I watched the whole documentary and it’s unbelievable to me the fact that when he was in school one of the neighbors said that he always smelled bad and he was also a freshman at the age of 18. How come the school never got involved or evaluated him through the department of education or how come ACS or CPS never got involved if he was getting abused or neglected as a child

The first victim was in the basement for days and if you're afraid of someone, surely them arrested with the body of a person they killed is a for sure way of getting them away from you. Not to mention when tommy as killed, she blamed everything on the gf and told them about josh and tommy being buried in the backyard but wouldn't let the police search. So when they finally were found 2yrs later, she should have been arrested for making 2 families go through that. As a mother, and seeing what she made tommy's mother and family go through during those 5yrs, no excuse. As for the girl that helped bury tommy and took a picture of him in that hole, she should be arrested too for keeping her mouth shut for 5yrs. You can say you're afraid for your life but when you continue to go back to that house knowing what took place there, there's no fear there.

@@shanesmith5988 While it is fair that his mother made some bad choices during his childhood I believe it was her even worse choices during his adolescence and young adulthood that lead to these killings. Namely her lenience and liaise faire parenting style. However, as a mental health therapist I have met hundreds of people who have experienced much, much worse abuse from their parents and NEVER hurt, let alone killed someone. This man was a psychopath and was likely born that way. She merely created an environment that catalyzed his behaviors and enabled him, but the outcome was disastrous.
This was so messed up!!! The mom, the school, the community, they all had a hand this. There were signs he needed help. It all left me very disturbed. Amber she got what she deserved. I still think it takes a tribe to raise a child. There were signs from a very early age he needed help. This probably would of never happened.

Next year will be 5yrs since her conviction but it's been over 10yrs since she participated in the murders. You could always write to her. lol If you do, I wouldn't mind a detailed account of that interaction. Thank you in advance.

I think they were informants and her testimony guaranteed the convictions with the maximum sentences. That’s why everyone took a deal.
Without her testimony and cooperation…getting convictions for much less serious charges would have been difficult.
Besides the mother, there was no reliable witnesses and everyone else’s testimony was different,
The house was such pigsty, with so much filth and so much foot traffic and the murders happened 4 plus years ago….getting physical evidence showing who did what was basically impossible.
Her testimony and cooperation made all the difference.
The fact the mom is unfazed by all this madness esp seeing her son murder someone speaks volumes as to why this guy turned out this way. I’m surprised she even had a job…

Amber would've done anything for her man apparently and his mother didn't do enough to help him. They're just as guilty. We never heard about his father though. I wonder how that relationship was if it existed?
I think in the full thing it says the mom and dad seperated and after he lived with the dad for a bit he moved back with his mom and step-dad and never talked with his birth dad again. I may be a little off base.

I can't fathom why anyone who saw the state of his house and knew how crazy he was, would think it's a good idea to stay at his house for a month. In this case, sleeping on the street looks a lot safer.

More like why was tommy at that house? He didn't know them, nobody knew them. Why didn't the police listen to what we were saying considering they had just moved to that town in tbe first place. Why didn't the police air the cctv footage he was caught on the night he went missing? Especially considering it was a half mile from their house, they could have easily found that car.

My friend lived half a mile from that house. Was caught on camera at the gas station that night with what had to be the car they were in flashing their lights at him and driving up/talking to him. When they drove away he was gone, and found buried there 5yrs later.

Their backyard was fairly big too, but no veg or fruits growing. I tried to grow eggplant in a pot on my balcony, but it got green bugs infestation on it. I cut the plant, it grew so nicely, but the bugs came back, so I just cut the whole plant . I should have sprayed with vinegar though.

Nope, they should've. The mom had no issue coming back to that house after seeing both bodies there. If she was so scared the perfect way to get away from who you're scared of would be getting them arrested with possession of the victim they murdered's body. As for the dixie girl, i get if she was scared. But the fact she went back to that house again, took a picture of tommy and then did nothing for 5yrs? No excuse. They threaten your life, ok you do what you have to do to get out of there. But she went back to that house after she left the first night do she obviously wasn't that scared. The mother told the cops what the gf did 2yrs after she murdered tommy but then wouldn't let them search then either. The worst part is, has the cops actually listened to everyone and actually released the cctv footage, we might not have had to go through 5yrs of this. Tommy was caught on cctv footage that night. Showed a car flashing their lights at him and driving up to him. Not sure what made him get in that car because nobody knew them, but that was a half mile from where they lived.
