You’ve been feeling a lot lonelier than usual lately. In an attempt to get your head on straight, you decide to take some time off and go on a vacation as far from human civilization as you think you can get. The first day there, you decide to go for an early morning hike, and you’re feeling pretty good about that decision... until you hear a voice coming from underneath a large rock.

Nightshade's notes: I've had this script on my list for a while, and I've been really looking forward to it! I'm so thankful to Stormcoming for reaching out to me about it, because it's exactly up my alley, and it's been an honor to perform.
I'm just now hitting a busy period at the day job, which is why this took longer than usual to finish - well, because of that, and because the script is deliciously long. Like last time, two thoughts in my head:
1) This is an interesting story.
2) This is a thoughtful story in which the writer of the script tried to explain all the points that could raise doubts.
Listening to this, I smiled several times.
At the very beginning, when she called for help, I thought that it would be a hundred times more reasonable and effective to pretend to be a human, and not to tell that you are a demon and not to call the listener a human. Just say you need help and that's it. There is no need to make everything complicated and reveal information about yourself. But when it turned out that she could not lie and that was the very moment when I smiled for the first time. Everything fell into place.
And then I thought that since she had been there for so long, she would have spoken in some other dialect, which is difficult or even impossible for a modern person to understand. And that question was also answered, which made me smile again.
There were also a few other funny moments here and there that I don't need to list in detail.
I would only say that no matter what beautiful human appearance she chooses, I will always prefer her demonic appearance. Although I understand that it is wiser to hide this appearance from prying eyes.
From this story, I could take the following moral:
1. Don't bet with a succubus. Better yet, don't bet with anyone at all.
2. Never overestimate yourself or underestimate others.

I think her pride blinded her. Given that hierarchy is of great importance to demons, I can understand why things happened the way they did. This is one of those moments where a character's shortsightedness doesn't make the story worse, but rather makes it more real. Characters should feel real, they are capable of making mistakes.
I have a thought in my head that this is all just a good trap set up by that succubus to eliminate a proud and strong demon that could become a problem in the future.

I'd love to headcannon/theorize a possibility that the human that freed her (the listener) is a descendant of the warrior that defeated her in the first place. Just something that would be interesting in my own head. Anyway, thank you for the audio, I regularly come back to this because of the superbly done audio.

This demon is somewhat telling the ways of being alone in a long time of one self to be in a serious situation to be left, or to be alone by choice or not, it's not a good thing to be in and even then, I do feel like I'm in that situation to feel alone in that situation, and even wanted to feel and hear the companionship to find, but no one to let me feel that kind of feeling to it and it felt related to it, so I'm surprised to see that way, so thank you ma'am

the demon magic reminds me of the meanas Warren in the Malazan book of the fallen, and with the mention of forkrul in there I'm guessing that may have been what you were going for? either way I can dig it, great work

Hey, welcome to the ASMR community! It doesn't seem like that long ago I was in your place, discovering it all for the first time. The visual stuff always works best for me in terms of tingles, but then once that has made me sleepy, I like to put on a roleplay audio to keep my mind from wandering back to my anxiety as I drift off. I do hope my work helps you!
As for a sequel, I do believe Stormcoming7, the writer of this one, had some ideas for a sequel script, but whether or not those plans fully manifest is in his hands. If he does write a sequel, though, I'll be super excited to voice it!
I wouldn't mind if she stayed taller than me. Tho I do admit, when she did her sudden growth and dislodged all the other boulders, my immediate thought was the poor Listener falling and rolling away like the victim of a Monty Python sketch. XDD

I've seen them banished, bound, killed, etc. But has anyone ever tried rehabilitate one, I guess would be the word. Not necessarily make then good, just not evil. I'm getting so many interesting vibes from this audio and I'm only at the 4:36 mark 👀.
1) The demon trapped below the boulder reminds me of the Kyūbi no Kitsune being imprisoned in/under a rock in Japan (might be another Yōkai, but I'm 99% sure I got the right one). The stone was broken recently too 😝.
2) A demon asking a human to free it from possibly millenia of imprisonment makes me think of the highly radioactive nuclear material storages deep underground. Currently, we all know that we should stay away from them but what about in a few millenia? How can we make sure the knowledge of staying away from those areas will have been passed down too? Will the humans then also "free the demon trapped below the rocks" and unknowlingly spread disaster across the world like how the Cesium-133 powder glowing blue in he dark due to its radioactivity was spread around the city of Goiânia resulting in thousands of people dead and dozens of thousand hurt? The expression "curiosity killed the cat" should really be changed to "curiosity killed Man" 💀.

This was a great story, I loved it! But there were a few moments where she did tell untruths? Things like "I'm not stalling. Well, okay, maybe I'm stalling," or even her calling herself a demon of the fourth echelon. I was thinking maybe it was an "intent to deceive" thing, but not being able to say "the sky is green" ruled that out.
I bring this up not to nitpick, but because they jumped out at me as hints that the claim about the standing stones wasn't actually true and it was something else keeping us from lying. So the ending not having any twist confused me a little at first.
(I also might be primed to watch out for that, having recently come off a different story where magic users risk karmic punishment for speaking untruths, even to the point of hyperbole and metaphor :P)
I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I think you hit the nail on the head when you say intent matters. The stones prevent _lying,_ not being wrong. If you believe what you've said in the moment you say it, then it's a mistake, not a lie. She didn't think she was stalling, but then it occurred to her that, well, maybe she was subconsciously. She believes she's a demon of the fourth echelon, so she was speaking with honesty when she said it. Things like that. The listener, of course, absolutely does not believe the sky is green, and so they can't say it. They'd be intending to speak words they know are untrue.
I can't speak about any other audios and the magical laws set up in those scripts, of course, (though the one you're describing sounds cool!) but that would certainly be a different world from this one. And of course I didn't analyze this script word for word. But in my recollection, the kind of thing you're talking about fits this category. Not lying, but wrong. At least, I believe so? Stormcoming might have thoughts to add, if they see this. I know they put a _lot_ of detail into the world building.
I appreciate hearing about the thought you put into it and the ideas you have! To be honest, that's one of the reasons I chose this script - because there's so much nuance and so many avenues of interpretation. Thank you so much for listening!
Nightshade's answer is the most correct. The stones (or, rather, the mage who created them) don't stop you from saying anything incorrect, and they don't care what your intention is, just whether you're saying words you know are untrue. Their original purpose was to- [redacted] If it were otherwise, they might require omniscience on the part of anyone inside them, which would make [redacted] difficult. Thank you for calling me out on this, though. I kind of... hadn't realized that the "I'm not stalling" probably should have counted as a lie. I'll go with Nightshade here, that was her subconscious realization. My daily dose of humility has been delivered. I swear, I read through the thing like three times looking for the minutest little untruth, I guess I just blipped over that. Oh, well.

If lying means "saying a false statement on purpose", then just adding "out of malice" to your definition should work 🤔. In that case, saying "the sky is green" wouldn't be a lie. It'd be what the demon wants to hear, i.e. not a description of reality, i.e. not a lie.

Honestly, for the kind of knowledge that she's offering, I would _definitely_ let her out. I don't really want money, and power, I feel like, would only succeed in turning me into a tyrant. But _occult, magical knowledge?_ Now, _there's_ something that I'd really want, and can get behind. I'd want to know if humans, like myself, are able to at all perform fantastical, or even just simplistic, magical feats;even just the knowledge of knowing that humans can only do basic magical spells, such as telekinesis or throwing fireballs, would be enough for me, personally speaking. So, yeah, I'd _definitely_ let her out if she were to agree to give me that kind of knowledge. Knowledge of monsters, and magical creatures, too. :3. I want to be able to fill my own spellbook grimoires with spells and knowledge, like in the anime _Black Clover._ :3.
