"Wrong Detective. They are *not* under arrest."
The look on Logan's face... "Ooooooo...."
Meanwhile Max it's talking with his wife, i enjoy when he's "Teaching" Logan about a few detective stuff and tricks
That defense attorney seems like a really good actor. I hope he makes it big some day.
"Oh, did I interrupt your concentration? Didn't mean to do that."
Seems like a real mother f***er to me.
You're gonna love him in "Coming to America" 🤣
don't forget Jungle Fever and Goofellas too. He's really going places.
Oh I heard he's a bad mother.....SHUT YOUR MOUTH!
I love how gritty and filthy everything looks - it makes it authentic esp. those first seasons.
Young Philip Seymore Hoffman an an unknown Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson had already been in a major movie ("Coming To America" w/Eddie Murphy) in 1988, before this...
That made this episode so more amazing!!
@@Deborahtunes in a small part
@@LeighMet ~ It doesn't matter if it was or wasn't. The part in "CTA" was more prevalent than the one in this episode...
Is it just me, or did both of them drop a whole two octaves in their voices? 😅
Samuel L Jackson might be the luckiest guy ever, hes been in every movie since 😂😂😂
Max is what I strive to be in my future job, smart, knowing your boundaries but enough to where you can bend them before the breaking point. He was a good cop.
He was a good actor. Not a cop. This is fantasy world not reality
@@davidbryant3532 sorry dad
Wow. The guest actors in this one turned out to be some BIG stars!
Man Samuel L Jackson never ages. Still looks good 🎉
I actually think he looks better with age😊
He was 42 here if this was 1990
Even in the earlier seasons they are holding hard cases and i enjoy Greevey and Logan working together with their constrastive POV's
Great episode with lots of great guest stars and my favorite police trick for perps to incriminate themselves.
The defense attorney and the orange-haired guy had one scene together in this episode. It was a courtroom scene at the end in which neither of them had any lines. Although they both later appeared in Paul Thomas Anderson's "Hard Eight," they had no scenes together in that movie. So this episode includes the only scene that they ever did together.
Yes! 8 minutes of the original. Sweet
Samuel L. Jackson and Phillip Seymour Hoffman in the same episode--LEGENDARY!
Probably the most experimental episode of the first season, pulling the reverse Uno card by telling the prosecution's side first and giving most of the last half hour to Greevey and Logan. It's also not about a homicide.
In addition, the "future stars of the week" are possibly the most famous of any. Samuel L. Jackson, who had just done Goodfellas and Do the Right Thing and was poised to kick his drug habit and break out of that tier of guest starring roles to become one of the most prolific actors of all time, and the late, great Philip Seymour Hoffman, just stepping into the world of acting and about to make a name for himself as among the very best actors of his generation.
Jackson nearly threw his talent and life away but fought back the darkness inside and successfully channeled his addiction into his acting career. Hoffman, too, stopped using heroin and cocaine within a few years and eventually reached the real highest of highs, taking home the Academy Award for Best Actor for his exact performance as Truman Capote and earning endless praise for his commitment and talent. Sadly, despite the love, Hoffman wasn't able to beat his addiction. He returned to using heroin, but he had been clean for nearly 20 years and the game had changed. Fentanyl was being added to the heroin as a cutting agent more and more often, and Hoffman's comparatively low tolerance after so much time away made him more susceptible to overdose. He had the good fortune and skill to be someone who will be remembered and immortalized due to his career, but Hoffman tragically ended up an early victim of the "Opiate Epidemic", and is very possibly the greatest loss in the entertainment world due to that epidemic. RIP PSH.
God, the original episodes had real grit and style!
That’s Chris Noth and George Dzundza in one of the early LAW AND ORDER episodes, circa 1990-1991.
Heh heh heh… “You have the right to remain silent- FREEZE!” Love Max’s bad cop moments.
I loved the retro interscene music in the early days of L&O
1:29 "Yeah yeah yeah"
LOL Mike Logan!
Meanwhile Greevey after confiscated the marihuana/crack pipe with a face of "So we dealing again with drugs?, you're gonna to have a word about this"
Back when you could smoke in the interrogation room lol.
Max was devilish in this episode, love it!
Another dazzling performance by Mr. Moriarity! His kind of bland, pasty affect makes his legal schemes all the more deadly and cold. Really nice work by all involved.
Always a favorite show....still watch it!
Lol. It looks like a Corey Feldman in the thumbnail 😂
0:45 - 1:10 thank you for the arrest music 🎶🎶🎶
I know these are snippets to whet the appetite to stream the show on Peacock but the short length is perfect for the Tic-Toc generation. ADHD, anyone?
0:46 It's like they just let a child riff on a Yamaha keyboard or something hahaha. The editing and music for this transition is so very-not Law & Order haha
I didn't know Samuel L Jackson was a Lawyer
Before the Director of SHIELD, he was a defense attorney.
He's also been a Jedi, a mob enforcer, the operations manager of a dinosaur theme park, lost his mind and tried to take over the world more than once, etc. He gets around.
What a heavy episode of talent
I think he saw them snakes on the plane
Brilliant strategy! Let them incriminate themselves, ha ha!
Is that hoffman?!
Oh man
The kid from Shawshank Redemption!!
Gil Bellows - interestingly enough he would also play a lawyer on Ally MacBeal
That music hahahahahaha
Jules used to be a defense cousel. Neat!
Early law and order soundtrack wow
OMG this is horrible...they could smoke INDOORS??
Its Barnburner!
And Gil Bellows.
That Max is a smart mofo😂
My thoughts exactly!
It never shows the whole episode , 😮 as soon as it starts getting to the point the show stops!!!😢😮
5:07 phillip seymor hoffman?!
Isn’t that Samuel L Jackson?
No. Lookalike.
Greevy looks A LOT like Teddy from Nine-Nine!! Are those actors father & son by chance??
A baby Samuel L. Jackson! He was cool before he was cool.
That's why they call him moe.
This is how it should be in Chicago.
# 319!!!
WHOOOOOOO.... DOGGY!!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Samuel Jackson wow 😳
Isn’t that Erika Jayne from the housewives?
I think it is!
Erika Jayne Spotted at 1.25
1:08 1:17 1:24
Is that Samuel L Jackson?
Isn't the girl reaching for the pipe in the bed Elliot Stablers wife ?
fk
Was that Erika Jayne in the bed??
Yes
