    Man, as a steelers fan, I’m gonna cry if mike tomlin sends broderick back to the bench. Throw him to the wolves on a short week at RT and dude balls out. His previous start, he balled out. Theres absolutely no reason not to play him at this point. The two highest run game totals of the year have been when brodericks in the game. I dont care what you’re paying the other guys, this guy is better. He’s earned both tackle positions and he makes the team better. He shouldn’t leave the field again this season

    • @alexm2889

      Same thing he did with Kenny last year. Tomlin benches good rookies and throws them in unprepared

    • @chrisalexander428
      @chrisalexander428 Před 7 měsíci +2

      Honestly its good practice to give rookies bench time so that they have more time to study early on and gain more NFL IQ without overly taxing them before they're acclimated. You'd feel real bad if you said all that and Broderick became the starter his rookie year only to get a real nasty injury and lose out on even more development

      @@chrisalexander428 i guess it could increase his chances of getting injured...not sure though. seems like they really need playing time to develop, not practice time. that's where the NFL IQ really comes from. and jones went in, played great, and got benched again for an inferior player, putting kenny at risk (and then he got hurt on a dan moore failure!). JPJ clearly showed he was the best corner in preseason and was riding the pine for weeks as our secondary was getting torched. I think it depends where the rookie stands and who they're playing behind, and it seems like they waited way too long for these guys.

    • @chrisalexander428
      @chrisalexander428 Před 7 měsíci

      JPJ was playing preseason and has shown flashes of being a damn good corner, but if he were thrown to the wolves and getting smoked he'd probably stunt his development. There is a physical acclimation period and that should be extremely obvious when a player is adjusting from playing guys 2-3 years younger than them to playing guys 8 years older and as many times stronger and faster and more experienced. Some players can handle it right out the gate, some can't, and some look like they can and then get eaten alive

The last 4-5 yrs he was able to add quality weight to his lean/athletic body and now it's paying dividends in the NFL. Great to see him succeed. Everyone in his school knew he was going to be as great as he wanted to be.

    On the illegal man downfield call it was actually an error on Kenny’s part. It was an rpo call so when Kenny hesitated to throw when the pass route didn’t work he should have ran with the ball. In an rpo if the pass isn’t immediately there you need to run. Otherwise it will be a penalty every time if you throw.

    Jones is the steelers future at tackle and was a great draft pick to me. Steelers organization has to go get another top o-lineman in the 2024 draft to add to Jones and put a good and young o-line together that can be the future and a top o-line for the steelers. To me, they need another young Tackle and a future Center
