Education is the key to opportunity and success, yet research consistently shows that high-quality education is out of reach for many young Americans - and disproportionately so for people of color. Can we close the achievement gap? How can we create a more equitable educational system?

Students must be taught to value education, which makes closing the achievement gap an easier goal to reach.
Is it me or does Roland sound like President Obama. Great Talk and Accomplishment toward the education of our disadvantaged youth
Great discussion. Very important points...
What an inspiring duo! I'll make a stink! (Fryer's cadence reminds me of Obama, too.)
There's no secret to achieving in school or any other endeavor you must put out a lot of effort over a long period of time. Self discipline is the greatest skill of all and many minority kids do not have the self discipline that many white kids have. I am a teacher and I see this everyday in the classroom a tremendous lack of self control which corresponding to intellectual development problems. Not achieving in high school is the effect of no discipline taught in the home. White educated parents have more self discipline and teach it to their children. Most uneducated minorities have less self discipline and do not teach it to their kids
you can tell him anf president Barack Obama had the same public speaking coach.. They sound just alike
