    I, for one, appreciate the speed of delivery. I'm glad it's not slower.

    This is awesome! Good walktrough Travis, I pray for more videos like this!
    Have been using ignition for 7months now, and I have totally no regrets on my firms investment!

    While I find this Demo extremely useful and the person doing the demo extremely knowledgeable he talks extremely fast and zipping around the Software. However, I’m not, thus I find I have to watch this video at 0.75 speed so my mind can keep up with the demo. At my company we have been evaluating Ignition and where it fits in very specifically for IIoT Solutions for our customers. Not for HMI specifically as we are an OEM and has yearly tool kit license to Rockwell Automation Software suites for all the products we use and have to support our Field Service Engineers in the field using those various softwares. Thus our main and sole solution in evaluating Ignition is for IIoT. The thing is I love it based on what I’ve seen. We’ve had a few webinar conference call with the ignition team over the last month or so. But I’m still trying to figure out myself exactly where it fits and just how it works for a solution for us with over 1000+ plant sites we have our equipment at that our customers own and operate.

      Inductive Automation We know the demo is available and we have downloaded it. Though we connected it to our desktop Control Logix Chassis to try pulling some tags from the controller. However, we haven’t done much with it since and with the short 2 hour license demo. My Senoir Programing Engineer also felt he just didn’t have enough time to try it out properly playing with it with the short license reset. We get pulled in so many directions in the office and having to travel to plant sites to work on customer stuff, plc issues and doing some major upgrade projects for customers that we just don’t always have dedicated time and enough time to focus on trying out the software and with MQTT. I don’t know if it’s possible to get like a 30 day license demo that may help a bit. But though I’m more the junior programing engineer I like to project the big picture idea with what this software can maybe help us do. And though we have access to all the Rockwell Software in our company yearly Toolkit License to use as needed, I see some promise that ignition can maybe fill with MQTT. Thus I’m on the channel here looking at the more recent videos. I’ll at least try to gather more details for my Senoir Engineer who’s a stellar programmer. But even he has a lot on his plate to do and evaluate as well complete current projects. So when we sit and play with ignition for 15-30 mins and something else comes up. That 2 hour demo license time is basically gone. I’m aware of the Inductive University to get far more training on the Ignition Software and capability, but I just haven’t had time to go there yet.
      Just two weeks ago I was at a ThinFlex 2 day Conference by HMS in Nashville for their Ewon Flexy which is something we are also evaluating and actively demoing, this as well we have 1 in our office testing. It was mentioned there that HMS with the Ewon Flexy has also being collaborating with Ignition, that helped bring my mind back around again back to Ignition in how it works with the Ewon Flexy for IIoT Solutions and I/O server data into the Cloud. Whether through Talk2M, Azure or AWS. So it’s all IIoT for us with Ignitions capabilities.

    Nice. Is ignition an ERP+MES? IVe seen custom MES connecting to Mitsubichi PLC to gather info and display on team leader app and database, keeping track of downtimes, hisotrical data, etc. Does ignition does this?

    The guy talks WAY too fast. I've talked to multiple engineers who've tried to learn Ignition by watching the videos with no success. I can look at a FactoryTalk ME application project structure & know what I'm looking at. Ignition is a totally different paradigm with a massive learning curve. There needs to be an "Ignition for FactoryTalk users" course. There needs to be a simple demo connected to Rockwell hardware that I can play around with. There needs to be a conversion utility

    • @InductiveAutomation
      @InductiveAutomation  Před 7 měsíci

      Thank you for the feedback! We passed your ideas along for the team to consider making future videos. That's a really interesting idea for a course. As for the speed of this video, since it was a webinar it definitely moved along incredibly fast, but for something with a slower pace, we suggest using Inductive University if you haven't tried it yet (inductiveuniversity.com/). It may not fully fulfill what you're looking for, but it can be a really helpful place to start.
