My cousin started at ep 100 and was confused why Cad wasn’t present in clips I showed him from earlier episodes. I deduced he had never even heard of Molly and told him about an “NPC” who frequently traveled with the Nien named Mollymauk Tealeaf, only revealing after talking about his death that Molly was in fact Talesin’s original character before Cad. He lost his mind to say the least.
Going from gleeful Jester on "terrorizing" to Molly on "turn the lights off" was emotional whiplash I was _not prepared for._ I love how well the song and drawings fit together though!
“But all good devils masquerade under the light” with the Traveler covering a scared Jester’s eyes got me shaking
Its so ominous and puts the Traveler in such a scary light and just omg

I always said, The Traveler is Vecna who tries to come back to the prime material plane :D

I can relate
I have seen this animatic a hundred times and I only just now noticed how perfect the two frames for "don't remember what we look like" are. Not only do the lyrics fit perfectly, but it shows what I've always found fascinating about Nott and Caleb's dynamic of them both running from who they were for completely different reasons, and the first frame is Caleb talking to Veth and the second is Nott talking to Bren. It's perfect.

This song has been on my M9 playlist since maybe,,, 2 weeks into the campaign? Back when the playlist was still called "II" for sure. Originally it just gave me a #vibe, but the longer the campaign went on, the more we learned, the more happened, the more I came to associate the M9 with it and I just. It's like someone pulled images out of my brain, honestly- like I had been flirting with the idea of drawing something for this song so I'd switch it on and just let myself daydream to it and literally, lines where I'd be like "here there'd be a shot of kiri ofc... this would be molly's tail, this would be caleb with books-"
You brought it to life?! And for sections of the song where I thought I wouldn't know what I'd do ("calm and wild" for example) you had such fantastic ideas? I love your style and this video in being monochrome just adds to it and I just. Wow. I love this so much. Excuse me, I'd like to go watch it fifty more times.

that was incredible!!!! I love the song choice, the verses fit so well with M9's various arcs and stories!! My favorite part is with nott and caleb and their past selves, but all of it is so good!! (loved seeing them all smiling together 💖💖💖 and the meta gaming pigeon!!)

I must be a dumbass but I just got that at the moment from 2:24 - 2:43 you animated the pairs of characters you previously animated to demonstrate certain lines as they were coming up... It doesn't make much sense when I explain it I know, but that's super clever
