I second that. I can really relate to feeling lonely. Had too many relationships that i thought would work out and got burned by flakey women who always seemed to have some excuse why they didn't want to be around anymore when i didn't meet their expectations when they knew i had emotional problems due to depression and anxiety.
I love this script. I really do. She's so kind and sweet, first impression notwithstanding. I'm not sure I'd be okay with giving up my normal life and letting someone else take care of me, it just doesn't seem like something I'd allow, but she makes a compelling argument, and she's so loving and gentle I might actually consider it. I also really like lamias, because snakes are adorable, and a humanoid snake could give full-body hugs. This beautiful serpentine lady is one I do not mind sticking around.
And the art is beautiful! I saw it the other day, and I didn't even think of lamias, despite just having written about one. For once, I am perfectly happy to be wrong.

This was a really good ASMR Lamia scenario! I can understand the listener being scared of the Lamia at first after seeing her eat someone. But you really feel for her after she tells her story and mentions how she’s just very lonely and wants a companion. I hope the listener stays with her and they settle down and have a family together! Also I really like the artwork for the lamia!

I’ve already listened to several actors’ takes on our lovely lamia Evelyn, but this is my favorite one I’ve heard. You pour such deep longing and love into your voice in this audio, especially in the last ten minutes or so. I had a cathartic cry that I’ve needed for weeks when Evelyn learns that the listener loves her back. I can absolutely see myself falling asleep in her warm, soft coils, secure in the knowledge that I’ll be safe with her for the rest of my days.

I'm so glad! Does it sound bad if I say that my own voice almost put me to sleep a few times during audio editing? The end of this script especially was written as such an amazing sleep aid, I think, and I loved performing it. As I said the lines, I had my arms up, imagining I was holding the person I was talking to, stroking their hair... it was a very calming moment. ❤️

It definitely would be my intent to test her patients, but after everything I just went through, it would happen at first.
After going through all of that, it would be impossible to be rational before being talked down by our Lamia rescuer.
Then, spending the night wrapped up in coils would be awesome.
The ability to instantly switch Your voice from smooth velvet to coarse sandpaper and back is mesmerizing to say the least.

As for SFX, given the amount present in the Dragon Soulmate audio, I was hoping for some bones breaking but I assume it might be a little too much for YT standards.
Yeah, it would be a bit much, given the violence. And as much as I wish I could give every video that level of visual detail, it would drain me very quickly to put that much work in all the time. I like to think of it as sort of a special bonus that some of them get. But who knows, the more I learn about animation and visual effects, the more I can do in the future...
@@nightshadequeenasmr Oh, I was referring strictly to audio SFX. Those muffled struggle sounds would end nicely with "massive chiropractor session". Visuals are nice and welcomed addition but not the main reason I'm here. After all, in most cases I close my eyes and create visuals of my own.
Ah I see! In that case, yes, you nailed it-the main reason I didn't push the envelope there is because I thought the violence might become too... explicit, for lack of a better word. :)
First off, thank you for filling the script. It feels criminal it took me this long to hear it in full but you did an amazing job bringing the script to life. I'm really happy you chose to fill it and I'm also thrilled to see so many people enjoying it.
For the people who wanted a part 2. I'm sorry I haven't got around to making one. Unfortunately my life became very hectic over the last year, I've had so much going on I had to give up on the script writing and never got around to it. Though I do hope one day I can return to it again. So while I can't promise anything now, I'll definitely think about continuing this story if I get back to it.
(Oh, and if any parts felt repetitive I do apologise. It was my first script;)

I don’t know if anyone has said this, but since I have played Diablo 4, your voice is very similar to Lilith, and that voice actress is one of my favorites! Your vocal performance is amazing on this audio!

Wonderful performance Nightshade, You breath so much warmth(got the joke?😏) and humanity into this character, surprisingly ssssoft and sssweet. I love those misunderstood characters, and i stand by those lonely, in immortal words of Bob Ross: "Everyone, even a tree, needs a friend" . She isn't a monster, she's too lovely.

Gotta say, fantastic voice work. I do personally feel the Lamia acted without any context of the situation, and only saved us because she thought we were cute. But for all she knew, there was probably a good reason why that soldier wanted to kill us. Maybe we were criminals who tried to escape execution. And she just killed an "innocent" person. Lucky for her, that wasn't the case.
Also, what? Scaring us so we don't try anything stupid (to fight or escape)? This snake lady isn't very bright.
But you know, it's all nice and everything to be kissed, brushed, and wrapped up in the embrace of a lamia's coils. At least it is until you recall the odd lump in her tail pressing up against you, knowing that inside that tail lump is the corpse of another human slowly desolving away. Yeah, this made my very uncomfortable. And if that was the goal, fantastic job!
Honestly, in my interpretation, it's much more simplistic than thinking the listener is cute. She saw one person attacking, the other being attacked. A murder about to happen in front of her. She reacted on instinct to prevent it before considering *why* it was happening. You're right; she really isn't all that bright, at least in the sense of understanding people, how they interact, and what they feel. And I don't think it should be entirely comfortable, dealing with a being who has entirely different instincts than humans, who finds it natural to swallow a person whole just so that she doesn't waste the body. To a lamia, humans *are* a natural food source. But at same time, does that make her a bad person? When she holds tight to a set of morals that goes against the instinct to devour? It's not so clear-cut, is it? Sorry for the wall of text, but you've hit on some of the big reasons I wanted to try this script. The contrast of the creepiness of the situation with the comfort the character offers. The conflict of instinct and morals, and potentially questions of the nature of good and evil, even. It's the kind of thing that fascinates me. Thank you for the thoughtful comment!
