- Using items around the house, I made some floating baskets, islands and containers to keep my aquatic plant roots in tack so my Koi cannot snack on them, I was also able to contain my floating plants and keep them from going into the skimmer and clogging up the works.
HA! 8 seconds in and I like her already. She’s like a happy hippie with a Jamie Lee Curtis smile. 😄
this is the best comment I ever got! thank you
Finally someone who's informative and actually shows everything instead of cutting out everything
Garlic Burger thank you! I appreciate it
I like the planter basket with pool noole pieces.
thank you, That is my favorite one
Thank you for these ideas. I have been scratching my head on how to keep the plants afloat in my pond.
Just don’t put a turtle in the pond, mine use them as basking areas hahahha
Fresh water Friday yes can't wait to see them💯👍
Freshwater fish ROCKS!
Great ideas you have given us! Your pond is absolutely Beautiful! I love all your ideas! We have a small one, Sun is on it most of time so you know how hard it is to have clear water! We have a few plants but I love your and just not knowing what kind of plants to use. Thanks to you I know a whole lot more now! And how to keep them afloat. You’re amazing and so much TALENT!! Thank you for sharing. I love all the noodle ideas!
Thank you so much Deborah
Use pipe insulation. It's already slit to slip over the pipe, is black and has self-adhesive strips so you don't need zip ties. And....you only need two sides of the pot, not 4.
Great idea, I will use that in the spring
Thank you! I fasten mine with fishing line.
What a great idea!
Sue- you have inspired me! This is what I have always dreamed of having in my backyard. Wish I still lived nearby so I could come see it in person..., Well done!!! You have done a beautiful job.
What state are in?
These ideas you are showing really have me thinking of what I can do in my pond.
Please let me know what you come up with, I love trying new things!!
Awesome ideas . Love your pond
Glad you like them! they are so relaxing
LOVE YOUR POND & IDEAS!!!
Thank you very much!!
Very smart
SuperXrunner this is the second year using them too! Thank you
You just saved my pond. Did a pond on the whim and bought pond plants and couldn't figure out how to make them float since I bought the plants and no planters. Thank you so much
I am working on floating islands this year
Awesome work. I agree with you taking the time to cover the different colors. I dig the shirt, it's nice to see someone showing some love. Peace
NYGOLD thank you!!!!
This is great!
Thanks
Yes, these ideas are super. I’ve watched this 5-6 times. I make these too
Hi Suzy, your video popped up today, I’m watching again. I have made a few baskets, 4 water lily protectors, a long poolside hyacinth float. I liked seeing you giant pennywort. I have some in the bog. Was going to toss them. But can add to a basket. It’s been getting hotter here south LA already. I need to vacuum the pool so badly. Just putting it off with humidity & mosquitoes. I need to move the lily/ net protectors to fertilize and rearrange things. I hope you are doing well ! Cindy
Black flexible irragation pipe works also. Make into any size hoop you want, and connect with an air tight coupler.....
Where do you find this? It wasn’t in my local home depot
Great idea! I love how creative you are!
Heather Nielsen - Scarlet Aquatics thank you Heather
So many different great ideas! Love the pond :D
Thank you so much
Absolutely love your pond! This is a great inspiration I really would like to make a pond like this for my house!
Go for it! I get so much out of it
Very cool Suzie..can't believe I missed this video
Lacey's place I am going to be making many more this year, I tied some together and it made like floating islands. These worked great for the actual marginals. I am sticking to the hoolohoop for the hyacinths and water lettuce
@@QueAquatics i can't wait to see what all you come up with..right now I am trying to create filters for my pind for the 2 pumps I have, without cutting the liner...originally I was going to make a diy skimmer and filter and just burry the pipe..but I've decided not to cut the liner for a skimmer..any ideas ..all I've got is different size plastic totes with lids
lol i've enlarged mine 3 times...love your ideas
haha I get it! thank you
Cool idea and I love your pond!

If you buy the pipe insulation from your home store it comes in black in two different sizes. One side has a cut in it already.
Awesome tip! Thanks
Weed blocker material is awesome , can use it for so many things!! 👍☑
zip ties on of the best inventions for water , and Velcro for none water!!!
love your green braclets lol!!!!
#SuzyMotherNature!
Hahaha you are too funny
I'm using pipe insulation on my baskets. Same material as pool noodles, already a dark grey color so no need to cover it up.
I think I like the dark gray better
Great ideas! It's awesome how inventive we become in this hobby. Thanks for sharing and as always do what you do if it works for you.

SPOILED FISH thank you! Isn’t Cop awesome!!
You could spray your blue foam pads with non-toxic Krylon Black Spray Paint that Tanner Sherpa uses from Serpa Design. 💕
What a great idea! Thanks for the tip
Hey Suzy Q. You know me and DIY, I love it. MUST use zip ties. Great Job and the pond is looking awesome.
Fishman thanks Fishman!
I like your creativity. Would it be easier to just put a ring by the skimmer to keep plants out? Also you have a beautiful pond.
Aqua Apprentice hahaha that is a great idea. I might try that as well, thank you for the idea
I am doing it this way for this season, thanks for the idea!!
I like your ideas, one caution, fishing line almost cut my KOI in half. He survived because we caught it in time. Just a watch out.
Oh my!! thanks for the warning. I am not going to use that anymore. Its not worth it
love it! I am trying to figuring out mine how to arrange my pond plantsbcoz right now my turtles keep ruing them
My turtles destroy all thing plants and lay on all things floating
@@QueAquatics poor plants.mine are all gone except my Taro bcoz it was not easy for them to ruined it,
You have a definite eye for design. Are you a professional landscape designer? Love it!
Deb Cobern thank you so much! No, I work in an HR office
Thank you for helping me out with this project! How do you keep your pond water so clear? My pond is under full sun, I have a skimmer and waterfall with a pump rated for over 1000gph, 2 aerators, water hyacinths, lilies and water lettuce but my pond is still green due to algae bloom.
I wasnt sure how either until I found this: czcams.com/video/SZFvtnVuItc/video.html
whats that blue thing called ?
It is a pool noodle. So far I have found them to last 3-4 seasons, I just had to keep tightening the zip tie
What plants do you have in there please?
Timothy Haas I used giant Pennywort in one of them, I put the invasive hyacinth in the hoops, my deep basket I used a tropical Lilly. But in my pond there is two kinds of rush, irises, cannas and so many more. I also used
Water lettuce
What media was that you used?
The garden material
Used to block weeds
Did they work
ThirstyRabbit Tanks2U yes they did! And the koi couldn’t eat them too
Hello
Hello
