DIY Floating Wetland Island | Will this thing even float??

Come along as we construct a cheap DIY floating wetland island for the new pond. Cheap and easy way to add some habitat for the ducks and the fish. We will have to wait until spring to plant the aquatic plants so stay tuned!

You know I think I've seen these before. I had no idea what they were. I was Kayak fishing a small farm pond and I saw several wood squares covered in foliage out in the lake. I thought it was something for the fish, but after seeing your video I think it was duck islands. Thanks for the video. Pretty neat. Great job by the way.

Thank you for sharing. Can you please tell me how they did after a winter freeze? Did they come back ok?

Those bottles are not “extra flotation” … if anything, there’s ever so slightly less air inside the pipes, because of bottle plastic and lids.
It does prevent a compromised seal completely filling the pipes, though.
But it’s not extra air.
