The new Yamaha PSR EW400 is equipped with the new Live! Grand Piano sound which matches exactly with the stage grand piano. This is quite suitable to work on repertoire while practicing for Trinity Grade examinations. Yes, it has got the Grade soft touch mode in the edit menu. Just scroll through the edit menu by pressing the function button till you finally find the "Grade part" on/off. This keyboard redefines its touch sense with four kinds, categorically, especially soft, medium, hard and fixed. Thank You.
would you suggest it for piano players that aren't familiar with those buttons and things? In other words, is this keyboard recommended for people to start learning the digital thingy?
Yes. Its easy to understand how to operate it even without a manual. But it has a manual you can fall back to if you are having issues. I play the keyboard though so it might just be that I know keyboards well
This is a remarkable masterpiece ideal for arranging multiple music scores during official events. Since, I am a beginner, this is a perfect educational tool for all Trinity students.

Question...With the built in rhythms and backing tracks Yamaha includes in this board (or any other board / manufacturer), can you compose an original song and copyright it using the Yamaha accompaniment, intros and endings without copyright infringement from Yamaha? In other words, can you freely use the intros, accompaniment, rhythms and endings in these type keyboards / workstations free and clear?
Hi Samuel! If you're still there 5 years on and haven't had this answered, I'm pretty sure that, somewhere in their literature, Yamaha authorises owners to use all the inbuilt features to produce music without infringing any Yamaha copyrights. Obvs, copyrights for any famous music are a different matter and you would need to check very carefully on this with the original publishers.

Hi Lionel, The EW400 is 76 key, has a more substantial speakers system, and also a AUX input. Any further queries, please do not hesitate to call or visit us: 01323 636140.
Yes, you will need a sustain pedal. You can buy a generic one with switchable polarity or a Yamaha one. (FC3/FC4/FC5).This also has a sustain button, which will sustain everything until you switch it off. But you will most likely prefer to get a pedal for it.

It actually has quite a few good songs. Some of the sounds have some weird tails, but it can be used as a pro sound source in a pinch.
