I tried fostering a dog once,about 4 years ago. Today he is now the resident couch potato in my house. His name is rooster cogburn and he is the best friend I could have ever hoped for.

My family just took in a puppy after she was dumped on our road during the quarantine. She's been growing so fast that she has already grown out of her baby bed, but she still lays in it. I think it's cute how they do that.

For anyone wondering, the condition of having two different colored eyes is called Heterocromia.

@@speakeasydoorman4966 if they wanted to rescue it, leaving it in a box by the street isn't the way. This pup was very lucky to be found by good people. Most aren't. Statistically it's either the abuser, or is complicit. Either way they abandoned the puppy instead if taking it to a shelter.
Sometimes people set out with good intentions to keep pets but their life circumstances change to the point where they can no longer care for it. Knowing someone would find it, they do the thing that is best for their situation.
Nothing like a good foster fail!! The loving bond is just there.❤️

@@djstrongarmgmail @Rock_Bands_Channel - a lot of dogs end up there who don't have any destructive behaviour, but the owner got tired of having a pet, or it was an unwanted Christmas gift. It's not automatically the dog's fault as you presume. It's worth a visit and check out some of these dogs. I adopted a small senior dog and she never ever chewed anything, never soils into the house and is even cat friendly. It took her about 2 weeks to trust me and the rest is history. 5 years still going strong.
No, not everyone should. Owning a dog is a lot of responsibility, time and money. It's furthermore a commitment for 20 years or something to stand up every day and feed him, walk him... Owning a dog is only for a certain kind of lifestyle and I hope everyone who adopts a dog thinks long and hard about it and are aware of the commitment it is and the sacrifices they'll have to make. Telling everyone to just go out and adopt is terrible advise.

This family ended up surrendering him to Leon County "Humane Society". After working with him, they were unable to overcome his "anger issues" and euthanized him 6/3/22.
I wanted to reach into the screen and hold him so tight. 'He's staying with us' is my new favorite saying. Right through the heart! 💘

Because there's other options than just dumping an animal like that. If the people didn't find him, he would have died. Just look at him.

Clara, Pitbulls do come with blue eyes. Sometimes only one, sometimes two. They also come with an unusual "cat" greeny/yellow eye colouring occasionally. Thought to be a mix of the blue eye gene & the honey/ amber eyes that quite a few Pitbulls have. 😳.
(Edit) Blue eyes are not desirable in a Pitbull & reputable breeders will not use such dogs in their breeding programs.

This is why I love dogs. They have the innocence of a child and they keep it, unless they run into some bad humans. Humans however can turn bad all on their own.

There's a chance he'd be profoundly relieved that a pup he could not care for found such a loving home. He might not have been an unfeeling monster, just someone who couldn't take care of a puppy and panicked to the point where foisting it off on some random doorstep seemed like a good idea. I'm not saying he made the right decision, or even a good one, but it might not have been a decision born from malice.

You are absolutely right but people are very quick to judge, they fail to understand that certain people are often limited by a restrained mindset. Could even be he was trying to save the puppy from someone else, who knows? In the end he could just be a jerk but I never judge before getting all the facts.

We live out n the country and when we first moved here, I couldn't believe how many animals were "dumped"!! I wanted to put up signs to say STOP IT!! BUT...then I realized that these were the very best pets we've ever had...then I wanted to put a sign that said THANK U FOR THE PET!! They all seemed to know they were going to be ok with us!! Animals are God's gifts to us...to love...our gift back to the Creator is that we do love and take care of these animals!! I am so very happy this little puppy survived and has a wonderful home!!
