The glacier burst in Uttarakhand has brought back murmurs that the tragedy could possibly be linked to a nuclear device a joint Indian IB-CIA operation left behind and lost close to Nanda Devi peak. In episode 683 of #CutTheClutter, Shekhar Gupta talks about this fascinating story of espionage, subterfuge, and mystery in the Cold War.

The success of 'The Print' comes not only from its journalists but also from its witty titles.
I feel like half their success is because of SG sir. He is one of the few neutral journalists. Even other journalists from the print are biased. You just have to look at some of their articles to confirm that.

I haven’t seen any detailed analysis on this topic yet. This video is just remarkable SG sir!

Pls do a CTC on the toolkit saga. (and don't defend anyone)
The only clutter in the "toolkit saga" is that Indians have no idea how large scale protests work or are organized.
I was actually surprised to learn how it was such a big deal that Greta Thunberg shared a toolkit.
Lemme state it again, a toolkit is MEANT TO BE SHARED.
That's exactly how many of the protests are coordinated, planned or organized. At the time George Floyd murder & other blm protests, numerous toolkits were shared with details ranging from contact details of the local representative, Congress people, DA, Mayor, etc. to hashtags, talking points, email, tweet formats for social media.
Not to mention, protection gear, DOs & DON'Ts & a lot more stuff for the protests.
You can probably still find most of them online easily.
It's no big deal.
Idk why Indians have made it such a big deal or breaking news issue.
If anyone even dared to talk about arresting someone for a toolkit, the judge, the defense & everyone else would shred that person for tramping or daring to tramp on someone's 1A rights.
@@user-bm9fo5kr1l exactly correct, don't know why many rw idiots are making it such a big issue out of it, also it is a fairly common thing in the west.
I have been waiting for it since 4th feb...its not gonna come.
Print is a recent 'convert'. I bet that with the kind of intellectual capital they have, they had begun to see through the constipation infested former masters....and foresee the decline of all except bjp.
Wait for a couple of years...n precisely till BJP again wins next elections...for SG n Print to be really neutral....they r in transition phase right now.
(Was that too scathing??)
He will not defend anyone but will definitely attack nationalists and Patriots, for that is what traitors and sleeper cells do.
@@user-bm9fo5kr1l Mr. KNOW-IT-ALL....problem was never about a 'toolkit'....problem was about its contents, its handlers, creators, editors n recipients! Look at the content again.

I would subscribe to that despite being a student
That would be great but who would do it ?

It would be great if Gupta ji with some of his old friends and politicians comes up with a segment to tell a story each day..
that way, hype of his storytelling will decrease bro
Fortnightly would be great. Like a magazine issue !
It was in 1978 that the Time Magazine that broke the story of the lost plutonium device on Nanda Devi. Indian government had kept silent on this all along.

Yup!!
One of the best episodes of CTC certainly but this issue needs a resolution because the idea of a radioactive device lying somewhere in the Himalayas is terrifying. But SG Sir's efforts to bring back these fascinating stories for the present generations is commendable.
Nuclear monitering device is not the same as nuclear device. They're not dangerous. 😂😂
Nuclear device is powered by small Cells or capsule like shape plutonium batteries.Which means that if these plutonium capsules mix with water i.e glassier which is river source it could definitely have serious trouble from it. It is bit dangerous though.
@@vzubuddy77 amount they use is very small and they have radioactive decaying properties. plutonium wouldn't harm human in such small amount, bodies will excrete them ( theoretically) .
@@vzubuddy77 anything could happen, but the amount of radioactive materials in nuclear batteries are very low, and by now it's half life should almost be over.
@@PseudoProphet Yes anything could happen and I really hope that it will not be concerned issue.
@@jdeep7 hahaha it cannot cause meltdown... That's a different technology... Atomic batteries are not based on nuclear reactions.. they work on radiation itself. It's much safer.
Wow. Interesting. Got a vicarious thrill from today's CTC
Sir, you should do a separate series where you tell us a story from your rich experiences. When I listen to you; I feel like I'm Harry Potter looking into Dumbledore's Pensieve...
This is the Harry potter story to disclose our security importance.
This is naming places, personalities, projects of strategic importance.
He is confusing our people regarding our nuclear insecurity .
He pushes doubts to common Indian minds regarding our scientists.
Cut the clutter never disappoints when it comes to Stories. And look at the time. It's almost bed time. The stars have aligned.
Edit: Tonight I am going to search about so many things. This is epic
but if uh gonna observe it little bit deeper .. uh may find out the inclination of cut the clutter towards Lefts.
Hey, a pleasure to hear from you, Sir. Thank you very much for such detailed analysis through cut the clutter.
This has to be one of the best episodes ever!
I'm not sure why SG is not making the video to declutter the "toolkit".
Its quite some time now but seems like he is unwilling to post anything about it.
Another toolkit is being prepared on how to present the 'toolkit' in a "neutral" way.
What happened to sushanth case.Media was allover it,Many conspiracy theories emerged in the media. What happened now,Clearly there is no evidence isn't it.Same goes with tool kit is there any concrete evidence,If there is strong evidence only then journalists should speak about it
Shekhar Uncle is probably reviewing the toolkit himself...now wait...he does not want to implicate himself correct..that would be dumb....
True. He looks unwilling. Who knows ,he himself can be part of it knowing his background.
What a fantastic story... Superb reporting. Will definitely look for the books.

This is gold mine , it is really hard to find such information online and some one decluttering for audience. 👍🏼👍🏼
Many are asking about Toolkit. Sg is a seasoned journalist. He would wait for information to emerge before jumping on to the headline story of the day. Clearly, one cannot discount the Khalistani/ISI link and on the other hand, one must question if the due procedure was followed in the girl's arrest.
Hi Sankalp. Thanks for writing in!
@@ThePrintIndia Actually there is one mistake in your last National Interest. You quoted or rather mentioned Tejasvi Surya quoting Nani Palkhivala as "India's socialism is the kind of system where you take money from the honest rich and give it to the dishonest POOR". In the original quote, it was DISHONEST RICH and not "Poor". It is a minor infraction on your part (Tejasvi Surya quoted the legend correctly), but considering the times we live in, you should correct the quote at 11:20 in the episode. It already has over 140K views. The last thing Libertarian right and Capitalism need is labeling the poor as "DISHONEST". thanks for introducing so many things otherwise we never known.
My friends and I have trekked quite a bit in and around that area ...Bagini Roopkhand, Pangarchula. Have noticed big slice of some of the mountains missing ... presumably they have slid under the force of the glaciers...that must have happened some time in the past. There is denudation along some of big rivers and the mountain slopes have crumbled.
At the foothill of some of the mountains like Pangarchula ...the approach in Oct is built on huge rocks (3 ft by 4ft) piled up like a lego.
