- I bought the cheapest tools I could with a budget of $200 to try fine woodworking. We have all been there, buying something cheap because it is what we can afford. In this video I try to use those tools to actually make something nice.

I totally agree with your comment about people who don't use calculators to do math and ovens to cook. You work with wood, you're a woodworker, it's that simple. I don't understand people who want to gate keep their hobbies.
Exactly!
Great sense of humour and excellent videos, keep it coming!
thank you! Appreciate it :)
I like the black.
Great video, getting better every time 👍
To get started, sheep tools or even used tools will do the job. And times will tell when you need a newer or better tool. So thanks for that video, maybe you can to the same video about car tools you can buy sheep and repair/tune you car ... 😁😄
not a bad idea Michael. Maybe a car should be my follow up video :)
Had to pause the video and check Biltema's shop vacs... Unfortunately that price was just for some accessories for that specific shop vac.
Nonetheless, great video! It's always a good idea to get a cheap one first to determine which specifications/features are useful for you. After doing few projects with the cheap tool, one will know what to look for in the more expensive models.
Great one loved watching you make it through that challenge.
Thank you man!
Nice job as always 👍
thanks you!
That finish is beautiful 😍
Nice work 👌🏻
Thank you so much 😀
Hey Pierre my man that was an awesome vid. I loved the story you told and your video skills are so cool.
Not sure where I saw the microwave comment, but I liked it 😂
Exactly what I did, when I moved to finland and started my company, I didn't have money enough to buy good quality tools, so I've bought some lidel and Biltema tools whenever I needed one, I've long replaced many of them, but until this day I'm still use a biltema angle grinder and a Lidel sabre saw 😂. I just bought it when I really needed one and couldn't afford a makita. I dream of only owning Festool in the future.
The stool came out really well, nice job Pierre
thanks mate!
I really like this design! I also use Rubio charcoal on ash all the time. Need to try the precolor also.
Yes, the precolor is very nice if you want to stain the wood.
@@TheSwedishMaker Vad är fördelen med Precolor egentligen, Rubio har ju oljor med pigment i? Fördelar/nackdelar? Och du måste väl ha en olja ovanpå precolor produkten?
Hi 👋, I started working for my self back in the late 70s and retired in 2018/9 , I wasted a lot of money when I first started working, but as I built my work shop, I purchased better and better tools and machinery, I think I have spent £££££ , I have done a evaluation for insurance purposes, it is a lot, Maffel , Festool, SCM , Felder , , I still have a lot of my tools and machinery, if you look after them, they should last a long time, it is worth spending the extra, especially if you want to make it your work, Phil from the moulin France.
First welldone on the work and it became a very nice stol. But pls dont hate yourself, special not with a product done with those tools and I think the raw look is sometimes better looking and the black down pull it down at all :-) Best wishes from Denmark
I, personally can understand the concept and frustration, some people may have, about the modern woodworking tools and people using them. It's not easy, and it takes many years to learn to master woodworking like our predecessors did. But if you work with wood and make things out of it, then you are a woodworker, doesn't matter the process or the tehnic you use. In the and we will not be able to make anything today if it wasn't for our predecessors, we learned so much from. So that have to be a reason to be proud of, not angry or disappointed.
Yepp, agree with you. We should def. have respect for those who have that kind of knowledge and pass it on.
Love the chair do you have plans? - Nice job!!!
I will have them uploaded during this week I hope.
Cool video, biltema for the win 😂
Cool video! As a tip, when gluing the top to the legs, you could put the seat in position and stack all of the tools on top to act like a clamp. Though, for the price you paid, I’m sure they are a fraction of the weight of more expensive tools.. maybe put all of the scrap wood up there too 😂
Good idea! haha, yes they are all plastic basically so not a lot of weight :)
Great project, but black again!
Hej, nice video 👍 i wonder what the best place is to buy 'virke' here in sweden? like bok, ek, ask etc. In the common bygghandel (bauhaus, bolist) i only can find limfogad trä.... mvh
Thanks! You can buy either from people selling online - there's a facebook group called urban wood in Sweden. Or you can buy from Calexico in Gothenburg and they ship the wood. Not sure about other locations as I live on the west coast.
@@TheSwedishMaker Great, tack sa mycket! awesome website from Calexio. I will look into it later when my internet is a little faster ;) mvh
I would have never started my woodworking without Parkside tools. I still use plenty of them in my workshop. Btw, do you have somewhere the legs in PDF? Just asking..
Yes, I think I will upload the entire design during this week.
Where do buy your wood? (I also live in Sweden)
I buy it through either Calexico or privately through a Facebook group called Urban Wood.
Hej Pierre - snygg pall! The big challenge in the project was not using the cnc router, right? The jigsaw is a tricky tool even if you had an expensive one. And I don't see the difference between an expensive overhand router and a cheap one as that big. The video should be called "this is how hard it is to make a stool without the cnc".
that would have been a good title :) And thanks!

Pssh, you used a printer for your template? A real woodworker would use a stick and draw it out in the dirt!
haha yes, well that's whats planned for the next video
