No rules. Leave it sticking out…
And now having watched the rest of the video … we take for granted what we have here at home. Although rates are increasing, not having power when we get up in the morning, or at meal time every day isn’t something we can comprehend!
Thank you for sharing. It is a wake-up call for all of us…
I love that Bad Chad reference. I Watch that dude everyday.
Thanks for another great video Div!
I like when the rear fenders extend past the bed!
Love you look of the long fenders sticking out 8” seems cool to me
Love to see your making progress on the Hudson - good call on the rear fenders..
Thanks 👍
Yup! Let it stick out! Keep that personality in there.
👍🏻Looking good!
I kind of like the skirted look of the fenders 🥰
me too
Looking forward to the end result 😮
Great to see another video ,, first thing that came to my mind when i seen the original Hudson fenders hanging out back like that * Rat Rod Continental Kit *******
I’m glad to see your subscriber rate climbing, you are the best show on CZcams ⚡️
Thank you!
absolutely
@@HappyHeartKustoms thank you! 🙂
Thanks for another , Brother !!
The truck looks awesome, keep it stubby.
I like the original fenders hanging off the rear
Howzit from Durban.
Original fenders past the tailgate.
Load shedding here is not as bad as your neck of the woods as yet...
Keep up the inspirational work Boet.
Thanks for the vote boet! I agree🙂
You rock Div, I am so glad I found you.
Thanks man!
We have a crappie ass Government in America to maybe one day we all will get honest people in the Government Another good video Diff KEEP THEM COMING 👏 🇺🇲
Div needs a generator guys! Let’s figure this out for our highly talented friend 🤔
Yes he does. What will it take to put a diesel generator on the property ? I’m in 🤜🏻🤛🏻
Hello Div, the original fenders look much better, and I am confident with your insight and fabrication skills you will come up with a fantastic design. Take care Boet 👍
I like the rear Hudson fender. It s good to continue witn the Hudson style... I like it!!! Your work is always good, Duff.
Thanks!
Can't wait to see this truck finished.
Absolutely going in the right direction Diff, bad azz.
Thanks for sharing i love your love shack you do amazing work with your limited power all the best
Its a guarantee that the Muppets in charge NEVER go without.
Any country.
Keep on with the fabulous build!
Jip, Same kinda shit everywhere...
Sorry about your current situation. Absolutely love seeing you work and be an artist. Love watching you scratch your head. Again I'm sorry for your situation. Any way. Big fan
Thank you!
Leave them coming out past the tail gate put you two curve bumpers even with the fenders
My thoughts exactly
Keep the length they cool, it gives great character 😊
Awesome evening brother from another country great to see you again on another awesome adventure let's get this adventure started lol 😂
Love that Hudson
I would leave them coming out past the tail gate and put French tail lights in them, that be a cool look
Yo Boet. The low shedding is a real disaster and the people of South Africa are in the dark times. Div with your content we get to see some great entertainment and we can forget about living in the dark ages. Thank you boet. Take care.
We gotta start looking out for ourselves boet!
Ok let's see what Diff is doing today 👍👍😎💪💯
Hi Div, thanks for the vid. Us South Africans have it tough, but the more gov fails the more indapendant from them we will become! Have a great week!
Yes, we gotta start looking out for ourselves. The more independent the better!
I like the fenders extending past the tailgate.
I love the original fenders and with a little tweaking I'm sure they will look great! You have a great eye Diff!!....Ken from BC Canada....
Thanks Ken!
absolutely. he's a metal magician he'll make it look incredible
Keep the fenders as is. They make the truck what it is. It’s a lot of work but maybe make the bed a little longer.
Thanks for the video , load shedding is a reality ,
Leave them sticking out. Looks kool.
I like the idea of having the fenders go past the tailgate , but I am sure no matter how you do it it will look great, you are one of my favorite people on you tube, I had no idea about the electrical black outs that you have to work around, I really like the truck you are building it’s really cool looking, have a great week, Brian.
Thanks Brian! I also like them sticking out, it's just different 😀
Sticking out: YEA !
Nice pick on the fenders 😎 don’t feel too bad here in the good old USA we lose a utility every other week 😂😂
I'm sure what ever you decide on will look great!
It’s looking good so far Div.
personally i love the look of the fender extending past the end of the truck. such a unique look that almost reminds me of bikes with the dragged out rear fender
Yeah man! You think like me🙂
absolutely
Love those OG fenders so glad you went with them !!!!! They are a large part of the personality of the Hudson truck .
Yeah, definitely!
Hi Div. I think it might look cool if you try the fenders backwards on the opposite sides. That way, you can save that big swooping arch without it sticking out behind the tailgate so far. I also think it will flow into the running boards nicely. Just a thought. Take care.
I did try that in a previous video, but the aesthetics did not work for me🙂
@ratrodsafrica Ohh...that's right. For some reason, I thought it was the Beetle fenders you tried backwards. Sorry. I'm sure you will come up with something cool 😎
I wish that you would’ve just tried swapping sides with these fenders that you’re using to see how they would look with their curve direction reversed. I think that would be interesting. But I absolutely love what you do and thoroughly enjoy your presentation.
Was thinking that same thing
I did try that in a previous video, but the aesthetics did not work for me🙂
Looking good Diff! Keep up the great work! It sucks about the electric supply! That is a real pain in the ass, and I would be super pissed!!
I love your channel for the same reason I love bad chad and full custom ian. You don't have a lot of fancy tools You see it in you head and make it. Keep up the great work.
Thanks! 👍
Div, much like others have said, you are on the right track. I like the fender with a bit of stick out past the bed. You are also correct that the CAD mock up you were making was not quite the correct convex/concave shape. Keep at it, you got this!
Thanks, I think we are in the same camp🙂
burning sunlight at night👍
😆
You said help you with the shape of the finders, well, l think just take your time and it will hit you. Different day different shadows 🥴😸 l trust you more than me with that one. Thanks again; love your show! God bless you and your family.
Morning diff from NZ😊
Mr. Div, because you asked :) I suggest extending the rear side with step-style bumper so that the fender can stay longer.
About the rear fenders, "You're welcome." 🤭
👍
😁
Remember this, nothing lasts forever. Times change. The heavens are watching everything and will eventually come to help. Keep your chin up and go one moment at a time...
Before 2020 here in sweden we had a good and strong power supply. Now the gowerment have closed many power plants. Now the electricbills are skyhigh and they are talking about the same "solution" you have in South Africa. Shot down power some hours and then back upp after some hours.
I really hope that your and my govverment buliding more powerplants and power solutions.
I really like the short fender look. 😁
I like the fender "fin" extending past the bed, it looks cool. But it's your truck, your design, and you must like it! Do what you want man! 😀 I live in Texas, and I've not experienced rolling blackouts so far, but I think they are coming. Throughout the summer we have been getting frequent warnings to conserve because the grid under stress and it's not going to get cooler in the future. To be somewhat secure I'll have to follow you and make my own power. I already purchased a small inverter generator to protect my refrigerated foods.
Hope you don't get those black outs!
Love this truck , have the fenders going out past the tailgate ❤
Hey Dif, glad you have solar on your house and partial in your shop. It is unimaginable that the government has not solved the problem. The original fenders look much better, I am sure you will come up with a very cool design.
hahaha, one step ahead Bro! the bit that sticks out on the Hudson is a nice place to French in some lights with a nerf barto finish it, need to make em same same as rear of front guard
I have a friend who is also a South African CZcams creator. He too suffers from the load shedding. He has several generators to keep the lights on when the government shuts the power off. I think the fenders extending out the back give it a real rat rod look. Thanks Diff!
Hi. What is your friends channel called
@@MrRudolphsmit Jan Kotze
Thank you for the report on conditions down there. I read something about the South African government problems and often wondered how you were managing. Now I'm trying to find out how Canada made out in the storm Lee. God be with you.
I've heard about that storm approaching!
Like your methodology and simplicity of your work. I am in similar situation in Australia. Your comments on the corruption of government were much welcomed as I feel these You Tube sites are used to keep the masses preoccupied while they shaft us from the rear. Hope you dont get penalised or censored for your comments. Keep up the good work mate. ❤🙏👣
How can one get censored for telling the truth... what about so called freedom of speech... If I do get censored or whatever, so be it! At least some people heard the truth.🙂
Yes let it extend past the tailgate. Keep the art deco character of the Hudson fenders. I like the shortening. Still has the right look.
Right on!🙂
I like the idea of a harley davidson hardtail style end to the fenders...
As usual great work champ. And as for warming up I’m with you Australia is starting to come good. Keep going fella your winning 👍
i went off grid in 09, best move I've ever made. but being off grid brings its own challenges, like power to weld. i got me a used military generator and i went with diesel its more stable to store than gas/petrol. glad you're staying with the original fender bro, KEEP YOUR CHIN UP..!!!
Well done man! Yes, diesel generator is my next step
The fender is looking good 👍👍
Rotate the fender towards the front so it doesnt have such a peak. So it lays a bit more flat. IF the front fenders stick past the front end, use that amount, or a fraction there of to stick past the back end. Im glad you said to hell with the beetle fender. The truck is looking good
Have the rearmost part of the rear fender, extend inward slightly to surround the vertical part of the tailgate opening.
I vote to leave it long Div.
It is your truck so do as you like.
I am sure it will look great.
Yes And yes, let it run long.
Have been binge watching your channel and playing catch up. You do some very impressive quality work and I like your methodical approach. Thoroughly enjoying watching the progress on this old truck. Michael 🇬🇧
Thank you Michael!
Thanks!
Wow! Thanks brother, really appreciate your contribution!
Eenee, meenee, minee,mo,catch the anc minister for electricity by the toe, make him holla and dont let him go,until he makes 100% of the power flow.
Well thought out and neat solar set ups Div,but thats your trade mark...nice to be asked about the gaurd,i think most of us are with you and your train of thought so far. What ever you do will look like it was meant to be.i know that for sure from the short time i've been watching.Thank you and Cheers.
😂 I think once we've caught him by the toe, he should be shipped to a deserted island in the Pacific!🙂
Thanks for the insight into what you have going on in your land . Others should be aware of what may come there way . As you said things started out quite good but the powers in charge that promise better only deliver for themselves and there handlers . Stay as independent as you can . Cheers !
Yes, things worldwide are changing for the worse...Luckily, out here on my little farm I can be quite independent.
Add an 8" step platform on the back and a handrail, like the old Fire Trucks.
I knew you were struggling with this design! I get locked down too and have to just get away from it awhile. Don’t force it, it will come to you.
Right on man!
I think your heading in the right direction on the fenders..
👍👍😎💪💯
Of course you would say that Don. You have an eye for style bro😀
Im really happy you decided to stay with the original fenders, definitely keeping the art deco flavor, check out some of the U.S. military auctions, if there is any bases in your area they get new 3 phase desil gennies every year, you might be able to acquire one fairly inexpensive 😊
Diff that is one sexy truck my friend
I like your fenders better then factory one's your a amazing craftmaster
Hi Div, a couple ideas - what would the fenders look like on the opposite sides of the truck? or, could you move the wheel opening more to the rear of the fender keeping the nice curves?
Great show and excellent work! Many thanks, Robert
I did try them on opposite sides in a previous video, but the aesthetics did not work for me🙂
Div I have a 5 kVa solar setup at home. I have no problem welding with my MIG welder on that.
And I am not even using the expensive Victron equipment. Mine is cheap Chinese Mercer copy. Going strong for 6 years now without a problem.
Good to hear! My current inverter is only 3 kVA though. So, either upgrade or buy a genset...
Leave the fenders sticking out and add a roll pan with a center step.
Dear Dif.
At 2.25 min: The first thing that instantly came to my mind is = how about to turn the fenders around = the short side pointing to the back of the car? But maybe you already tried this!? 2) I'm glad to see that you go with the original fenders.
Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
That occurred to me too. Curious as to how it would look.
I did try that in a previous video, but the aesthetics did not work for me🙂
Yes keep it long
On a vehicle from that era, the rear fender looks best if it mimicks the flow of the front fender.
Hay Diff, leave the length as is, but tilt the fender anticlockwise until the wheel arch is level, then trim the lower front to suit, you will get a more aesthetic sweep that is the same as the front, you may not have to cut the arch. Rock on mate.. awesome build so far. Jonathan
Div! My brother! You are on the right track with those fenders. Let them stick out the 200 mills. That is looking sweet.
If your subscribers are the best, just means your vids are the best.
I feel you pain with corrupt electric companies. In my area, we have one company that supplies the electricity, but you can choose the company that charges you. We recently switched from one to another and our bill immediately dropped in half.
Also, if you go solar, they want you to stay on the grid to supply the grid with your unused solar. 🤦🏻♂️
I just knew you would like them sticking out😄
Maybe run the exhaust out through the fenders? Hahaha; Bad Chad might have an extra idea but I do like the idea that YOU DO YOU 😃😺🤗⛵🐎👣👍💞!
If you put like a step bumper Diff style on the back, between fenders it will be the ducks nuts.
Hello, you are one smart cookie, Steve from Nb Canada
Thanks Steve
Thks 👍😊
Dear Deof the fender extended 8 inches which it’s not much , seems very nice, so you won’t miss that classic look the truck had, take care my friend stick to your instincts you are an artist you know better than us greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
I love it ya long. Keep it past tail gate
Thanx Div, let me be nr 1 again. Love this build
Dankie Herman🙂
I've had solar for 12 years certainly helps lately I got battery backup and extra panels, now most of the year I get $30 to $50 dollars CREDIT a quarter, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones, have a Lekka one
Well done brother!
