Hmmm, I haven't been over the bridge in a long time. I see they've paved the old steel roadway. You used to drive over it and you'd hear the "bzzzzz" all the way across. When I was very young, they were just building those entry ramps from the FDR. To go from the FDR to the Brooklyn Bridge, in those days you used to actually have to go down into the streets and go through the local traffic, like on the Manhattan Bridge. I'd say the ramps were finished around 1970. that's also when they were putting up Bergtraum High School and One Police Plaza (the two ugly buildings on the north side of the bridge).
Great round trip video! Thank you
Both sides in one Video, splendid
That was fun! Thanks.

I loved the steel roadway...it sounded like the bridge was singing. The Roebling Bridge in Cincinnati is still steel deck.
Amazing engineering feat. With 1880s limited resources.
David McCullough's book about the building of the bridge is fascinating.
It’s so beautiful
Oh my g god 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
