You get a perfect song in your head and by the time you get even a 10th of it made you fuckin forget the rest. I remember sittin on fruity loop studio making a song, got 12 hours in and only had 30 seconds done. Next day had no idea where the fuck I was going with it..
Just keep at it man. It took me a year of fucking around to finally make a song from start to finish. Been making music in fl studio for 6 years now and I think my music sounds decent.

What you're seeing today is the equivalent of the gap between 30s/50s southern blues/folk and the waves of white artists that appropriated it into mainstream culture in the late 60s/70s. Nothing changes really, except now technology has permitted for a whole new level of musical sleaze that was once unimaginable. Either way you cut it, these half rate "DJs" you hear today are usually just playing tracks and beat matching with Ableton live. Yawn.
