@@opulenthalo keep finding myself on this channel, right after doing whatever quest you're showing off too lol. It took my almost 7 years to figure out that was a quest location up there, I never bothered until the other day after getting bored and telling myself I want to find every single side quest possible organically, it is a hard ass endeavor but worth it

Try to stand on the backmost spot on that ship and you might survive the impact (the death actually comes in form of a instantdeathzone, not ftom the collision)
Not sure if it was vanilla or modded, but i think the time i flew with the ship in the past i had my companion trigger the launchbutton while beeing onboard instead of doing it myself.
You can easily do it without cheats, stand at the edge of the building then wait for the ship to drop down a bit then jump on

I'm more surprised the engine can handle player physics on top of a moving mesh. You don't slide backwards or clip through the textures, an actual W for Bethesda
They’re so close to having vehicles and yet they just refuse to do it.

It should've had them at launch, and the 76 CAMP system needs to be a single player feature. It'll bring back incidental housing, and in a sp game you don't need to limit the build area and can let players build build anywhere outside.

I did this in a suit of T60 power armor with a jet pack. I rode the front of the ship the whole way, firing my gattling laser and blaring "FreeBird" at full volume.
10/10 best moment in fallout.
Side note: ya can survive the trip by joining the crew below decks during the launch.

I think standing at the very rear of the ship (is there a boat there?) can be survivable.

Since I made two saves specifically to test this... and the freebird thing.

It would have been so cool if it kept flying around the commonwealth and it it became your own personal airship and the ability to call in artillery anywhere regardless if you have any settlements nearby.
No way they could’ve implemented that, the engine would’ve died on the spot. Game would’ve given you a middle finger on screen before crashing and setting the console/pc on fire lmao. Creation engine 2 could probably handle it.
I wonder if 2024 builds of Fallout 4 could handle it

A most excellent underrated film.
First off: no cheats necessary.
Power armor with jet pack plus jetfuel chems is all it needs to get on board.
Second: you don't die if you are under deck. Obviously you aren't able to see the flight. But at least you won't die onboard but under deck. Don't be on the top deck when the ship impacts. Once you've come to a full rest, and Captain Ironsides declares his final 'exultation' you can go back on top to talk to him again. There you'll receive an additional bonus for talking to Ironsides after the end of the quest. I'm not certain what it was, either his hat, or the broadsider cannon.
You get the cannon before the launch and his hat after speaking to him at the ships final resting place.
You don't need anything to get on board or survive to the end I did it the other day
You can also get the hat by going to the building the ship lands on after the flight. There will be 2 elevators to take which will take you to the ship's deck.
I can only think of two songs that fit this scene:

Cheats/drugs not required: tell your companion to flip the breaker switch, sprint off the rooftops towards the back of the ship, ride the rowboat up to the deck, wait until companion throws the switch/rocket sounds to start, go below deck, wait for the violent rocking to stopped, profit. I found I couldn’t go below deck if the ship started to move first.
If you go to the ship on top of the skyscraper, you can get a hat from ironsides
Pretty sure you can get that some hat hidden in some concrete rubble on a shop stand by a mannequin...
There's a hall in Boston which has just 1 small room. It has a small square with stand and microphone with a protectron lay on the floor in front. The mannequin is at a building next to the square
Rooftop of building opposite it is a random encounter hotspot. Not sure if that helps

The fact some stuff on board still has some physics even whenyou were not supposed to see it, is awesome
If only the launch boat off the keel had nicely animated physics. Should be swinging freely, maybe falling on its own (instead of being deleted) when the Constitution strikes the second tower.
All you need is some jet, good timing and you can enjoy the ride below deck 😊

You can get back up there afterwards with a jetpack. The Captain promotes you to Honorary Lieutenant and you get the Lieutenant's Hat and the Captain's Quarters as a reward.
I think dying on god mode is proof the devs had no idea why anybody would try this. if they knew we would try the player would survive.
If only they put this level of awareness into the main story line.

@@jakr430 They at least tried with FO3. For all its short comings, you can tell they tried _really_ hard to emulate the magic of the classic games. I don't remember for sure, but I don't think Emil was lead writer on anything until after FO3, which explains why there still seems to be some passion and charm, if lacking in execution.
That's really what it boils down to. Emil taking over as lead writer for Bethesda signaled the downfall of Bethesda as a developer. All of the actually good writers at Bethesda have either passed away or left rhe company, leaving that hack to drag down every project he's involved in.
He also didn't work on this specific quest, btw. Which is why it's actually fun and does things no other quest in the game does.

I did this with godmode and I survived. It was pretty cool.
Can do this in vanilla with power armor and a jet pack. You can also survive IF you enter into the ship thru the hatch. You'll feel and hear the ship flying and the screen will shake but you will not die because you are inside the shop which is an interior cell.
I like the little head-shake before the crash 😂

You can enter the cabin if you don’t want to die from the collision
The ship takes a slight dip as it initially moves foward. You can actually get onto it with a perfectly timed sprinting jump.

If you have power armor, you can jump off at the last second and land at the bottom of the tower to climb back up
Where the ship lands becomes another location that you can get to an the captain is still there on the deck. You can then start the next part of the quest where u finally land in water
I did this in god mode and I didn't die like that, the screen went black then came back to normal. I was still on the ship but the robots weren't there and it kinda broke the post quest return to the ship. For god mode I used "~ tgm", I believe there are 2 different types of god mode.
One time I stayed behind but I saw Ironsides fall off the ship when it was halfway across. When I finally got to the ship after it was stuck in the new building, he was back on board.
Fools the easier way to do it is to go all the way to the back I've done it before and survived it really isn't that hard unless they patched it of course but I doubt that
I’ve tried exactly this last week, died every single time, now I’m trying to jump on the bridge (Mods of course) before hitting the building. First time trying that in the game.

You can survive the trip either at the back of the ship, or in the hold (door works unless the ship is in flight)
You can actually do this without cheats. All you have to do is jump over and wait until the ship starts moving forwards. Then, just as it dips down for a moment, you jump over and you can make it on board and ride it. If you are lucky, and stay near the rear, it IS possible to survive it.
Good for you, it never occurred to me to try this though it’s my favourite Fo4 quest. Thanks for sharing.🤩
With the jetpack on Power Armor no cheats would be even needed
I saved and did this multiple times when the game first came out, using the jetpack. I found that there's no way to survive the impact if you stay on the ship, but you can indeed jump off at the last second and do a power armor landing and survive. Fun times.
The rowboat floating just killed me
If I recall correctly you maybe able to enter the ship as it departs so you can travel safely up to it's final well temporarily residents.
Easier to speak to Ironsides for a free Captain hat. Idk if it was patched out or im misremembering but its been years since I last did this quest.
Alright here's how to really do it without mods. Take a companion. Make them stay or have them move far away from the switch. Then command them to inspect the switch. Now run like hell all the way to the BACK of the ship and underneath. A small boat gets lowered and then raises automatically when you jump on it. Pretty easy to do. If you go inside when it takes off, youll live.
I did this with a jetpack and no fall damage leg armor. I jumped just before impact, because i thought it was funny to abandon ship. Funny thing is you gotta time it just right, if you jump to late, you still die, even though you dont get hit with anything. Jump too early and you miss the ride
what graphics mod/enb are you using?
Fr though I'm so mad because this is a missed opportunity, not only does the ship fly off and doesn't let you board, but it becomes unobtainable for later gameplay, they could've done more with this
You can climb that building, without cheats, and fully access the ship, including the quarters you are given permission to occupy.
Also, don't forget to talk to Ironsides as he gives you a special item...
You can actually do this but not from this point like that and without cheats.
Basically flip the switch and drop down to the ground take off running to the boat on the back and have them pull you up. After that your get inside the ship and your stand absolutely still and you don't interact with anything inside the ship because the game with crash. Once it lands you walk out to the deck and you can interact with all like normal.
I flew on deck via the jet pack. When that ship started flying, 10/10 the best ride ever then it pushed me off the back and I died lol.

captain cosmos suit maxed out and hopping up the jet on the left side of the boat than jump off before it hits, you'll be at the bottom of the building but you will not die
You can actually strategically time your jumps to get on the ship. Just be sure to jump out on time, too.
You can jump there and even survive the impact when you will keep yourself on the rear side of the boat.
You don't need cheats to board the ship. Jetpack. When it takes off, you stay at the front and gradually move back then when it crashes you jetpack off so you don't die. No cheats required.
Yea I did that on my first play through. Went back to previous save and hopped on thought oh cool then BOOM dead. Then you have a new safe area at top of building

You dont need cheats, when the ships bow dips down, you can jump on through the gap in the railing from the rooftop. Thats how i did it in my first playthrough, i felt like Jack Sparrow until i got murdered my God Howard's death barriers

you can also parkour from that roof to the ship using jet right as it takes off

You can actually survive this above deck but you have to stand near the back and it takes a few tries.
You can board the ship without cheats if you're fast enough to the boat elevator on the back.
You dont even need to cheat, if you use jet as soon as you press button, and rush over to the elevator, you can get on and activate it while its moving
I just used the jet pack to get on, and I jumped off before it hit the building.
Funny thing is I did this like a week or two ago, but I had a no die cheat on, so I literally just dropped to a knee for a second once the ship hit the tower
If you jump off right before it hits you can live through it. Run to the stern and jump off right before it hits.

How crazy is it that we are still playing this game almost 10 years later and it's so much fun? Same goes for Skyrim. Bethesda really has some gems. I think the only other company that can make games that last this long are Nintendo and Rockstar? I'm sure there's more, but these 3 have to be in the top 5...
I was able to survive it without godmode. I stayed towards the stern of the ship and popped a shit ton of drugs. Took a lot of tries though.
You can jump on the ship when it starts its really easy and you dont need cheats just go to the plank its basically put there to make the jump
I read somewhere that you can survive if you're at the back of the ship.
With a combination of a little jet, and a jump at that kill barrier you can ride all the way to the end. Even when the building is destroyed. I took more when it reached the building. Try! 🎉
No cheat needed, just tell your companion to flip the switch. While they go to do it, just hop on the dingy at the back of the boat, and off you go.

This ship quest could have been so much more involved, thus more cool. Would have been nice to work on getting it off the next building lol.

I did this jumping with the power armour and didn't die the second time. Just before it hits begin to jump
The funny part is, they fly her right over the river that dumps out into the sea. But I think the whole point is for the player to go through all that for a pointlessly silly payoff of only succeeding in moving the ship slightly closer to it's objective.
The good thing about this ship hitting the tower is that no one was harmed. 😅
On my last play through this quest bugged out on me the raiders wouldn’t show up and attack the constitution.

I did this at night. It was dope. You can board the ship by going to the top Faniuli Tower that its on.
You don't need cheats at all. You can jump on the roof and wait for the ship to dip, giving you enough space to simply jump aboard.
You could also use the power armour jet pack to board the ship. Or is there a barrier?
You can send ur companion to flip the switch
Actually you can enter inside the ship just before it crashes in the tower and it is perfectly fine.
I entered the hull during the flight and exited immediately. I glitched inside the damage and was able to take the elevator down. 👍🏼

That looks like the devs just used a kill all command to save time, and it is not like the player will be on the ship. It becomes part of the background.
A yes, my PS4 almost crash before the collision with the building. The game got stock in loading ,without the black screen, and then I died...... That was 4 years ago. It is nice to see Fallout 4 having a comeback.
Literally the first thing I did in this part of the quest.
I was able to survive up deck by wearing a power suit and jetpack and jumping right before it shows the death message and landed back on the ship.
