    Well, it's kinda nice but when designing this they didn't consider the absolute joy of all of the lights in the entire shop dimming for a second with that sound announcing your failure to everyone in the building. Or spending the next hour trying to figure out how to get that thing unstuck, because it crashed so hard it just refuses to move to any direction.

    • @RoboArc
      @RoboArc Před 8 měsíci +1

      @85CEKR the berrings gone 😭😄 everyone wants to run a cnc as fast as possible,but fr that just adds unnecessary wear and tear to the drive assemblies and rails.
      I tend to run machines at conservative feeds and speeds to avoid crashes like this.
      A few of my freinds went in on a big ass HAAS for their shop they have, I never did run it as fast as possible. It's scary when you do 😂
      If it's not production, speed isn't really a big deal. I have a shitty machine for home use, so I definitely can't afford to crash it 😂

    • @85CEKR
      @85CEKR Před 8 měsíci +1

      @RoboArc your exactly right, I have a small machine shop with a few lathes and mills all okuma's, we do mainly low production and even though our machines can do anything you see online, there's just no point. As an example we have ongoing family of part that we do. They all have a set up on the lathes with 5-10 minutes of roughing on a 30min cycle time. We run them at 400sfm and the kyocera insert we run will literally cut for days. We've had multiple salesman come and give us inserts to run at 1000-1300 sfm they work great for a few parts but then they blow up. When it come down to it running at 400 sfm non-stop for 2 or 3 days is just better. Changing an insert takes at minimum 3-5 mins, longer if the operator is busy doing something else and everytime an insert goes you have a chance of wreaking the toolholder, we use the coolant thru ones so your taking 3-400 bucks.
      Slow and steady wins the race

      Lol. Workers in my shop, experienced machinists destroyed a lot of machines. They still work, but 5 axis are out of their field of tolerance. B axis on one has 0.02mm of slope and that is a lot. Can not be fixed, that is the best outcome. It will only get worse. 3 lathes are also beyond repair. A couple of guys got fired, but most of them are still working. Mistakes happen. If you don't have money for a repair, do everything by yourself. 6 machines can be productive by one person, the owner. And if you want to work, then you need to take a risk with other people. I am working with 24 haas, 8 hurco mills. I have also done things. That new project, 16 brand new shunk hydro lock tool holders, carbide tools, new 5 axis haas. And I am working on that for 1100 euros.😂😂
