Tyler Smith is the man. He’s an absolute DAWG. I hated the pick because of what was still on the board when Dallas drafted him, but damn this was such a smart pick smh. He’s a stud.
He was my pet cat in that draft and Cowboy fans hated on me hard for that. We got him though, need more help now. 2 more !

In my opinion...Tyler is definitely better at run blocking than Zack. He looks really good here. Cowboys got a good one. Now they need to find a tackle that can replace Tyron Smith.

Asim is going to be the athletic replacement jus need to get his grown man up to par...but dont count out MattW...once he proves healthy and a lil nasty seasoning.....73 just leave him alone...for next 15 years.

What a great pick in last year's draft. Now, if the Cowboys draft a promising OT in the 2024 Draft then this line can thrive.

Nice breakdown of my favorite player. I caught so much hell for him being my top player I wanted(within reach) in Dallas from that draft class but he's what we needed. Shouldn't have stopped there though.
Get you a jersey brother. I bought a David DeCastro the year the steelers picked him for those exact reasons.
I hope Tyron smith has a couple more healthy seasons in him but if not I hope he draft a left tackle in the first round to keep Tyler smith at left guard.

Wasn't terrible? He played over 1000 snaps as a rookie at LT without practicing for it in pre-season and was still pretty good at it,
Exactly where we need to keep him L.G. we are going to be facing some very strong I.D.L. for yrs to come. Tyler and Tyron are road graders in the blocking game and top 3 to 5 in pass pro. Left side of our O.L. is playing at Pro Bowl and All Pro level. We have our All Pro L.G. for the next 10yrs hopefully. L.G. is our only O.L.position we don't need to move or replace next yr. Would love to sign him long term before 2024 begins
LT is more valuable than LG. And Tyron is made out of glass.
But, I have to admit that you have a good point that we need an equalizer against Carter, Dexter Lawrence and Hargreave (49ers).
We can’t play with a backup LT in the playoffs (against Bosa, Hutchinson, Reddick etc), if Tyron is injured. I guess we need more depth there. And I don’t get why O’Cyrus Torrence went to the Bills one pick after the Cowboys picked Schoonmaker. That was a horrible mistake in my opinion.
@@vince2565 IMO tackle gets paid more true enough but G/C keeps quick pressure off our QB and run game. Personally if I'm building my line I'm building inside out. We have seen time and again Steele allowing pressure on the right still allows Dak to move left or step up if the middle hadnt collapsed. We definitely need 3 O.L. even if Bass, Richards and Hoffman move up. We will need depth. I'm no coach or G.M. but I agree I felt like we should've drafted O.L. in the second rather it was T/G or G/C. Schoonmaker is already older than most and again IMO we had some options on the O.L. I was already sold on Ferguson being our T.E. 1 I understand that is a risk but not as big as the risk we took on Schoonmaker with a 2nd. No matter how we look at it health contracts age or performance we need 3 starters and/or depth.
He will still be on his rookie contract and he isn't going anywhere trust me

When he sealed the linebacker, he could have went to the next level and engaged the safety. It's just not taught that way because no one expect an OL to seal a linebacker in half a second. They'll need to update their coaching for such a talent

Remember he had a serious ACL injury? It takes time to regain form, he won't be last year's Steele until next year, but he's stil the best option at RT.

He really struggles vs Jalen Carter if he didn't get all that double team help, Tyler Smith would have been in a lot of trouble.

Great battle between those 2 kids. Carter won some too. He didn't get dominated. And Carter got in on a huge play when he sacked dak on that 2nd to last drive.
Carter put a beautiful move and got around Tyler with ease on that sack. Jalen did this a handful of times in this game but on those plays when they were 1 on 1, dak was getting rid of the ball in 1.5 seconds. Jalen carter definitely made his presence felt and still got upfield on a number of pass rushes even when double teamed. These guys are gonna be fun to watch head to head
Tyler won a few battles vs carter in the game against the Eagles buy I noticed Smith struggled quite a bit vs carter, the double teams helped Smith out big time.
Anytime the Cowboys draft an offensive lineman in the 1st or 2nd rd the rest of the league that picked in front of the Cowboys should be mad because they just missed a great offensive lineman. Its really crazy how they almost dont miss drafting lineman early.
But late round lineman not so much we need to draft more 2-4 round lineman
@Antbeast23 late rd picks are much more difficult. For example early rd picks you can draft for the type of player you want them to be or hope to be. Late rd picks you're drafting them because they have 1 elite trait and you're hoping to develop another trait that has potential to be elite. It's just much more difficult to project players accurately the later in the draft you select them.
Still needs to clean up technique and penalty’s but strength and athleticism is so good

After hearing about the issue with his knees I was SO concerned with this pick. But this guy had like Larry Allen strength. He just bodies everyone he faces, at any point in any game the strongest two players on the field are Tyron and Tyler Smith

I guess Smith found a permanent position where he’s most comfortable and dominant at, So I guess we will find Tyron replacement at LT maybe in next year draft or give Asim Richard a shot at it once Smith retires

I think your looking at the wrong player. Tyrone 77 is way better. On alot of 77 plays Tyrone will put his opponent on his face. It's pretty crazy what Tyrone does. 77 is the GOAT.

No one is saying Tyler Smith is the best guard in the NFL, or anything close to it. You could make a CZcams compilation of his blown assignments much easier than his accomplishments. I’m rooting for him though and he’s been incredible in the year and a half he’s been out to task.

NOT, the biggest hole in the OL is at LT. Yes Tyron Smith WAS great when on the field but being on the field has been a major issue. Cowboys will need to find a Left Side OL either Lt or LG. Tyler Smith will be an All Pro at either spot. Yes could use an upgrade at center but is less of an issue than the other
