I sometimes compare myself to people like Preston & fall into a trap of not learning to get closer to/know more of God, but to be better prepared to answer those who doubt, scoff, etc. I often feel small in the knowledge of the big seminary concepts, or not knowing all of the Word by heart front to back. I have to be reminded that A. God has given a measure of grace, gifts, & callings for each person, and B. Peter was an "unlearned" man. Yet, he wrote that because he had an answer from experience. And even if it doesn't sound as intellectually passionate as some would, it is birthed from a life lived with the King of kings, & it's not to be spoken for the approval of the questioner, but merely to answer what was asked in the first place.
