Plus the Knicks are also having a great year....It's a time of changing of the guard in the NBA and it's LONG overdue.

    I have to say as an old school NBA fan myself, Jokic is legit. The guy may not be the most muscular athletic big, but it's what he can do with that body which amazes me. There is just no explanation. He can do it all. He has post moves, has footwork, can be physical, he can shoot, he can facilitate, his IQ is also on another level. His impact on his teammates and how he reads the game is just incredible. He knows when to facilitate to his teammates and when to score.

      One of the reasons why he can play the way he does and not have to use too much speed is because he is deceptively super strong. He's sometimes called the Juggernaut for a reason. Out of this world torque and strength that hinders on leverage to get his way.

Jokic has got me back into the NBA after a long hiatus. I love the culture he has helped to create of selfless team basketball on the Nuggets. It is so similar to the effect that Bird had on the Celtics. Bird and Jokic are both contagious that way. 3 MVPs in four years. In this span Nikola Jokic is averaging 26-12-9 on 58-36-82 splits while leading the Nuggets 205 wins. It’s as dominant as a stretch as any player has had over a four year period in history and puts him amongst the inner circle of all time greats.

      Gotta win, though. Can't call it the most dominant four year stretch with just one title. The worst thing would be if he doesn't win it this year and we start hearing the LeBron media excuse about how it's a team game and none of it is his fault because of gaudy individual stats. If your team is one of the best in the league (like say, top three or so), you're definitely good enough to win it all. Especially if the best player in the league is on your team.
      Saying that, it's very tough to repeat, so if Jokic and the Nuggets pull it off, that's rarified air for sure.

    • @JakeStine
      @JakeStine Před 19 dny +7

      Blocks are over-rated too. They aren't as demoralizing to pros as all us fans think they are, and the majority of blocks end up in the hands of another offensive player who makes an easy bucket. Going for blocks also puts you out of position for getting a rebound in the cases where you miss the block. It's really better to just try to alter a players shot but still keep your position so you can box out and get a rebound.

    I like watching jokic play because he plays more around the basket like the old school players instead of just standing around the 3 point line and jacking up low percentage 3 pointers. It's why I like watching the denver nuggets because they have no egos and they like playing for each other. It reminds me of my 2004 detroit pistons with no egos, playing as a team and the team chemistry with comradery. Jokic and murray 2 man game is like the modern day version of stockon and malone by picking apart defenses with there pick and roll offense that teams have a hard time defending and figuring out. On top of the pick and roll offense, aaron gordan has become the 3rd option with the alley oop dunks while playing on both ends of the court and aaron gordan has become part of the 3rd man game. Pick and roll from jokic and murray and than the aaron gordan alley oop dunk is the 3rd man game is what I mean.

      Vice Versa, nobody can guard him. And he is considered the best point-center in NBA history. He also shoots over 40% 3pts which also the best among centers, then the other Center has to defend him out of the paint, Joker then has the dribble skill go to the basket. Assist, Long Range, Footwork in low post, and the tip-ball rebound style, make Joker a productive and be a threat in any genre.
