      I first heard of G Edward Griffin 10 years or so ago. Very smart guy, but if you want to go the next step of a fully integrated philosophy then I can only reccomend Ayn Rand. Reason being is this: conventional dichotomy of morality is incompatible with individualism. A proper integrated philisophy can not simply be "well im an individualist politically, but ethically im a collectivist." THAT is why freedom is being eroded.

    In my life experience: You can either give people handouts to help them out but this tends to create dependence and resentment (that their not getting enough handouts) or you can help people by listening and encouraging people to succeed on their own so they learn how to care for themselves and their family. The result of the latter is independence, freedom and pride. The former suggests that you think that people aren't capable of providing for themselves.

    • @Malama_Ki

      No good deed goes unpunished. Government assistance ie handouts has become a lifestyle. The more dependent people become, the more they want. I’ve been working since 12, on my own since 17, and own three small businesses and land and thank God every day I did it myself. I hate to growing hippie collective of freeloading bums that are dragging society down to the lowest common denominator. As a latino, I found out there's a huge misconception around the Western world which is that we, in the western world think that western society as a whole is not inclined toward colectivism and that we all fight for our individual liberties. In my opinion I would draw a line between Latin American and the countries with Latin origin from Europe on one hand, and the Anglosaxon countries of Europe and North America on the other hand. Unfortunately, because of our strong catholic background we were more inclined to colectivism than the Anglo saxon sphere and that brought us even more corruption and wide spread poverty.

It is also mentioned in The Journals of The House of Commons published in 1803 that Prince William Landgrave IX of Hesse Kassel out of Germany married Princess Mary, the daughter of King George II from Great Britain. It is also mentioned through History Dot Com that The Royal Marriage Act of 1772 and Queen Victoria's Matchmaking led to Queen Victoria's nine children's 42 grand children---seven of them siting on thrones in, and I quote, "on European thrones in Russia, Greece, Romania, Britain, Germany, Spain and Norway-and all would take sides during World War I with disastrous consequences"

    It's an interesting conversation and I agree with G. Edward Griffin wholeheartedly. At this moment in time, I'm finding myself in a huge clash between the Dutch attitude in life and the British attitude in life. The former looks at an issue pondering and making a choice, acting on it as well.
    The latter finds itself in an issue, dramatizing it first to no end, wondering what it is and how one has a part in it, meanwhile turning its back onto the opposition, assuming that that's the guilty party. Asking oneself "Who am I and what is it in me that creates this issue?" NO WAY!! There's much unconsciousness in general, on this island. I assume it's due to bad food as well.

    • @syourke3
      @syourke3 Před rokem

      @@williamstorms3262 It’s certainly possible to have a Constitutional Republic without the Constitution setting forth individual rights. In fact, the U S Constitution didn’t have a Bill of Rights until 1791.
      Democracy simply means “rule by the people”, as opposed to rule by a monarch or an oligarchy or a tithed nobility, etc.. But “democracy” doesn’t describe a form of government whereas a “Constitutional Republic” is a form of government.
      My point is simply this: again and again, I hear people say that “the USA is not a democracy, it’s a republic” (or a “Constitutional republic”), when, in fact, there is no contradiction between these terms. A “Constitutional Republic” simply denotes a particular form of democracy.
      The Bill of Rights serves to limit the Constitutional powers of the federal government but it does not limit the democratic nature of the federal government which has greatly expanded since 1787.
      Bottom line: Democracy and individual rights are not antithetical. They are, in fact, complementary. “Democracy” does not mean that a majority of the elected officials can do anything they want to do.

    Once you know water is always level and the earth is flat and still with a dome, you can’t go back to living on a spinning wet ball rocket.

    So he’s saying that it’s ok to be a damn commie! I can’t agree with that. If he said we should become good Buddhists, I could buy into that fairly easy, or look for the good in people...

      @Meekseek, your comment reminds me of how some people first believe in their own opinion as an absolute and given fact, and base their opinion about those of others according to their fixed assumptions. You're starting at the wrong end!

      No. It’s capitalism. Corporations arise from capitalism. And cartels arise from corporations. And the state is indispensable to capitalism. If you don’t like rule by corporations, then you have to abolish capitalism. Capitalism is the basic problem.

      @@devonseamoor and you believe in your fixed assumptions... a mom and pop business and shop can be capitalist venture, they have a product people want, a fair deal, they're not a corporation. What's a better system, a monarchy, ok, that is exactly who rules, Kings & vassals, and you are part of the serfs, like me, and the triple crown. rules and owns everything. You're all clueless but think you know it all.

      He's not a professional interviewer, they know each other already and are used to informal talk. I suppose they just continue where they left off the last time. Right?
