundles but it’s layered as well so i cut the ends a bit 💕
What kind of hair is it
It’s Indian hair babe - i got it directly from a stylist though 💕
My hair wasn't included in my price. My hair was 320 and my install is 900.
Some people include the price with the install and some don’t but both seem to be normal in the industry 😊
