Imagine letting us hear the table talk and not talking over them.
thank you so much
I liked when he specifically said he would stop talking so we could hear the table talk, and then the second Ivey said one word he talked over him.
nah these commentators have big ego. they feel too special to stfu
I know right? I was about to say the same thing. đ€Ł
Imagine bitching about free content.
Who cares about the exchange after Ivey folded? We'd much rather hear the commentators blather about nothing.
" I wAs TaLkiNg toO ToNY 1-oN-1, No OnE wAs ArOuND! NO PC!!! & hE sAiD..." .. STFU mate!
Very annoying
Went straight to the comments to see who felt the same
Well said. Triton should hire NA NO NO KO together w/ Rotterdam instead of commercial never ending talk machines like JG and Boys&Girls-Kilbane.
Ali Nejad is a true artist w/ words imo, together w/ King rast or Randy, Nick Shulman ... PG and even wayback when, always topnotch.
Painful
It would be awesome to actually hear the conversation between Phil and Tony. Appreciate the insight from the commentators but the chatter between these two is definitely gold.
Yea agreed rip mike sexton he would have let us hear them
These commentators are trash.
But they got to make us know that they are friends with Ivey!
I don't appreciate 'insight' when we can all see the cards.
one of the biggest commentator curses is thinking its' all about them and they need to be talking at all times, sometimes the silence is as important the word vomit
Tonyâs respect for Ivey is just so evident. Heâd have talked Hellmuth into making a bad call there easily.
Yeah lol or called the clock
If Ivey paraded around like he is the best ever of all time he would get the same treatment as Hellmuth, but he is smarter than that.
Ivey doesn't tell everyone he's the best in the world. There's nothing to mock
I'm All in blind Phil, I haven't looked. The people at home know I haven't looked. LMAO remember that
@@2hot4u68 yeah but he definitely looked and like had him drawing dead. Wasn't it from premier league?
sometimes you just want the commatators just to stay quite in these moments. Especially when they are not directly talking about the hand
exactly, especially right after the fold.
Quiet*
Ya and they talked over Ivey asking Tony if he had 77! Are you kidding me?
you know when ivey stares blankly and his mouth is open he's going to make an amazing play
Haha
lol
Seen it many times, Its like he goes into fly catcher mode with the gormless expression, then does the most impressive plays.
Exactly
Lmaoooo too true
Let us hear when they talking amongst themselves, don't talk over them.
I 2nd that statement.
Ivey never goes in the tank, would have loved to hear 2 legends talk.
Ridiculous commentary
Miss the days of Mike Sexton, Vince van patton, Gabe Kaplin, etc. commentating. They helped grow the game to the masses. These guys are brutal to listen to.
Love Gabe
Gabe was hilarious
Agreed. They suck.
I picked up PokerGo just to listen to Gabe again on the new High Stakes Poker seasons. Although now there's too many unnecessary constant breaks in the action and short interviews. Also not as much good table talk as before.
Gabe yes. Sexton is awful.
To understand this hand turn the sound off and watch the hand unfold. Listening to these guys is like picking up your brother from a bar at 4am and listening to him prattle all the way home!
Whereâs my fucking money!!!!!

For the people complaining about the commentators talking over the banter:
Phil asks if Tony had 77. He replies "Somewhere around there." And they both laugh because 66 is indeed around there.
a bit more than that
and the commentators should have reacted to how amazing that comment by Ivey was. ffs.
Um obviously, because there was a 6 on board lol

I thought of that quote as soon as they got dealt their cards. Classic Tony G moment.
"I played it like a set. Even I thought I had a set!"
When Ivey stared down Tony and Tony gave off a genuine smile thatâs when Phil convinced himself he was infact beat.
How the hell you know what that man is thinking? You guessing
No he is right I seen it also.
He also looked down and noticed Tony had a huge bulge in his pants. That was the final nail in the coffin.
The commentators are so horrible. Not only in this clip but the whole live stream.
Later when Tony finally shows some table talk they totally act out, instead of being glad, that it's not robots playing.
Really sorry to say this, but the cash games with a lot of table talk and little but high quality commentary by Lex feel like a whole different production level. These commentators can't be quite for 10 seconds.
Kassouf is a loser. But his talk game is breathtaking to watch. Always toward the edge but within the bounds of decency. Unlike how Tony gets.

Phil Ivey is truly an inspiration to watch.
Not anymore. He is overrated. Nowadays, top poker players run circle on Ivey.
@@michaelss1294 agree
Love the content. but i prefer less commentator talk in these tight spots and with the table talk.
No talk from these commentators. Itâs jarringly bad. Makes me think theyâre on the spectrum or something.
Can you guys shut up for 2 seconds? Absolutely horrendous. Especially at the end when Ivey and Tony g were talking to each other. We all as viewers want to hear these 2 legends interact. Utter frauds. Thumbs down. Thumbs up for Ivey though.

The amount of change of appearance throughout the years for these poker stars are pretty interesting.
Thatâs another level of thinking from Phil Ivey. Heâs still got it.

Personally, I'd prefer more ambiguity in the title. Something like "Can Phil make the soul read in insane hand?"
Watching Phil make a decision for what seems like forever
Great read because Tony wasn't giving away anything and Phil knows Tony has respect for his game (not bluffing). He broke down all the factors and knew he had to fold. Awesome hand.đđŸ
Respect isn't not bluffing

Phil has read Tony's book that says "Never overplay KingJack!"
Tony G & Phil I remember watching them all the time now they getting old which means I am and I donât nothing with my life đ
Where's the mute button on these guys?
That's not a soul read, that's "not risking your tournament life with a Bluff catcher" Don't forget, this is short deck. Sets are more likely
draws are also deadlier, so a straight draw that picked up a flush draw (the bottom of tony's range) would have a ton of equity. hold'em players don't understand "betting your draws for value" lol
Yeah but there are quite literally only two hands that beat Phil here - set it 7s or set of 6s on that board. Preflop action provided Tony doesnât have jacks or kings, very unlikely chance of that. No straights or flushes out there, just draws. Phil made an absolute sick lay down for having what is pretty much the best hand like 80% of the time lol.
@@yoyert6526 in short deck, draws get there more often. it's not so much what's beating phil, it's what is phil up against EV wise. in holdem, this decision is kind of a snap (calling, not folding lol). in short deck, phil could have an overpair or two pair & not be a favorite over a straight flush draw (assuming phil's pair/s don't share suits). think of this as an omaha hand & it makes more sense.
That's not a bluff catcher?đ especially against a player like Tony g. He does that with any versatile draw on the board so more often than not he's actually bluffing there
@@gpet-dr2bs that's thing: in holdem he's semi-bluffing with those draws, in short deck he's betting his draws for value...in addition to potentially having the sets that crush phil =/
I came to hear that quality Tony G banter. Thanks

Yes, this was Poker Night in America, I think. Great season!
This is like watching a concert and having commentators talking over the music about the musician's stories.
Best guess on the table talk starting from Phil's fold at 7:58
TONY: "Good."
PHIL: "Good?"
TONY: "If you threw queen king away."
PHIL: (shakes head, no)
TONY: "A set."
PHIL: "You have a set?"
TONY: (nods slightly, yes)
PHIL: "What, sevens?"
TONY: "Around that."
(both laugh)
TONY: "Around that."
PHIL "Strong hand."
TONY: "And a good laydown, queen king, if you had that."

Thats how Tony G would play a set like against pro level player. It absolutely looks like a straight draw that picked up a flush draw or Kx-s flushdraw trying to pick up the pot. The player behind is a sign of strenght that probably made the decision easier for Ivey. Still a nice Laydown.
Nope. The jack didn't match anything. And Ivey thinks Tony wouldn't try a bluff like that. you gotta figure why would he bet like that. Only conclusion is a set
Tony G and Ivey âŠHoli moli
Great hand, but commentators seem more interested in talking about how much they know Ivey than observing the hand and adding anything of value.
Sometimes, just shut the f up.
This is from long stream,so it is fine, they cant talk about strategy all the time coz it gets boring for casual audience.
@@user-ly5oo2hd7p Yeah but professional commentators should have the intelligence to shut up and respect the action when something interesting is happening.
For example, in football (or Soccer for Americans), commentators might chat about background info among themselves, but when something happens on the pitch, they describe the action and react to it.
Can you imagine sports commentators talking about the time they met Ronaldo or Messi instead of commentating on the action when Messi or Ronaldo scores a goal?
Im sure the spade on the turn is why tony shoved but cudos to phil on the fold!! I could only dream of being that good and comfortable at a table with this caliber of players!
Did Tony G take a chill pill? Haven't watched him for a bit but he is so calmer.
This was a pretty easy fold. Of course Tony could be bluffing, but this was a 3-handed pot and Tony reraised all-in and with someone still left behind him. If this was a heads up pot, I think Ivey would have had a real decision to make. But 3-handed, Tony's move is just too strong to be bluffing there.
Of course, Mr Poker expert

At the end, Tony confesses it was a set. And Ivey asked: "what, sevens"? And Tony said something but impossible to hear :) But finally what a great fold.
The quietest I've ever seen Tony G. during the hand.
Tony you better put on that sports jacket sir. He needs a Masters green jacket for special tournaments.
last time I click a triton poker video, god damn that was frustrating
Did Tony G overbet that hand or not? There was two high cards so there was a potential straight draw, and also two spades, so there was that, which made it a definite spot to bet. But because one of the spades was the jack, and that was when Ivy bet the most, you could consider that he doesn't have a redraw for spades. At least that's not likely. I think. I'm trying to learn this game and how to play in those big situations when money goes in and both people have hands.
