    My biggest issue with the ending is that Rumi forgave Humna too easily and neither the drama nor the characters called out Humna's selfishness. She didn't tell her parents about Hamza because she did not want to be the bad sister and lose her reputation. Her parents expected her to be more mature and sensible of the two. She wanted to remain the pure goody two shoes. It wasn't because of Hamza's blackmailing or fear for her father's reputation. That came later and even then when her friend says she should tell the truth for Rumi's sake, she says it's not Rumi's life that is on stake but her own. I don't mind her getting a happy ending, she had suffered a lot. But she was selfish, just as much as Hamza. Difference is he was bold and extremist, she was weak and timid.

    I think Hamza wasn't an inherently bad person, he had a fatal flaw, that he was a selfish person and he let that destroy him. By the time he realized his mistake and tried to amend it, it was too late. Humna had a similar issue but she spoke up before it got completely out of hand. Had Hamza not blackmailed Humna after marriage with Rumi or stopped before the honey moon and instead been genuine with Rumi before Humna spoke up, there would've been room for redemption.

    It’s not that the ending of Ishqiya could have been better. It’s that the entirety of the middle could have been better... the story and episodes never moved beyond slow shots and Hassan’s favourite thing, the flashbacks 😂😂. There should have been a lot more time spent upon the unravelling of the truth and the impact it had on All FOUR of the people involved, instead of all the consequences being tied in the last two episodes.
    Moreover, It didn’t leave as strong of an impact when Azeem just forgave Hamna because there was no time spent on their relationship developing at all. It seemed really random and out of the blue. Just it was so random.

    The ending of Ishqiya came as a pleasant surprise and was beyond my expectation from our drama writers. Where the writer didn't disappoint, the reaction from the audience was quite strange. I am surprised to see people supporting criminal behaviour of humza. He was a tragic hero indeed, he brought the misery on to himself. And all those who think hamna should have been punished, hamna did not commit any crime , she was a meek girl and she was shown suffering in the entire drama. The ending was good and sensible. A strong, independent and clear minded girl like Rumi could never live with an ex lover of her sister, who was also her harrasser and blackmailer.
    Rumi moved on, was shown happy but our audience probably wanted to see a Ahad Raza mir or bilal abbass approaching her in the last scene.😁 For them only then could Rumi be happy. For the audience, dumping a husband, even though a blackmailer , harrasser, or maybe feroze khan the actor was unacceptable.🤔

    • @fudgeSg
      @fudgeSg Před 4 lety +12

      Yes! Finally someone said it. Hamna did not commit any crime. I don't get why people keep getting all fired up over why only hamza is being punished and not her. Errr hallo, people... her fear of not speaking up is not a fault. It's a weakness. It's innate. So she's not at fault for keeping mum. It's circumstantial that she was helpless. If anything we need to be aware that there are people like Hamna in our midst and we need to listen to their silences. Therein lie many messages. So listen 👂🏼up with our 👀. I'm so glad you made these observations - I'm with you in your observations! 🙌🏼

Because in love comes forgiveness rumi never really loved Hamza I guess just because hamna was weak and cried alot does not make her actions more right then hamza she was as wrong as hamza but she was forgiven because she shed some crocodile tears Hamza destroyed two lives and everything Was taken away from him Hamna destroyed three lives but still got everything in the end so justifying right?

      @@nmeditz9654 well first of all I don't agree that hamna was equally wrong as hamza. I will elgive my explanation later but first I want to say exactly what you said, "with love comes forgiveness." now put that in to hamza s actions? Rumi had more or less same personality as hamza. If he couldn't forgive hamna (who didn't cheat deliberately) why does anyone expect Rumi to do the same? When hamza did everything with planning.
      Now to what I said, hamna and hmaza weren't the same. Hamna was weak, hamza knew that from before. I understand she could have told Rumi about her love she would have helped her sort it out. Also, cheating is not a crime in law books but blackmailinh is. Its about time our people get out of bad boys fantasy and see the reality.

    There were two very very perceptive and strong dialogues that redeem the whole theme of Ishqiya.
    1. Rumi telling Hamza that he never once thought of the "other" person losing her respect within her family and the family putting her in a dock. Further she says, that Hamza will understand the pain of the same when he himself loses the respect of his family ! Absolute truth!
    2. Hamna explaining to Azeem all her "ghalatis" and finally saying the biggest of all mistakes was to have spoken the whole truth to her husband. Instead of solving anything it has only messed up the whole thing. That is when Azeem realises the "courage" that Hamna has shown in speaking the truth{even if belatedly} and understands, quite truthfully, that if he does not extend his unconditional love to her at this stage, no wife will ever feel comfortable about speaking her heart to her husband!! This was indeed very very deep and true!!

    My Take On Ishqiya's ending:
    I loved the ending. I know all people love Feroz, his brilliant acting might make them feel pity for him but he doesn't deserve that. Okay, no doubt, he realized his mistake ( Remember, he realized his mistake in the ending episodes of Khaani too) but it is of no use. The way he deceived anyone, kept on torturing Hamna (plus harassing her) is condemnable and he deserved this kind of punishment. What do people think if someone guilty of murder apologizes at the end, shouldn't he be given the death penalty or any other punishment (which he rightfully deserves)? The thing is that Hamza did everything wrong. All that revenge and his aggression were useless. He spoiled his own life. No need to sympathize with him.
    Meanwhile, people demanding Hamna same punishment as Feroz seems insane as both committed different mistakes.
    Btw Feroz, Hania, and Ramsha, all did an amazing job. However, I must say, they dragged a drama bit plus flashbacks really annoyed me in some episodes. But overall, it wasn't a bad drama.

    My take on ishqiya:
    People feeling sorry for Hamza shows exactly how toxic men get away with crap and nobody questions them. I feel absolutely no empathy for Hamza. I feel sorry for Rumi, but I believe women should leave men like Hamza. Rumi did the right thing by leaving Hamza.
    As for Hamna. The only thing Hamna did wrong was not tell Rumi about Hamza before the wedding. It is understandable why she didnt, but that doesnt make it right. However, Hamna in no way cheated on Hamza. Sure, it wasn't a great thing to break up with him like that and marry Azeem, but it isn't like they were married. Let's say hamna had just broken up with Hamza because she had had enough of him, and not because of her father's pressure. Hamza would've reacted the same toxic, bratty way. He had absolutely no right on hamna. She wasn't his wife.
    Hamza actually blackmailed Hamna and in reality such men often resort to acid attacks, and sexual harassment.

      I kind of disagree with hamna' track.
      First of all, when their mother came to know about what transpired, all she did was cry and had bouts of self pity. Why didnt she confront hamna, who irrespective of the reasons, did actually betray her sister? She wasnt even asked by the mother as to why she didnt tell them about hamza early on before her marriage to azeem, when they shared such a close bond.
      Why is such poor dynamics between sisters so prevalent in pakistani dramas? Hamna came out unscathed, that is something that didnt sit well with me.
      Secondly, when rumi suffered a miscarriage, no one, not even her mother or her sister, gave her emotional support. They stood like bystanders when the roof was falling over her head. Just because a character is shown strong, doesn't mean that he/ she might never need a shoulder to lean on.
      The best track was of hamza' parents. The entire family of hamza just stole my heart.

She literally destroyed her sister's life, as she already knew hamza's demeanour and that things will in everyway would end badly for rumi and rumi did actually pay dearly for her sister's cowardice and selfishness. Here’s my take on Sabaat: The power dynamic between a patient and a doctor is different to that of a married couple. Miraal was more inclined to listen to Dr Harris and be vulnerable when she was sitting in his office seeking medical advice; she isn't expected to do that with her husband as one has off days when you don't feel like elaborating. I am beginning to think this is exactly what they wanted to show, you can never have feelings for a patient because once in a relationship you both have to put 50/50 and that’s not desirable when you started with treating them as a patient. Which is why you can see Dr Harris get annoyed because he’d usually have patient listen to his advice if this was his office.

    In my opinion, Ishqiya had the best ending like what's wrong with the people. oy yes, this time a man was not forgiven in the end and just because a couple is cute, it doesn't mean they have to live together if one is a deceiver. and about forgiving Hamna, the writer gave clarity as Hamna told everyone truth so she deserved the forgiveness and a happy life on the other hand, even after falling in love with Rumi, hamza didn't tell the truth. Rumi said so right that samjhote par rishta nai nibha sakti and I think she was happy at the ned like doing a job, being independent and taking care of her mother. It couldn't be any better!
    and yes, that ishqiya ishqiya music after every dilouger was ruining the whole episode but it's fine as the ending was pretty good.

      Yeah, he looked intently at her when she said, "Mein share karne mein believe nahi karti" and he tried to coax her when she got offended for way too long at the comment he made to his friends lightheartedly at his wedding. He also keeps shooting down Miral's family members' offers to have him stay over at their place. In the next episode he will say, "Meri khuddari ko cheen ne ki koshish mat karna". Yes that last comment could be indicative of Dr. Harris's future behaviour with Fareed Saheb as he talked over his wife right in front of Dr. Harris, and sided with Miral as usual. Dr. Harris is definitely not going to allow Miral to have a free reign and that would mean he's treating her since she's so used to getting her way.

      @aliyabawany2444 Před 4 lety +1

      @@mrsusman7982 Let me tell you something, OSTs aren't designed chronologically. Watch the OST of Ishqiya, you see Rumi crying after she lost her baby, but you would think that crying happened when her dad died or because she found out about Hamza and Hamna because in a scene before in the same OST, you see Rumi looking through the window as her dad was being taken to the cemetery. Right after the scene with Rumi bawling you see Hamna breaking down on the bathroom floor and you wonder what tragedy has befallen the poor sisters but that scene was from the first few episodes when Hamna received Azeem's proposal and she couldn't talk to Hamza about it. In the OST you see the last scene from the drama where Hamza was sitting with all the toys, dolls and disco lamps in a dark room, as the first scene. Hamza has been a brooding, destructive guy, and you might think that scene would come sooner in the drama but it didn't.
      Similarly, in the Sabaat OST you see Anaya sitting in her room completely shattered which in context is when Fareed Saheb came to her place and insulted her family. In another scene you see Anaya walking in her balcony with a dupatta on her head when she doesn't wear one at home, and you would think she is a widow, because somehow a married woman must always be at her husband's arm. In a third scene you see Anaya in a white shalwar kameez, dupatta around her neck, sniveling into her dad's shirt and you might think Hasan's dead, but then in the drama that scene is the one after she received a slap from Miral and she went straight to her parents' place. I have seen the OST, and Miral is an agreeable girl with Dr. Harris, and her dad and Nirmal for as long as they give her everything she wants. She treated Ali like her flunky. She respects Dr. Harris for the reason that he can manipulate her better than she can do him. If Miral is smiling towards the end in the OST that doesn't mean much.

      @aliyabawany2444 Před 4 lety

      @@mrsusman7982 It's her attitude we have a problem with. Yes, let's see where it goes. To be honest that scene of Miral's in the bright red kurta with the gold print and red dupatta, where she's looking out of the window, was in the OST and we just saw it in the latest episode. With just the OST we would think her Eastern attire somehow makes her more gentle and submissive, but it was probably one of her post wedding clothes that she received as a wedding gift.
      Miral's dressing is purposely contrasted with Anaya's as Sarah Khan had revealed in her interview. Miral's outfits are carefully picked Western apparel that should look nothing like what Anaya wears. Miral even went to the lawyer's office where she was stood up by Ali, in a pale yellow, casual, modest, high collar kurta, with no dupatta for when she would actually have to read the Nikkah. On her wedding with Dr. Harris she wore no dupatta on her head unlike most Eastern brides.
      Yes, the black face veil which she takes off in the last scene of the OST could point to her "character development" since she is playing against the backdrop that well-behaved and compromising girls like Anaya always dress modestly, but it could very well be a costume she had to wear to suit an occasion, as seen previously. It could also be a disguise that she is wearing to conceal her identity before she unveils her face to someone she would visit saying, "I know you've been looking for this. I needed the cloak to get around security at the entrance." She can't go from tucked sweatshirts and hip-huggers to a Niqab, unless Dr. Harris is affiliated with some religious group.

Although the situation of sudden marriage between two cousins is very cliche in our dramas, it was handled very well by the writer in this drama. The entire situation, dialogues made a lot of sense. Good writing. In all the other dramas the decision and the couple looked foolish, but here it is very clearly explained how the family initiates and how the hero agrees through some very heart touching scenes and dialogues. Kudos to the writer, director and the entire cast.
    Up till now I have enjoyed watching the drama, I hope it continues to entertain us.
    Apart from this, GPM, prem gali and Mushq look promising. Well written scripts, quality humour, satire, good treatment is what we, the audience want. After all it's all about entertainment. We want to feel good after watching a drama.

I think all she did was sabr and on the right time she did tell the truth to Azeem which lead to problems but after that everything got settled. (Thats the power of Sabr and being honest which I felt.) She was suffering in silence so maybe thats why nobody took notice to that. On the other hand, we all love "Feroz khan" that's why it was very difficult for us to watch him suffer. There were a lot of lessons given in the end if we look closely.

Hamna's biggest fault was not to tell her own sister. Rest of it is understandable. What Hamza did was unforgivable. People should understand that it would have been a torture for Rumi to live with Hamza after knowing the truth. She was satisfied after the divorce. Plus the scenario between both couples would have been very awkward and painful for everyone if they kept meeting. Hamza doesn't deserve forgiveness just bcz he couldn't help falling in love with Rumi. That also happened bcz of Rumi's bubbly and loving nature. What if she was a simple girl who would quietly take his rudeness at the wedding night when he was being indifferent to her?
    I'm glad that the makers showed courage by showing the most reasonable reactions by everyone at the end. The dialogues were spot on. Rumi's dialogues to Hamza in their last meeting should explain everyone why she couldn't forgive him. Hamza's family's dialogues should tell u how decent families should respond when their son/brother turns out to be like that. We should stop normalizing men getting away with crap. Well done team Ishqiya and well done Aamna and Hasan for being the voice of reason.

    Aamna and Hassan’s take on Ishqiya and the ending...💯/💯. Wonderfully done! Fk made Hamza lovable but the character was very toxic. No one deserves to be in a relationship with him.

    Awesome review guys.. I was really waiting for your review...Perfect.. Aaj toh aap logo ne dil jeet liye.. Matlab aap dono ne jo kaha kai ishqiya ke baare me.. I agree with all the points.. Pappiyaan for both hassan and amna.. 😘😘😘😘😘...
    Just because a couple looks cute together that doesn't mean they should stay together even if one of them is a toxic person.. I think log jyada isliye naraz hai kyunki hamza aur rumi ki chemistry bahot achi thi.. Shayad koi aur actor hota toh baat alag hoti.. Waiting for all new dramas to start.. 😍

    my 2 cents on your review on Sabaat
    1. Dr Haris will turn out to be a negative character and he will bring Miraal and her dad down to knees. That will serve as redemption for their arrogance.
    2. Dr Haris wore short sherwani which is quite in trend these days. Lots of designers esp in our neighbouring country are doing this.

    i am in complete agreement with you guys on Ishqiya. I loved hamza's mother SO much! and i have been saying this from the beginning.. what hamza did to Rumi..and knowing the kind of brave strong and just purely correct girl she is there's noway someone like her will forgive Hamza for what he did. and people crying over how rumi n hamza didnt get happy ending seriously just needs to watch crap like naagin. jao bhai tum logo ko logic nahi pasand.
    And about Humna...i didnt like her lack of punishment because.. She did ruin her sister's life. no matter how weak or scared you are.. no older sister would ever let something like that happen to her little sister. she needed to pay for what she did.

    I think showing Romi with her child and Humsa still trying to persuade her would have given us some hope that someday they would have a happy ending . Just like “yeh dil mera” ❤️ yes , I did create my own storyline 😂 and it wouldn’t have been such a dissatisfying ending . I feel like Humsa was totally wrong but in a way he got cheated too . Not trying to justify his doings for sure . But I think eventually he should have been forgiven too . Yes , I kinda crave for a happy ending😅😂

    3 big reason why people hate ishqiya Ending
    1 hania and feroze chemistry was so good people love with it 2 Hamza is play by feroze khan he famous for sad ending drama like Khaani he loved by people for mir hadi role and this time fans want happy Ending
    In feroze drama
    3 Hamna can stop Hamza rumi marriage by telling truth to rumi or her parents and if her parents don't accept love marriage tho osha humza sa piyaar Karna hi Nahi cahiya tha

    @sk-sl5ok Před 4 lety +1

    People blaming hamna should step into her shoes n see if they can go against their I'll father. Just because our favourite star Feroze Khan played Hamza people are loving him. Hamna from the first day wanted to be true to her sister n husband, but she was afraid of her father n when he was no more she got the courage to stand up. It was Hamza who was betraying her wife n also taking advantage of a person's illness. The best ending really kudos to the writer. He didn't take popular turn of punishing female character and idolizing male like most writers. The best characters would be hamza's family!

    Never saw ishqiya only last episodes and some clips, I think there is a thing called character building, Hamza was a narcist but he was character changed into a loving husband thats why audience was a bit upset, it was similar to death of Jamie Lanister in game of thrones

    After watching Anaa i thought Usman Mukhtar will get better roles and had high expectations from Sabaat but i feel instead of getting lead characters he is doing supporting roles in a way i think instead of getting promotion after Anaa he have got demotion the way his character is in Sabaat, the most surprising thing is that the new comer got a lead hero role,personally recommend to Usman Mukhtar that please please dont do this kind of roles try to do lead powerful roles, just like he had as Altamush in Anaa as we all want to see him eagerly in lead roles as a hero or even anti-hero,all the feel the director didn't do justice with Usman Mukhtar...very very disappointed

    I agree with Amna and Hassan completely on Ishqiya. I know you all love Rumi and Hamza and Feroz is soo handsome and is such an amazing actor and we all love him and loving him is not wrong but what wrong is CLOUDING YOUR JUDGEMENT FOR A CHARACTER JUST BECAUSE YOU LIKE THE ACTOR ! Don't justify Hamza just because he is a hero and you feel bad for him. This type of thinking is very very wrong and is very harmful to the society because this type of thinking exactly reflects who we are . I know you guys must be thinking it is just a drama and it doesn't really matter what type of character we support and hate but it actually matters because there are people who take dramas seriously in their life and think people like Hamza are actually very correct because everyone is supporting Hamza.
    P S - Not to sound like I a brag but people do take dramas seriously and try to act upon them.
