Marvel Phase 4 is like taking a bunch of random side quests after completing the main campaign.

Guardians of the galaxy while one of the best mcu films was ultimately a curse for it. The humor in it was a such a success that every movie since has tried to duplicate it, to no avail.
The point about emotions for a character not porting over to the replacement is spot on. I heard The Boys showrunner saying he is just going to give us a new Noir and the fans will be ok with it. dafuq
I actually thought They were gonna Set up GALACTUS as the BIG THREAT in Phase 4. I was so Wrong.

Phase 4 had it's moments like NWH And WandaVision but it felt unfocus and like it was going nowhere. Hope Phase 5 And 6 are better and have more focus.

Phase 2 and Phase 4 are the test phases.

Except Phase 2 actually had likeable movies, compelling stories, and inspiring heroes. Phase 4 had little to none of that.

Marvel and DC movies aren't quite like they used to be... From a 20-30 year span, you think they would be absolutely amazing now with the technology, acting and directing... Instead we get Sh*t. Some are good, really good but alot are sh*t.
I felt like The Eternals at least tried to take on a more serious tone and went for an epic feel. It was poorly executed but it didn't feel as purposefully silly as the rest of phase 4.

@@brendaspence1824 It was endearing because Simu Liu is an enthusiastic marvel nerd and tries to be an all round nice guy, but it doesn't take away the fact the movie was sub par and all over the place.
It was ok, nothing really mind blowing, but hey, who knows.
I liked shang chi alot. The only good stuff was spiderman, wandavision, loki, moonknight and thats it.
I'm not rocking with his Captain America take comics passed the shield to Sam , Wakanda kept there's a secret so colonization wouldn't take the power of vibranium

The main thing I'd like to point out is that, regarding the replacing of characters, there is a precedent for each of those cases happening in the comics. Sam Wilson DOES become Captain America. Kate Bishop DOES become associated with Hawkeye. Riri Williams DOES replace Iron Man as Ironheart. Yelena Belova WAS Black Widow. Shuri DID become Black Panther. Don't get me wrong, I love Chris Evans, Jeremy Renner, Robert Downey Jr., Scarlett Johanssen and Chadwick Boseman (rest in peace)...but all of these thing did happen in the comics.
I think people wouldn’t be bothered with it as much if in the case of some of these characters, they handled replacing them better in the MCU.
People have problems with this stuff in the comics too
Don't also forget tho that those comics sold less by quite a margin. There's small cult followings of those comics but it wasn't overly loved by the main consumers.
@@YTCBlackStar I worked in a comic shop during the time the majority of those storylines came out. Sam becoming Captain America and the Kate Bishop storylines were very popular. Shuri becoming Black Panther was relatively popular. The only one that didn't do very well was Ironheart's storyline. Yelena Belova has been Black Widow as a villain and hero for a long time.
Phase 4 in general was just alright and got some new players and in phase 5 we can see what they can really do

Black Widow and Loki were actually good. I'm looking forward to Loki season 2. I agree all Marvel had to do was start it all over again, repeat the main process of building up to the final fight against a new Super Villain while introducing new Superhero like the Fantastic 4, etc. if the main villain was leading up to Dr. Doom.

Disney is the MCU. Only films that weren't released by Disney were Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk. Disney bought Marvel during production of Iron Man 2

All 3 Spidey’s, Loki, Moon Knight and a bit of Multiverse of Madness. That’s all I liked about phase 4. Just my opinion.

I made some of these creative agreements when the ambitious Phase was announced.
I enjoyed Black Widow, Falcon, and parts of What If?, and that’s about it. They weren’t great and weren’t terrible. Much of the other projects fail due to multiple major creative issues.
I agree with everything except number 4. Most of those character swaps are actually swaps in the comics. So in a way its true to the source material.
Just because there's source material doesn't mean the source material is good.

MCU hasn't been very good since Infinity War. I thought Black Widow was pretty good, Shang Chi was ok, Spider-Man: No Way Home was good, Dr. Strange 2 was alright.
I honestly enjoyed Eternals a lot.
Unlike the other phase 4 movies, Eternals had a solid script and direction. It had a few forced progressive stuff, but over all it was great.
the way the speedster lady powers was portrayed was badass

I don’t mind some of the characters having to carry on a legacy like falcon cos he did in the comics so I’m not bothered but I see why people would be bothered. Hawkeye I don’t really know about Kate bishop but I didn’t mind apart from Clint Barton obviously giving her the name Hawkeye which I didn’t like.

At this point the only thing I'm interested in with the mcu would be how they eventually handle The X-men. The X-men could be a major jump start in getting audiences back. That's if the casting is right and they figure out a way to implement the X world with mcu...

I agree Phase 4 kinda sucked, but in the larger scheme of things, I think they were intentionally letting themselves expand in terms of the 'diversity' thing. I'm hoping that they just wanted to up their roster of non-white males, and now that they have, Phase 5 will be more comic-detail oriented and spend less time pandering.
